Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC digital copy. I was not compensated for this review and all opinions are my own.

Stuart Woods was a favorite author of mine. This latest title, however, fell short of my expectations. Unfortunately, I am unable to determine if it is due to this book needing a co-author or simply due to having read too many of the series to be as entertained as I have been previously.

3.5 rounded up to 4 out of 5 stars and my respect to the author's legacy.

It was okay. Started off slow and didn’t really grab my attention. Almost didn’t finish it. Just wasn’t for me.

Brett Battles is doing a great job creating new stories for the Stuart Woods series featuring Stone Barrington.
It’s been a long time since I last read a Stone Barrington story, but he is a wealthy man, who finds himself in
peril often, and he always walks away whole.
This was a busy story of greed and, well, obsession, with men wanting more, coveting their competitors and
having to figure out how to get what they want. Add an obsessed fan, and the kidnapping of a billionaire’s
wife and you have a well written and exciting story. The only thing I did not care for is the abrupt ending,
but overall, it’s good. I’d recommend for fans of the Stuart Woods books.
My thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for this downloaded copy in exchange for my honest review.

I finished this book in one day just like I have been doing with most of the Start Woods books for years and I have read them all going all the way back to the beginning of the Stone Barrington and even his or books. Glad these books will continue even after his death

Obsession is the 6th book in the Teddy Fay series. I have read all the Teddy Fay books as well as all the other books in the Stuart Woods series. The story takes place in Santa Barbara, CA. Teddy Fay is a man who worked for the CIA and left under unusual circumstances. He now works at Centurion Studio for Peter Barrington and Ben Bacchetti They were childhood friends whose father's are Stone Barrington, a lawyer and Dino Bacchetti commissioner of NYC police.

Teddy has two alias's Mark Weldon, actor and Billy Barrett, producer of the movie Storm's Eye. Peter, Ben and Stone and a few others are the only ones who know who he really is. He as Billy goes with Stone to ,meet Carl Novack, a billionaire who is interested in going into the movie business and is looking for someone to do business with. His lawyer, Richard Mori is also there. They are waiting for Carl's wife but she is a no show.

Rebecca Novack is out doing errands when she is kidnapped. by Zoran Janic who blames Carl Novack for his brother's death when they were young in Croatia. He sends his cousin Neno Bilic along with Sava Kotda and
Pavel Dodic who work for him to come to the U.S. to do his bidding. They send a video of Rebecca to Carl. He calls Billy Barrett and Stone back to review the video. He asks Billy if he knew someone who could help him get his wife back. Billy tells him that he knows someone but must talk to him first. This is where Teddy plays both people.

Matthew Wagner has a crush on a movie star, Tess Tweed Bacchetti, who is Ben's wife. He is obsessed with her and plans to make her love him. He makes plans on how he can meet her by setting off fake gun shots. He pretends to save two of her friends, Adriene, another actress and Logan, Billy's assistant. This opens a door for him to get on the movie set.

This is where the story takes on two different subjects. One is the kidnapping of Rebecca and her return and the other is Matthew's obsession of Tess. There is so much that this story is telling the reader that I am not able to put it all on paper. I will leave it to the reader to find out and enjoy to the unusual ending.

I love Teddy and all the twists and turns of his character.

Thank you NetGalleiy and G..P. Putnam's Sons for this ARC.

Master of disguise Teddy Fay returns in Obsession, the latest thriller by Stuart Woods co-written with Brett Battles. While producers Peter Barrington and Ben Bacchetti (Woods fans will recognize these surnames) are filming on location, they meet Carl Novak, a mysterious tech billionaire with a shady past. That past catches up with him when his beautiful wife, former model Rebecca is kidnapped. He asks Teddy to investigate and the wild ride (literally) that is Obsession begins! If you like car chases, break-ins, handsome men and beautiful women, this quick read is the book for you! 5 stars.

Sadly, Stuart Woods died in 2022. I am assuming that Brett Battles either co-authored or helped finish this book. I hope he continues with both the Teddy Fay and Stone Barrington series because he has Woods’s style down pat. Kudos!

Thank you to NetGalley, PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, Stuart Woods and Brett Battles for this ARC.

I always devour a Stuart Woods book immediately! Another one that did not disappoint featuring my favorite Teddy Fay (or one of his two aliases)...which keeps it fun as he trades out appearances. Two simultaneous stories, a stalker fan and a kidnapping,,,with a few cameos by Stone, of course. Stuart writes a lot and I am thankful I won't have to wait long for a new book!

This started off with a kidnapping, and was quickly followed up by murders, a car chase and hotel break-ins. The action takes place in several locales, foreign and domestic, with a multitude of characters. The fact that the main character had several different disguises added to the complexity. Because of the excellent character development, and storytelling skills of the two authors, I managed to keep things straight as the multi themes unraveled.

I want to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to read Obsession before publication.

This did not have the overall quality of the authors previous works, perhaps because of the co-author. Nevertheless, the book was a quick and enjoyable read. Not wanting to break from my tradition of five-star ratings from this author and hoping there will be no more co-written books, I give this a five-star rating.

Obsession is the latest Stuart Woods novel and is concerned with the making of a movie on location in Santa Barbara and of businessmen from Croatia who have a desire to become involved in the film industry. Along the way there are murders, a kidnapping, car chases and clever methods of uncovering those responsible.

While not as interesting as reading about Stone Barrington (he has a very minor role in this novel) and the multitude of women who end up in his bed, this book is quick reading but easily forgettable.

I thank NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read and review this novel prior to its publication.

I think I’ve missed a couple of teddy fay books in the series but this one takes the cake for his level of multitasking. So many irons in the fire but he manages to work it all out. I’ve always thought the teddy story line would make a good movie with all of his disguises and the constant action. Very well done. I read this in 24 hours while getting a good nights sleep and working a full day. I always like how quick Stuart Woods books read.
