In summary, "Drowning" is an emotional and intense survival story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. However, the book's technical issues hindered my interest and interrupted the flow of the narrative. If you can overlook these aspects, the gripping storyline and the race against time make it worth a read.

Going into this book I was nervous because Falling was lack luster to me.....HOWEVER Drowning was not! This book grabbed my attention & kept it the entire story. This book gave me all the angst I was looking for. Would definitely recommend. The only issue I had was it was sometimes too technical for me, but that's a personal thing. Received this initially as an ARC from NetGalley.

Why do I feel like this really could happen? I couldn’t breathe when I read this book and had to read it in little bursts as my heart rate kept rising. Kudos to the author for keeping me engaged and praying it would all work out in the end!

So good. Sooooooososososo good. As riveting as “Falling” but in a totally different way. I couldn’t put it down, my heart was beating out of my chest, and the ending had me crying my heart out. 10/10.

In return for an honest review, I received this ARC.
RUN to get a copy of this book. From page one to the end it is a ride. It is rare I get a book I don't want to put or stay up late reading...this is it.
How do you survive a plane crash let alone the sinking of the plane? What do you do if your family is stuck inside a crashed plane alive and you are an expert in underwater engineering and know you can rescue them? The edge of seat story will keep you reading.

TJ Newman, in her follow up to Falling, has woven a brilliant thriller that will make readers never want to get back on an airplane. She has created a brilliant universe that will have readers hooked from the first chapter. She is one of the best new writers working today, and has written what is sure to be a contender for best book of the year.

I saw so many great reviews on this book so I went in with high expectations, and they were met!
This book kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time! Just when you thought you knew what direction it was heading in, you got thrown off course. It was a journey reading this!
I'm already wary when it comes to flying, I do not enjoy it at all. This gives another GREAT reason not to step foot on a plane. It's everybody's worst nightmare.
Imagine your plane going down and you're on board with your child! It would bring a whole new level of fear! Then imagine being on that plane, and it sinking to the bottom of the ocean and you're trapped inside with oxygen running out and all rescue attempts are failing. It literally gives me anxiety thinking about it.
The author did a brilliant job of setting a scene and creating characters that were relatable and lovable.
I can't recommend this thriller enough. It got me out of a slump! I'm eager to read the authors other novel, Falling!
Thankyou to NetGalley, Avid Reader Press and T.J.Newman for this ARC in exchange for a review!

Wow! Just wow! This one was even better than her first! So exciting and riveting that even when I wasn’t reading I was wondering what the hell was gonna happen next! Many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

Help! I gave Falling five stars, but I loved Drowning even more.
I can't say it enough: go read this book right now.
TJ Newman is an absolute master. I can't even find the words to describe how good she is with words. This audiobook had me sitting on my kitchen floor in tears as I packed for a trip, because Newman's prose pulled me right into the plane with those passengers.
It honestly blows me away that she writes about plane crashes as a flight attendant, but she certainly knows her stuff! If you haven't read both of Newman's books, you are missing out. If you loved Falling, you'll love Drowning just as much. Falling and Drowning are completely separate books--the former about a plane hijacking and the latter about a plane crash. While the concepts are similar, each book is entirely unique and equally incredible.
Someone pick this up for a movie, I'd love to see it on screen.
TJ, please write your next book as quickly as possible. I can't wait!

A plane takes off leaving Hawaii heading for the mainland. Suddenly there's a problem and the plane plummets into the ocean. Many will perish. Only a few will survive. This book focuses on the people left in the plane after it falls into the ocean and the people who make it their mission to rescue the survivors. But, the question is, will everyone survive or is the rescue going to turn into a recovery mission?
T.J. Newman uses her knowledge as a former flight attendant and a great storyteller to give the reader and edge of your seat, nail biting experience. She, once again, knocks it out of the park.

I won a copy of Tj Newman's first novel Falling and loved it. I don't think I realized that she was a former flight attendant (which now totally makes sense). Drowning is a thriller about an airplane that crashes and then through a series of unfortunate events, ends up sinking to the bottom of the ocean with the passengers locked inside. Thankfully there is a rescue team and it just so happens that their leader is mom and wife to two of the passengers.
It's not necessarily a thriller but it is super suspenseful and so much buildup. I would find myself holding my breath from time to time reading this!
I hope this gets turned into a movie because it would be so great!

EVER SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER WATCHING THE DISASTER MOVIES OF THE SEVENTIES, I HAVE LOVED THIS TYPE OF STORY AND YOU DON’T FIND MANY OF THIS CALIBER ANYMORE.
WHAT A JOY THIS NOVEL WAS. APLANE CRASHS INTO THE OCEAN, WITH A HANDFUL OF SURVIVORS TRAPPED INSIDE DESPERATELY TRYING TO STAY ALIVE TILL A RESCUE MISSION ARRIVES.
A TEAM OF EXPERTS TRYING TO COME UP WITH A RESCUE MISSION AND A WIFE AND MOTHER OF TWO OF THE PASSENGERS TRYING TO CONVINCE SOMEONE THAT SHE HAS THE SKILLS TO HELP.
THANK YOU NETGALLEY AND AVID READER PRESS FOR ALLOWING ME A CHANCE TO READ AND REVIEW THIS NOVEL.

"Drowning" was an intense, quickly-paced thriller. The action and the story were so compelling that I just could not put it down. I read it in only two sessions. Definitely a must-read for summer.

Wow! This one had me at go! I was reading at a lake eith others and had to put it down because I was about to get emotional! It was Chapter 1! I knew it would only get me more from there. The story is faced paced and you learn so much about planes, and rescues, and the ocean. Probably much more than you want to know and still fly again!

This is the second book I've read by this author. As with her first book, Falling, this book draws on all her years of experience as a Flight Attendant. I really hope nothing like this has ever happened on any of her flights though! We're on Flight 1421 when it crashes only minutes after take off, into the Pacific. Most of the passengers miraculously survive, but when there is an explosion, some of the passengers are forced to stay back on the plane and shut the doors. When it starts to fill with water and sink, will a rescue team get to them in time?
The action begins right at the very first page and doesn't let up until the end. I followed their plight all the way through with bated breath, waiting to see what would happen to the passengers left behind on the plane. I liked the characters, some you really liked and rooted for, others you love to hate but there was definitely a decent amount of differing characters throughout. The storyline moved along at a great pace with no time in between chapters to catch your breath. I'd like to think that the plot is a little far fetched, but planes crash and these things may happen. The author has used her extensive knowledge as a Flight Attendant to make it as factual and truth to life as possible, and it was great to experience all the "behind the scenes" parts which as a passenger you wouldn't normally get to see!
It was fast paced, exciting, thrilling and a little bit scary, all rolled into one! It's definitely one hell of a page turner, but just don't choose it as your in-flight read! Would recommend!!

A high octane thrill ride that delivers! Really enjoyed this quick read and was rooting for the characters throughout. Not surprised to hear it’s on it’s way to film, will be a summer blockbuster for sure!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this copy of Drowning.
Before you start this book make sure you have a few hours, this is a page turner. Fast paced with lots of action and very likable characters.
Will is accompanying his daughter Shannon from their home in Hawaii to San Francisco when flight 1421 crashes into the ocean 6 minutes after take off. There is no other option than to crash the plane and hope for the best. The plane catches fire and disaster ensues. Will the rescuers get to the passengers in time?

This has lots of high ratings already, as does the author, and I don't have anything new to add, so I'll just recommend it.
Thanks very much for the free copy for review!!

Wow talk about unputdownable! I loved “Falling” and it’s fast pacing and “Drowning” was no different! I couldn’t even imagine being trapped in a plane in the ocean and it honestly makes me not want to fly anymore! I loved that the author was a flight attendant so that adds a lot of originality and genuine knowledge to the book. Def give this nonstop thriller a ride!

Having loved and rated Falling by the same author 5 stars recently i was so pleased when i was approved for a copy in return for an honest review...
I can only say this one was as good as Falling, it is amazing that TJ Newman was a flight attendant, it is so noticeable with the intricate information on the flight and off the flight of this one.
In this one we follow our main character when her flight goes down and lands on the sea, it alternates between many timelines which is one of my fave things in a thriller, so we get present as the crash has happened and 3 months later.
I loved this and listened to it on audio, woulg highly recommend - 5 stars again
