The premise of this book was so unique and interesting. The story was designed in a way that kept me guessing throughout the book. I was never sure who or what to trust. I couldn’t put this book down!

Hmm, this book started off so well. I really loved the setup - a family is lured out to a cabin only to find a creepy dinner party displayed. Only, the creepy dinner party never happened; a storm pops up, knocks out the lights and we are presented with a generic locked room mystery instead. I didn't find much mystery here. It was quite obvious from the beginning who was behind everything. I found the 3 sisters to be so silly and annoying, that I kept equating them with the Chipettes - Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor. The ending was unsurprising. It's a shame because I really looked forward to reading this. 2 stars.

I knew it! I knew who was the killer and how everything went so out of control. But I didn't expect everything in between. There were so many red herrings that will make you scratch your head and think "maybe I'm not on the right track". Georgina Cross knows how to mess up with your brain, and I'm all about it :)

Eldest of the three sisters was murdered. Boyfriend was the main suspect. There wasn't much to discuss when the evidence and eye witness statements put him as the last person to see Meghan. He was sentenced. But now he was out. Every member of the family and the boyfriend got red envelopes asking them to meet at once a happy place for the family. They were told that they would learn about what actually happened to Meghan.

Family dynamics, relationship and connection between sisters, parents' levels of attention on each children drove the main storyline in this book. I don't know what I can say more without giving away any clues, but you should always be scared of the quiet one.

I wanted to read more locked-room mysteries, and 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 fulfilled that wish with its atmospheric setting and creepy vibes.

Ten years ago seventeen-year-old Meghan was found dead; her boyfriend Cal was arrested and sent to prison for her murder - but now he is released.

Meghan’s family receives invitations to gather at a secluded home on Oregon’s rugged coast. As they arrive, they are shocked to see that their absent host has prepared for their arrival - food, a table set for dinner, even some of Meghan’s things are here. Some are convinced it’s Cal, until they find him injured in his car.

Do they help Cal? Is he Meghan’s murderer or does he have answers as to who called them all together - who has them isolated and alone?

I had to know who did it, and I did have a gut feeling. I loved how you could feel the tension, not only from the fear of who might be watching them but from within the family dynamics as well. It made for a quick, eerie, and exciting read!

I enjoyed the writing and the unexpected twists and turns this book took me, and I was definitely hooked from the premise. I enjoyed the short chapters which moved the story quickly as well as the multiple POVs and an atmospheric locked room mystery.

So this is my first time reading Georgina Cross and I can't wait to pick up more of her stuff and really get a feel for her writing.

Thriller lovers will want to pick this one up Locked room mystery, and the characters are sooooo easy to like...but can we trust them?

Picture this - beach house, takes place over ONE day and night but has tons of flashbacks to give you insight into that situation. I would almost think I had it figured out and then BOOM, nope. I was wrong.

I read a lot of thrillers and the storylines will often leave my mind pretty quickly. This book was NOT like that. I finished this a month ago and still remember all of the details. It was twisty and wild, with a shock ending! If you enjoy a family drama mixed with murder, this book is for you!

This is the perfect gothic, tense locked room mystery that will leave you wanting more on every page!
The dark atmosphere was the perfect setting for the story plus a large group of unlikeable characters made for a fun drama filled read.
You’ll think you had it all figured it out 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋 that one final twist 🤯

I didn’t love or hate this book, but it was a very slow burn that in some chapters seemed to drag out. I do like this author and I love the Nanny Needed.

I love this kind of dark, creepy setting and a story that keeps me guessing who did what, I thought I had it figured it out but that last twist took me by surprise.

I absolutely loved this book, once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. Thank you so much for the ARC.

This book was almost too chaotic and felt like it was building to something bigger than it was. The increased perspectives at the end made this feel a bit forced. Definitely some tense moments that make this book a thriller, just generally not my favorite.

I was recommended this book because I have read from Georgina Cross before. I DNF'ed it but only because it felt similar to Daisy Darker (which I really didn't like). It was too similar of a set up and I read that too recently to be unbiased. I did skip ahead to see 'whodunnit' and was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I think the writing was still good and I would not hesitate to read another Georgina Cross book. This was just a personal gripe.

One Night was a book that didn't hook me at first but as it starting getting deeper into the book it became a classic who did it book? I had keep reading and had to find out who the killer was. Family drama, accusations, ex husband drama. This book was good. I did want more from the ending. I wish that it could of been drug out more but overall it was a good fast paced read.

I listened to Georgina's last novel, Nanny Needed, and devoured it! So I was looking forward to reading One Night. Thank you to @netgalley /publisher for this copy!

I read this book in 24 hours. The build-up of the story mixed with the storm that moved in kept me engaged, along with alternating povs and short chapters.

I did end up calling the twists and ending. I'm going to recommend this one for those that maybe aren't seasoned thriller/mystery readers. Also, go in blind! Nonetheless, a good locked-room mystery.

Unfortunately I found this to be dreadfully slow and I had to DNf 20% in. I will Try this author again

Locked room (house), rainy weather, and a possible killer? Count me in! I ate this one up and felt like I was flying through it! We have quite a few characters, but I enjoyed getting to hear all of their perspectives. Everyone had a motive or reason to get rid of Meghan and I couldn’t decide who the killer was going to be. It was interesting with the will they / won’t they go after Cal.

For me, the ending felt like it ended abruptly and I wished we would have gotten an epilogue as I want to know what happened.
