I don usually read contemporary romances, but something about this book intrigued me. I am so glad I took a chance and read it! I absolutely loved the story, the main characters, the supporting characters, and the struggles and love that they faced. Vivian had her weaknesses, but she was a strong, independent woman who never lost sight of who she was. Dante was a typical man-tough on the outside, but tender hearted on the inside. They complemented each other perfectly. Great read! I look forward to reading many more by Ana Huang!

Rating: 5/5 Stars

As usual, I am OBSESSED with Ana Huang’s new book - King of Wrath! I honestly love everything by her so I knew it would be great, but still blown away. Devoured this!

Let me start off by saying this book pulled me in from the beginning and held me there until the end. I honestly couldn't put it down.

Dante is a hot shot billionaire with a tough exterior. He demands control and respect. Vivian is not the typical heiress but she follows her parent's instructions to a tee. Both get caught up in situation that neither of them wanted but didn't know they needed.

This was the first Ana Huang book I have read but it won't be the last! This was a beautifully written story that allows you to connect to the characters and fall in love with the story.

Thank you to Ana Huang, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book for my honest opinion.

I have loved every Ana Huang book I've read but this one takes the cake. The banter between Dante and Vivian was top tier and some of the best I've read recently.

This is the type of book to get you out of a book slump. Not only does it hit on all the best tropes, but it does it so well. It’s romantic and sexy and I would have read it forever if I could have.

Tropes:
✨Arranged marriage
✨Forced proximity
✨Billionaire romance
✨Touch her / look at her and there will be hell to pay

I loved this so much that I couldn’t put it down. My only downfall was starting it late last night soooo hello eye bags you’re looking lovely today. This was exactly what I wanted from a forced arranged marriage plot line. Is some of it predictable? Of course, that’s what you get with a stand-alone, HEA romance with a trope that’s been used by countless others AND for it to be realistic. But for a girl like me, whose anxiety appreciates knowing there will be a HEA, it was perfect.

~
As arranged marriages go. Dante Russo, the CEO of Russo group, comes from “old” money, and is one of New York’s finest billionaire bachelors. He’s about to have his controlled life flipped into disorder with his forced marriage to Vivian Lau. Vivian’s family is “new” money, which makes her family desperate for connections into society that aren’t available by just being successful.

Vivian’s freedom in making her own choices only extends as far as her career and living in Manhattan. Finding a husband? A definite no. Not when her parents require her to find someone “suitable” for their family status. Vivian’s domineering father “secures” a match for her behind the scenes, one in which involves her moving in almost immediately after meeting her arranged fiancé: Dante Russo.

“We’d exchanged only a handful of words, yet I already knew two things with gut certainty. One, Dante was going to be my fiancé. Two, we might kill each other before we ever made it to the altar.”
~

What I know with gut certainty. One, don’t mess with Dante while he’s trying to figure out the feelings he has for his fiancé. Two, the moment Dante was described with broad shoulders and dark hair, I was sold.

I was feral for Dante’s possessiveness because it made absolutely no sense from everyone else’s perspective, including his own. Exhibit A:
“Whether I like her or not, Vivian was my fiancé, and I was getting damn tired of hearing her name leave his mouth.”

Dante confused and trying to figure out his feelings??? Priceless. I just ate it up. One minute he’s like, “My body had never reacted so viscerally to anyone before, and I didn’t even fucking like her.” The next he’s like, “Take your hands off my fiancé …. Touch Vivian again, and I’ll kill you.”

I mean I genuinely laughed out loud during parts of this book. The little sparks of humor and the banter, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was easy and I just liked the plot overall.

I loved that Vivian worked for her money and was successful in her own business. She also was rational, didn’t make decisions that left you screaming, and fought back (with words). She wasn’t just a doormat when it came to Dante. Although with her family, that’s a whole other story. Her dad is a douche canoe and that’s all I’m going to say.

Dante was rough in character, full of scowls and a hard exterior but he was also supportive when it came to Vivian. AND when it came down to grovel, this man GROVELED. I loved that there was no instant reconciliation. Vivian made this man grovel true to her strong character. I was pleasantly surprised and loved every moment of it. Now Dante with his feelings finally figured out? I ate that up too.

On to the spice, because that’s something worth mentioning. IT WAS GOOD. Dante with that mouth of his, someone bring me a fan because it was HAWT. Ana brought the heat in this book and executed it well. I was sweating at some points. New trope- if you let him touch you, there will be hell to pay later in the bedroom. Dante was not having another man touch Vivian without reminding her whose fiancé she is. Let’s just say, she was thoroughly reminded.

Ana Huang's nickname is Deadshot because she *does* *not* *miss*. As always the writing style and characterization are excellent, digestible, and enjoyable. The timeline and pacing of the story was perfect and it also had a perfect balance of heartwarming, spicy, and funny moments. Dante & Vivian top Ava and Alex for me!

After reading the Twisted Series and being admittedly nervous about how she could follow that up King of Wrath just cemented Ana Huang as an auto-buy author, she is literally a romance author heavyweight champ.

Overall this was a great way to kick off the Kings of Sin series and I am *dying* to get my hands on King of Pride, as in literally on the edge of my seat and subscribed to her newsletter to buy it the second it releases.

"Per te aspetterei per sempe, amore mio.”

Ana Huang never disappoints. I'm going to be bold with this next statement. I think that ‘King Of Wrath’ is my favourite book of hers.

It has:
- arranged marriage
- enemies to lovers
- touch her and I’ll break your nose
- I hate everyone but you

Vivian and Dante have my whole heart. Their relationship gets off to an incredibly rocky start but the vulnerability they share with each other is so wholesome and sweet that it gives you hope for a happy ending. I'm so excited to see what the rest of the series brings!

Thank you to netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for an e-arc of this book!

I started reading Ana Huang's twisted series last year and was instantly drawn in by her writing style, like many many other readers. there was something so accessible and fanfic-y about that series that just... worked. you knew pretty quickly upon starting each book what tropes would be involved and what the character dynamics would be like. which i find so fun! but i know that isn't for every reader.

This book is the start of a new series and I think marks a slight departure from Ana Huang's signature formula. and I ain't mad at it. This book follows Dante and Vivian who enter into a fake engagement due to ~circumstances i won't reveal here lest i risk spoiling the book~

Not altogether different than Twisted Lies in terms of plot. but the execution here is the difference. The relationship between Vivian and Dante is much more subtle than any of this author's previous couples. I think maybe because Vivian is 28 rather than a fresh college grad? But there isn't any bumbling awkwardness on the part of the heroine or OTT cheesy confessions too early on from the hero. instead you have a relationship that unfolds a little more delicately.

But fear not twisted series fans. there are enough intriguing plot moments and scorching hot sex scenes to keep your interest.

The only thing that kept this book from being a 5 star read for me was the conflict. You know early on what it will be, but I was still holding out hope we'd go in a different direction. I'm not a huge fan of deceit/lies of omission in a romantic relationship. But the grovel at the end almost makes up for it.

Overall, excited to see where this series goes. and really intrigued to see who our next couple will be!

This is definitely my favorite book by Ana Huang so far! I really loved Vivian and Dante's relationship, even when it was extremely complicated at times. At first, I really did not like Dante, but his character growth throughout the book is unparalleled, and so, so sweet. I also really enjoyed Vivian's story arch with her family, and the way it was very nuanced and not just black and white. I also enjoyed how flushed out Vivian was as a character and the way we really got to see a lot of her personal journey.

This book definitely leans into the lack-of-communication trope, so if that is a dealbreaker then this books might not be for you. There are a lot of morally grey moments throughout this book, but anyone who is a fan of the Twisted series will also love this one!

Vivian is asked by her family to marry Dante, a rich blue-blood... Vivian broke up with her first love to appease her parents. Dante is forced to marry her by her family's blackmail.

It is steamy, sexy and lots of angst. I like Dante and Vivian a lot. Love the enemies to lovers trope. It also has mentions of other Twisted Love series characters... A very fun, captiving romantic read.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

so when’s the next book coming out??? 👀

in all seriousness, I think Ana Huang has become one of my newest favorite authors. I love a romance book with lots of smut, but I appreciate way more when there is an actual plot. I love seeing Dante and Vivian do normal things. I love seeing them banter. I love how both of them have complex family relationships. all these things had so much to the story.

also props to Ana for incorporating Chinese culture into this book. as someone who is Chinese, I felt a lot of what Vivian was going through with her family. it’s not so easy to just tell your parents to fuck off. Vivian is such a related character (though I’m not rich like her). I love that Vivian doesn’t come off as a spoiled rich brat, but she acknowledges how growing up rich gave her certain privileges that others don’t get.

overall, I really love this book!

would I recommend this book? ABSOLUTELY.

To be honest, I wasn't a massive fan of the previous books written by this author. This book on the other hand is a major upgrade from the previous books.
It had alot of tropes that i enjoyed such as arranged marriage, marriage of convenience, profanity and the mild violence!
The interactions and chemistry between the two main characters were fantastic and the highlight of the book for me.

This was a spicy captivating read! Dante and Vivian enter an arranged marriage agreement with a layer of blackmail. This enemy to lovers read will keep you hooked. Characters from the Twisted Love series are briefly intertwined which was a nice touch. Overall, this read is very similar to the Twisted Love series. There is dominance, protectiveness, revenge, family obligations/conflict, and romance within this one.

Thank you NetGalley for the ebook.

I LOVE BILLIONAIRE ROMANCE NOVELS.

There is just crack in anything Ana Huang writes. King of wrath is the first novel in a new series and boy does it start off great!

Vivian and Dante were amazing! Dante with the whole brooding grumpy billionaire attitude was fantastic. Just an amazing read! Can't wait for the next in the series!

Hands down my new favorite book. It's steamy, it's funny, it has everything. Ana Huang is a star. She could write a grocery list and I am first in line to get it. I can't wait for the next book.

He is ruthless, arrogant, and a billionaire who finds himself being blackmailed into marrying a jewelry heiress and the daughter of his newest enemy. Dante Russo thrives on being in control, he never planned or wanted to get married but when someone blackmails him into marrying their daughter or having his brother killed, Dante is forced to go along with it, all the while planning his revenge. She is elegant, well-mannered, and the perfect daughter. Vivian Lau loves her parents, she does everything to try and be perfect for them, even if it means forcing herself to do everything they ask including being married off to a man she doesn’t know and breaking up her relationship with her first love. Vivian just wants to make her parents happy, even at the cost of her own personal happiness. When her parents tell her they found her a perfect match and that they’ve arranged for the marriage for her, she is less than thrilled. Vivian wants to make the best of the situation but Dante makes it so hard. He just gets under her skin, he’s rude, arrogant, and dislikes her and she can’t figure out why. Meanwhile Dante is conflicted between his growing feelings for the wife he never wanted who has someone taken over his every thought and getting revenge against the main who threatens to kill his brother. Relationships are complicated and both Dante and Vivian are already starting off with a very complicated beginning. Family duty vs. following your heart, both Dante and Vivian will have to chose what they want and what they mean to each other. This is the spinoff series to Ana Huang’s previous Twisted Love series and characters from the previous books do make an appearance, however you can read it as a standalone and not be confused at all. I am so excited to see where the next book goes! Dante and Vivian were a fun couple and i liked how sweet but fierce Vivian was, she’s trying to make the best of a complicated situation but she won’t let anyone walk over her. Dante is a bit of a grumpy guy but he does have a softer side ( well only for Vivian) and it was a fun read!

Ana Huang is hands down one of the BEST NA romance writers currently! I was absolutely obsessed with her entire twisted series, and I can already tell this entire series will rival (if not beat) it! This story had everything you could want in a marriage of convenience book, and if you like dominating, hot Italian men, you will love the male MC #newbookboyfriend
