I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!

I loved some of the short stories others i found just a bit lackluster, i would recommend this if you want a quick read though!

Between the description and the cover I expected so much more from this book. It was a collection of short stories in serious need of an edit and revision. They really had the feel of something my students would write and they never seemed to really go anywhere. Very disappointing.

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
The collection of stories was ok, but nothing exceptional. They were interesting enough that I did finish the book.

I absolutely love short story collections and I jumped on this one. This was my first book by Chris Harmon and it was a light read. While the stories weren’t bad, they weren’t scary, and they came off like a middle grade novel. Which I’m pretty sure kids would adore and they are a bit like an R.L. Stine book.

This book would be perfect for Halloween night read for the family to enjoy.

Thanks to the author and Netgalley for this read

I had a bad feeling about this one right from the start when "Alice breathed heavily trying to catch her breath." I persevered through "His eyes were so blazing" but once "The man's grip loosened his grip on her throat" I felt it was best that we just part ways. DNF @6%

Creepy creepier and CREEPIEST!!! Had me not wanting to read more but also couldn’t stop myself! Such good detail and characters! I couldn’t put this one down!

I only managed 2 of the short stories in this book. I had high hopes for a collection of creepy stories, but the writing was so immature and it felt like the author had a hard time with grammar. My own is far from perfect, but in this book it was just so jarring. Sometimes they'd be talking about 2 people following someone, then suddenly it changed to just one, then back to two. At one point there was a scene where there were two teachers involved, and the titles used for them changed every other sentence (swapping from Ms to Mrs and back).
I feel like this is something someone should have picked up on when proofreading.
As I mentioned before, the style was very immature. It reminded me of something written by a high school or university student,.learning about creative writing for the first time. And although they have potential, they have a lot of work to do for their writing to really be good.
Normally I don't like to have a go at writing styles, as each is unique and sometimes just not what I like, but in this case, it bothered me so much I couldn't keep reading.

Once I was a couple of stories in I realised I probably wasn't the target audience for this collection of Horror shorts.

It just seemed to be teenagers. Getting scared. Not being nice to each other. And SHOUTING A LOT! With lots of exclamation marks. And short sentences.

So I couldn't really get into this and while it wasn't for me it's probably a good introduction to Horror for the intended YA or younger audience.

I do appreciate this is a very young author and hope he develops into a major force in horror writing.

I very much wanted to enjoy this book, I love horror and I love short stories so I thought I’d love it. However, it just fell a bit short off the mark.

My main issue was with the writing style, I understand that it’s for a younger audience but the writing read as thought it was written by a child and it wasn’t very easy to read. It didn’t flow nicely at all. Also the stories themselves were a bit cringey and not very good.

Jitters approaches short horror stories from the point of view of children. I like this take on horror and the stories are all inventive. The writing could be improved. The narrator in two of the stories kept bouncing back and forth between first person and third person. This was distracting and confusing. These would read something similar to “Tom out my hand in my pocket.” A couple of stories has nice cliffhangers, and some just stopped short with a “happily ever after” ending. I feel that a younger audience would enjoy this collection more than the adult reader and there is nothing too horrific for a tween within the pages. I would recommend #Jitters to tween and teen readers. #netgalley

The cover and the description and the fact that this was short stories collection in the horror genre. I love horror in short story form the best

But I felt this collection lacked substance and it ended up feeling like homework and something I had to complete.

I did not like any of these stories the writing sucks it read like someone who never wrote decided to wite a horror short story collection. The humor I personally felt was cringey and cheesy.

I'm disappointed that I didn't enjoy my time reading this. I hope it finds the right person because I'm not it.

I’m not typically a big reader of the horror genre but the short story format of this book intrigued me. Each tale was unique, terrifying, thought-provoking, mind-bending, dark, psychological. It reminded me of a book version of Guillermo del Toro’s recent ‘Cabinet of Curiousities’. I kept this on my nightstand and dipped into a few stories each night. Really enjoyable!

Sadly to say I did DNF this book. I really could see his potential to become come a great author. It is a young adult short story horror collection but I felt it was written for younger teens. I read only three stories out of 15.

I do want to thank @netgalley for letting me give my honest review.

I am very sorry for this review, but I like to be absolutely honest with my opinions. It was really hard for me to finish this book. I searched both NetGalley and Goodreads to see if this book was label as "middle grade", but neither site makes this information clear. And here is where my problem begins, on one hand, if the target of this book is children/adolescents, this book would definitely be a 3.5 star. But if this is target towards an adult audience, that's a big no.
The plot of all the stories is weak, at times even abrupt. The construction of characters is very poor, and mostly of them are hateful, which means that empathy is not present, and therefore you don't care about what happen to them.
I'll also have to say that many stories were boring and lacking in meaning.

Many thanks to Netgalley for this ARC!

This book contains a few different stories that contain what could be called "short and shivery", as they aren't long and should give you a bit of a kick. However, I feel as if this anthology could have used a dedicated content editor as the stories don't seem to flow together. As someone who reads horror on several different levels (children through adult), I couldn't even say that this was well-written. While I don't need intricate plots for horror I do need a satisfying payoff for a horror title to be pleasing to me and I just didn't see that here. I think the author would benefit from working with a dedicated horror content editor to help flesh out these stories more and make them much more satisfying.

Thank you to NetGalley and Horror Tales Publishing for this ARC. This was my first read by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I liked most of the stories, but not all of them. My favorite stories were The Very Scary Game and Dollface. I did enjoy the writing, but it did feel very YA and childish at times.

Unfortunately I DNFed this, it wasn't for me as I didn't like the writing or the story. It was repetitive and hard to get into. I do like the cover though.

This was a DNF for me. I had a really hard time getting past the dialogue and POV/main character. Alot of it was repetitive descriptions and just alot of "filler". I didn't make it past 20%

Thank you, NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC. Here is my honest review:

It wasn't terrible, just not for me. The target audience seems to be much younger (maybe middle school age?). As I understand, the author is young and so I feel like this collection is a good start to a writing career.
