Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. A murder mystery with a kick, where the convicted-murderer is either innocent and framed or playing an elaborate trick. A page-turner to the end.

A storm comes in essentially stranding the family before they know what is going on. A long night of fear and surprises leads to the much anticipated answers, but maybe they weren’t the answers they hoped.
Georgina Cross did a great job creating that spooky uncertain atmosphere while keeping you guessing. I kind of guessed some of the twists but definitely not all of them. I did find a few of the characters hard to sympathize with but for the most part enjoyed the storyline.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine for the eARC! This started off strong, so atmospheric! I was loving it and so excited for things to get into gear. The set up was intriguing, but as an avid thriller reader I found it to be fairly predictable. Someone who hasn’t read many thrillers or is just starting to will adore this!

"One Night" was all I needed to devour this thriller from Georgina Cross. Ten years ago, the beautiful and vivacious Meghan was killed in the prime of her life. Her teen boyfriend, Cal, despite proclaiming his innocence, was convicted of her killing and sent to prison. Flash forward to the present day, when Meghan's entire family receives mysterious invitations to meet at a remote Oregon home for the weekend. Coincidentally, Cal has recently been released from prison. Is he responsible for organizing this twisted family reunion, and will he finally admit to his part in Meghan's murder?
As the family gathers for the weekend, a violent storm begins brewing in the Pacific Northwest. The power cuts out, and then Cal's unconscious body is discovered in a vehicle near the house. Was Cal the instrument of this horrific weekend.....or was he invited as well?
As the storm rages on and Cal remains unconscious, paranoia and suspicions arise. Everyone seems to have something to hide, and everyone becomes a suspect in this family drama. Will Cal regain consciousness and be able to shed some light on what really happened a decade ago....or will the REAL killer finish him off before he has a chance?
Although I found this story a little predictable, I will always be a sucker for a killer wandering around a dark house during a violent storm. Cross is a consistently strong author for me, and "One Night" was no different. Definitely check this one out if you are looking for a quick, easy, and fun read!

This is a book that makes you think about life and consequences to ones actions. It is a though provoking book that will have you thinking about the story long after you finish it. The character develop is done well. You feel for every character and what they are thinking and how they are reacting.

A solid three star twisty thriller that will keep you engaged. I enjoyed the plot, however I wasn't a huge fan of the twist at the end, I was hoping for something better.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars that I'm rounding up to 4 simply because it's been a long time since I've had the focus to read, and this one kept me engaged, kept me guessing, I didn't go out looking for spoilers and was able to just let the reading experience carry me along. Lots of family conflict, secrets and intrigue. Everyone is suspect. The setting this takes place in makes one nervous and jumpy. I just really enjoyed it.

I loved Nanny Needed so I was excited about this one coming out. I like that you see the story from so many different perspectives and the writing was ok, but overall I wanted more from this thriller. I figured everything out pretty early and there weren’t any herrings strong enough to shake that. The beginning was fairly strong, but I didn’t think the ending was as good (in fact I found some parts to be downright unrealistic and take me away from any enjoyment I was having. 10 years ago Meghan was murdered. Her boyfriend at the time, Cal, went to prison for that murder but has recently been released. When the whole family gets mysterious notes inviting them to an Oregon beach house to find out the full truth of what happened to Meghan they come. But when a horrible storm comes in they are stranded and it’s clear there are more secrets than they know. Overall I gave it 3.5 stars.

Answers and revenge are at the center of this twisty thriller. Throw in a secluded cabin and family drama and you have quite the suspenseful read. It’s complex plot and well thought out characters. I really had no idea who was at the center of this one.

Great setup, fun plot, evocative setting, but the pacing started to drag at the end. With so few characters, I wanted a better twist at the end.

One family. One night. Countless secrets.
When the Chisholms receive invitations to a beach house in Bandon, OR, Maureen (the matriarch) is sure the plan has been laid by Cal. 10 years before, he was convicted of murdering Maureen's oldest daughter, Meghan. Still feeling the aftermath of that tragic night, Sam, the youngest sister, begs her family to go. She's desperate for the truth about what happened to her sister.
Paul and his new wife, Rebecca (along with uncle Geoff) aren't so sure Cal's guilty. And middle daughter Alice isn't sure what she believes but she's almost certain she doesn't want to be stranded for a long weekend with her family.
With a storm raging outside and accusations flying through the air inside the idyllic beach house, all it takes is one night for 6 lives to change forever.

This was an “on the edge of your seat” kinda story for me. Loved it. Thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc in exchange of an honest review. Sorry for the delay, I fell a little behind.

DNF at 65%, unfortunately. Nothing has happened up until this point except a pseudo-family reunion in a coastal home, and a ridiculous storm (that, to be frank, would have been way more believable as a snowstorm). There’s NO WAY that a coastal home would be shaking in the wind and having windows shatter page after page. Any New Englander could tell you that. Cliff houses are reinforced to the max.
There’s been no actual progress made on the mystery of who invited everyone; there are way too many ridiculous assumptions being made; and good gracious, the mom is a terrible human trying to kill Cal when he’s literally dying.
Perhaps one day I’ll go back and finish. But for now I’m putting it down. Every page reads like it’s an emergency…without differentiating what’s actually important so it all runs together.

This book started out strong and had me excited to read more. Then it became pretty predictible and fell flat. The characters are all unlikable, which actually made for an interesting read with all their secrets. Some of them felt underdeveloped and I wanted more of their side of the story. Overall this was just an ok read for me. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC of this bookl

Wowww this was a great twisty thriller. I flew through this and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Love the premise of all being in a secluded home together and it was a really fun who-done-it. Can’t wait to keep an eye out for more books from the author.

One Night by Georgina Cross is a family drama/locked room mystery. The story is for the point of view of several different family members. This book made me very anxious because I had to know what happened and who did it! I read it at a breathtaking pace to get to the end and the final reveal. I enjoy locked room mysteries and this is one of the best! Add in a secluded house in Oregon and a devastating storm and you’ve got a very thrilling read! do yourself a favor and check out this complicated family drama/mystery/murder book! Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I love locked room thrillers and I love Georgina Cross's books. This one really makes you think what would you do if you had a chance to get revenge for your child's murder.

I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. The downfall was that I requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before the book was archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A family with 3 daughters. One turn up murdered after a local bonfire. Some one spends time in prison for the crime, but did they commit the murder? A classes locked room, who done it thriller. I would say this was a little bit of a slow burn but had my interest the whole time. I though I had it pinned done who done it and was completely blindsided by the ending

The premise of the book isn't different or unique but drew me in- while starting off strong the execution ultimately fell a bit flat. It's was a decent read but not terribly memorable
