I loved this book! It's well-written, enjoyable, and a great read. The author did a great job of writing in a way that captures the readers attention, and makes you not want to put it down until you're finished! Phaedra Patrick's writing made me want to go stay in a little hotel in Italy!! I would highly recommend it!

Anytime a romance novel is set in Italy I am instantly hooked. I really enjoyed this story and how the characters grew from beginning to end.

I adore Phaedra Patrick and the characters here are charming. I wished, at times, that we could get to know each one in more depth but I did find the slow reveal to be interesting. I recommend this one! Read it.

The characters in this story won my heart, and I felt as though I was right there with them, exploring the beautiful landscapes of Italy. If you're in search of a delightful and charming read, look no further; this book is a must-read!

I loved the plot concept: Ginny goes on her anniversary trip with four strangers because her husband has a profile on a dating app and wants a divorce.
Adrian was a sot and jerk, I know what I thought Ginny should do especially after meeting hotelier Nico.
I liked how some chapters switched to other characters to give their stories an airing.
I didn’t like the ending because it left Ginny’s future up in the air. I prefer solid endings so I redid the ending in my head to reflect what I wanted to see happen.

Perfect Cozy read!

First the cover is absolutely fabulous, an attractive image to invite you in to a cozy story of healing and second chances. The characters were well developed and charming, each with their own story of heartache. The setting…Italy, (need I say more?) I really enjoyed how each person’s story was told through their heartbreak activity.

Definitely recommend for all my fellow feel good fiction fans! Also highly recommend all of Phaedra Patrick’s other wonderful books.

A view into how Ginny Splinter responds to an unexpected twist to what is planned as a 25th wedding anniversary trip and 50th birthday celebration. The people who find themselves traveling with Ginny to Italy are such a unique group of individuals. The way they learn to rely on each other as well as grow and change who they were when they first left on this adventure was touching. And while each of these travelers is experiencing heartache, you discover that there are different types a person can have. A touching read that I think should be on your to-be-read list.

A must read for the summer. This book will show you that love always wins. Ginny and her husband are having problems and he refuses to go on the vacation to Italy. Ginny goes and finds that she can function on her own but she misses him. The book takes place in Italy so it is so fun to read about the food and life in Italy.

What an absolutely quaint story about a woman figuring out her life in the middle of a crisis.
I love that the main character is an older woman. The fact her life is unfolding around her in a way she couldn't expect had me invested in her journey. I love that she's not perfect, that she was oblivious to the issues in her own life while helping others out...and I love that Italy is a huge part of this story. That in itself was why I picked up the book.
The descriptions, I felt like I was there.
The ending...it wasn't perfect, or something you could tie into a bow, which I thought for a moment it might have ended that way. I'm so glad the author didn't take the easy route, but instead kept it true and real to the character.

This was my first book by Phaedra, and I found it charming. The characters were unique and it was a nice, cozy read. I wouldn't say that it was my cup of tea all the way, but I did enjoy it.

This book was cute. A Delilah-esque radio host finds her whole world was dumped upside down when she realizes she might need to take some marriage advice of her own. She takes a troupe of forlorn listeners on a vacation meant for her and her husband, making friends and rediscovering herself and what she truly values in life.
There were parts that were a little slow, but the ending wrapped up nicely.

I am a sucker for books set in Italy, so naturally, I HAD to read this book. 'The Little Italian Hotel' follows our main character, Ginny Splinter, a well-known radio show host and advice expert. After her husband abruptly announces that he wants a divorce right before their 25th anniversary and trip to Italy, Ginny invites four heartbroken strangers to join her on their anniversary trip instead. What follows is a charming book with a lovable, eclectic cast of characters. This book explores several complex topics, and is full of thought-provoking and insightful discussions. It is about healing, growing, living in the present moment, and rediscovering yourself and your passions.

I loved the Italian setting, the cozy, quaint inn, and the characters. Despite being over half her age, unmarried, and childless, I feel like I related so much to the main character. All the characters had amazing character development, and their stories were so beautiful and emotional.

While I enjoyed this book, I feel it was a case of ‘right book, wrong time’ for me, and I think that if I had read it in a different mood, I would have loved it so much more. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a sweet, uplifting summer read!

The author of The Messy Lives of Book People has a new book out as well. I am a huge fan of an Italian setting so this one will definitely be added to my tar pile.

This was such a great feel good book. Ginny has an online advice show that is quite well known, she feels comfortable in her life and is getting ready to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary. One day on her show sets her life on a different path, a caller implies that her husband may not be who she thinks he is and her life may not be perfect; she cannot get that out of her head and then her husband when she tells him she has booked a three week vacation for them for their annversary says he wants time apart and perhaps a divorce. Ginny is shocked but then finds his online dating profile bringing it all together. The next on her show her anger gets the better of her and she offers to share her vacation with four strangers who are suffering from heartache, she tells her bodss to pick the winners and she will see them in Italy.

Once in Italy, Ginny meets her companions for the next three weeks, they couldnt be more different if they try. Over the next three weeks. they get to know one another and each pick an activity to heal their broken hearts. Slowly we see Ginny start to see that what she has wanted all along may not be what she really wants. I loved the interaction between the group and could picture myself there amoung them, quilting, playing bingo, laughing and enjoying the views of this quaint little hotel with its lovely owner and his daughter. I think the reason I enjoyed this book so much is it made me think of my trip to Italy and how we stayed at a small Agriturismo and loved it, it was so much better than a big hotel. It was the interaction with the owners and the other guests that made it so wonderful, just like the group in this book.

I enjoyed reading this book and will definitely check out more books by this author.

Who doesn't love a "finding yourself in Italy" story? The author depicts a relatable protagonist searching for happiness and meaning beyond solving everyone else's problems. Most people will see a part of themselves in this character. If not, you may relate to one of the other uniquely crafted minor characters that all suffer from some form of grief. This read was inspiring and hopeful and well worth putting on your TBR list!

So much angst and pain but in the midst of such a beautiful place. This is a journey through grief and the boundaries of love while also depicting a jaunt through all the italian countryside has to offer.

Phaedra Patrick's newest novel is so full of charm, insight, and just enough la dolce vita to remind me why I love Italy. Bellissimo!

OMG their stories...heartbreaking losses that had me ugly crying throughout. But don't get scared by my ugly crying the power in this book is astonishing. This book is about healing! This book is healing!

This book is also about the lesson that when you have helping hands along the way, the journey of grief becomes perhaps just the tiniest bit easier. As with The Secrets of Love Story Bridge, this story starts in sadness and a crisis but ends up a sweet, feel-good read with characters who make me smile.
