While I did enjoy the novel, at times I felt like there was too much going on, too many subplots, too many characters to keep track of. The writing is excellent though. Will definitely keep an eye out for other projects by this author.

I had trouble getting invested with this one, or caring about the main characters. The ending was silly and convenient. It came out of left field and just felt so over the top that I couldnt look past it. This was readable and will be a hit for others, it just wasnt for me.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

On a Quiet Street was one of my favorite reads last year, so I was very excited to start The Vanishing Hour. Although not as addictive as her previous book, I still found myself invested in the atmospheric mystery. The beginning was a little hard to get into because you're interested to multiple points of view and I wasn't sure how the three were going to come together as a cohesive plot. I also didn't love the switches from 1st person and 3rd person POVs. Yet, after a disjointed beginning, the mystery really started to grab my interest. I didn't really suspect where the book was going and the ending did surprise me although I wasn't sure it was completely believable.

Unfortunately couldn’t get into this book. The way it was written wasn’t for me.
Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. In exchange for honest review.

THE VANISHING HOUR isn't a suspense thriller that's going to recreate the wheel, but it knows its strengths and runs with them head first. It has a pretty cool setting and plot right from the start. There are multiple POVs (which is always a way to lure me on in), but they did sort of confuse me at first. It took a bit to get into the groove of their POVs switching and wondering how, and if, their stories were going to weave together. There are some pretty good twists, and some might find them predictable (not me, though... the author got me here!) but I think it all goes off the rails in the best way at the end. I am definitely interested in more from Glass and I can see why there are so many fans of this author!

Free ebook from NetGalley, review is my own.

I really enjoyed this book! I picked this up because a) thriller b) the character shares my name which is a rarity!

Kira is a mom with a missing child and she wont stop till she finds her or finds out what happened. This is quick thriller that has some turns and leaves you guessing. I did not love the romance thrown in, didn't think it was necessary and honestly was distracting. There is a serial killer, insta love doesnt seem like a priority. Outside of that though I really liked the plot and though Grace was the weakest character and her actions not totally aligning to her thoughts, I would recommend to everyone!

Really enjoy thrillers set on a barely populated town. Books with only a few characters are good for me because it’s easy to keep track and get invested in the characters.

The Vanishing Hour is a meticulously crafted domestic thriller that explores the impact of secrets and the distressing impact people are willing to go to in order to protect them.

Set against the backdrop of Rock Harbor, Maine, the novel introduces us to Grace Holloway, a resilient woman who has chosen a life of solitude after narrowly escaping a horrifying abduction.

Trying to move forward with her life, currently employed as the manager of an inn in the heart of town, she has embraced this chance to be alone to protect her from her painful past. The inn has not only given her refugee but a place where what has happened to her and her memories can stay buried from the world.

Her world begins to tilt as a series of disappearances grips this small town. Young women with similar identities as when she first was abducted, have been vanishing with no clues to their whereabouts making the town grow on edge. As local law enforcement investigates the disappearances, there is a discovery of connection to Grace that forces her to confront a past reliving her trauma. Gathering the strength and putting her fears aside, she gives information that possibly holds the key to unlocking a secret that will change that town forever.

This was a good thriller that unfolded at a pace that keeps your interest wanting to know more. The alternating point of view and the intensity of the other characters built tension that made this a page turner. The setting of the book played an important role that created that sense of isolation that embraced the plot magnifying that chilling undertone. As the plot unfolds, a maze of suspense and suspicion, with plot twists and turns, taking unexpected directions keep you guessing until the final revelation.

This book, wow!

If you're looking for a thriller to run you through a ringer of red herrings and emotions, look no further.

The Vanishing Hour is a story of a community, told from the perspective of its residents, and the dark secrets that lurk beneath the surface. All of the clues culminate into on big twist and the ending will leave you speechless and a little heartbroken with "what ifs". Seraphina Nova Glass is a force and I'm so thankful I was able to read this in advance!

What a terrific storyteller! I've read all of her books and each is better than the last! Riveting and keeps me glued to my seat!

Wow! This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and it won’t be the last. I liked the balance struck between the story being character driven and plot driven. I felt Kira’s pain and desperation as she moves Heaven and earth to find her daughter Brooke. I also enjoyed the connections between the POV characters and how they all came together.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC! This was a page Turner with multiple POVs. Definitely suspenseful and engaging albeit having a predictable ending.

This book hooked me from the start and didn't let up. Loved everything about it. I also loved the last book this author put out. highly recommend as it has nonstop action, is highly addicting and doesn't let you down.

This was so entertaining on audio. Dual perspectives and twisty. Would recommend for thriller fans. Really enjoyed how all of the different characters were intertwined and made for a great book.

I came to love Seraphina Nova Glass pretty quickly after I read 2 of her books and realized she is basically the queen of taking popular thriller tropes and turning them into something you wouldn't expect. On a Quiet Street and Such a Good Wife both blew me away, so I had really high expectations going into The Vanishing Hour. I loved the way the author ended up combining the different storylines and characters into one, and the viewpoints were all interesting. Kira definitely ended up being my favorite of them all, and I couldn't help but love the way she refused to sit back and wait for the police to find her daughter. She also did her sleuthing in a very realistic way which is something I could appreciate.

The audiobook is narrated by the outstanding Brittany Pressley, and I thought she did a really great job with all of the different POVs she had to tackle. The unnamed POV went a way I really wasn't expecting, and she even did a great job changing her voice for that one! Although there is a man's viewpoint (Aden) and a female narrator, I loved Pressley all the same and this is an audio I would definitely recommend. The Vanishing Hour is full of secrets and tension, and I was very antsy to find out how things would end for Grace and the other characters. The downside I had with this book was that I basically immediately guessed who the kidnapper was, and there were a few other things that ended up being predictable for me. The climax wasn't everything I had been hoping for which brought down my rating, but overall, I still thoroughly enjoy the ride and love this author just as much as when I started.

Eerie from page one, this thriller hit all the beats I love most in the genre--mystery, chills, complexity, twists. A beautifully written wild ride.

Jaw dropping twists, multiple suspects, and red herrings galore! TVH made for a delightfully suspenseful and twisty psychological thriller!

Multiple POV’s with distinct storylines, palpably gritty scene setups, and superbly written character backstories; both kept me genuinely IN the story, ready for what happened next!

My only issue was the ending - it was a little over the top in a citizens gone rogue sort of way, and there were specific instances where the storyline direction didn’t feel necessary or seem real. I wanted a stronger ending, but the first 90% of the book, to me, was VERY well done. Glass’s suspenseful timing is unmatched!

Overall, I flew through this and was genuinely invested in the outcome of the story. I’ll definitely be looking into more of Glass’s work! Add this one to your fall thriller TBR for sure!

It took a while for me to get into this book. I started and stopped it a few times and read other books instead. There were multiple POVs which works in a lot of books but felt like too much in this one. Things are wrapped up in the end but it's a little convenient.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
