Kira’s daughter Brooke has vanished, but Brooke isn’t the only one missing.

I wanted to love this so much. I felt very confused during a good portion of reading which could have been intentional. I think there were too many holes in the plot and unanswered questions by the end. I found the multiple POVs as a hinder to the plot at times rather than an aid.

In Rock Harbor, Maine, young women are disappearing. They are there one moment and gone the next. The rumor is they go missing during “vanishing hour” in an area of town where the witnesses are scarce, and most people are asleep. The story is told from three different points of view. One of which is Grace, a young woman that takes care of an inn and has a haunting past. The other two are not mentioned in the book synopsis so I will not include them here to avoid spoilers.

I love books with multiple POVs that don’t seem to connect at first and then suddenly they connect. Seraphina Nova Glass does just that in this book. Each storyline goes in a completely different direction than I expected, then eventually they all come together in a way that is just perfect. This is a fast-paced, expertly woven thriller and that’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from Nova Glass. I highly recommend it to anyone that also likes complicated thrillers. This one is jaw-dropping and will have you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to read Nova Glass’s next book! 4/5 stars.

This book completely took me by surprise! It had a nice element of mystery and romance. and it kept me wondering and guessing throughout. I did enjoy the big twist! and most of the characters were very well written and thought out. This book would be excellent for a book club or a buddy read! Lots of topics to discuss.

I loved this! After reading On A Quiet Street I had high expectations.
This was the perfect mystery - just enough characters to keep you skeptical of each one, but not too many that its overwhelming. Loved the multiple points of view and the story always had something going on - was never dragging. Super short, to the point which I like as well. Highly recommend - a perfect thriller to keep you on your toes, and nothing that really makes you roll your eyes like its so far fetched.
Characters were likable enough too, none that particularly annoyed me or make me not want to root for them.

This was a good mystery that was easily digestible.

When Adens father goes missing, he finds himself in a web of missing people and the people that love them.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book, the characters, the mystery, the intertwined stories, the emotional content underneath it all. This is a fast read. I did not have things totally figured out before the ending reveal which is always the sign of a strong thriller for me! I was shocked at the ending. Highly recommend! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

Kira’s daughter Brooke has vanished. Kira will leave no stone unturned in her frantic search to
find her. Even if that means pointing a finger at those she loves.

But Brooke isn’t the only missing person in this small vacation town.

Told from multiple POV’s with concurrent storylines (my favorite kind of thriller) that merge for
(what a I hoped would be) an explosive ending...but fell just short.

I wanted to love this one as I’ve enjoyed this author’s work in the past. Unfortunately there
were too many instances that just gave me pause. Like a jig saw puzzle where all the pieces
don’t quite fit properly.
Each character suddenly had a moment that wasn’t consistent with how they were portrayed.
The ending just didn’t add up for me as well.

Since I’ve been a huge fan of this author in the past I’m chalking this one up to a one off and I’ll
be reaching for her next as soon as it’s available!

Seraphina Nova Glass is my new favorite writer. The Vanishing Hour is told by various narrators and made me question everything. This mystery/suspense kept me guessing and I was always guessing wrong. Highly recommend this one. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this and provide an honest review.

Thank you to the author and netgalley for the chance to read this early.

Quick little pet peeve, I absolutely love multiple POVs but the different narrative styles 2 in third person and 1 in first person really threw me off and I still don’t understand why that was done.

This story was very intriguing but an extremely slow burn of a plot. I found my self enjoying the characters banter and the random sexual tension that was so unnecessary since we have a killer on the loose then the actual plot.

While I did figure out the twist, I wouldn’t say it was slap in the face obvious.

Overall, if you’re new to thrillers this is a perfect introduction to the genre and is dark enough to spook you but not incredibly intense.

Grace is hiding from her past but is forced to face it when many women are disappearing. Who is taking them? Could it be the same person who took her?

I loved this book. It was a page turner. I felt like I came to know each of the characters.

The Vanishing Hour - Seraphina Nova Glass

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.

The main character in this novel, Grace, runs a small Maine inn, and she keeps to herself, not getting close to those who visit her establishment. What no one, other than Grace knows is that she has a secret, a reason to hold everyone at a distance.

As a series of girls continue to disappear from town, Grace's life quakes, as she realizes that she may need to break her silence. Even her isolation may be at risk, as she finds herself drawn to a gentle man who is staying at the inn during a quiet time of the year.

I love the way Seraphina Nova Glass writes, she is one of my favorites. This author posesses the rare gift of true storytellers, as reading her books imparts the feeling of a friend telling you a tale about an unusual event she experienced, and what could be better than that?

Giving this one 4 stars, it was as enjoyable as one would expect, however, I cannot help but find being a Innkeeper a contrary occupation for someone who is basically a hermit who doesn't want to encounter others. Strangers would be walking through her door almost daily, and that seems an unimaginable situation for someone seeking isolation.

Until next time...

If you can’t find safe haven in Rock Harbor…
I blow through psychological thrillers, left and right, but I found myself savoring this one. A woman hiding out seems to find more trouble wherever she goes. Is it her? Is it the Harbor? It kept me guessing, and well entertained.
Creepy seaside town beach read.

Grace Holloway narrowly escapes her kidnapper years ago. She is now the caretaker of an Inn in that same small town in Maine. She keeps to herself until there are more young girls, similar to her in looks and age, disappearing. She likes the solitary life keeping to herself and the off season at the Inn.

Grace becomes entangled in the lives of Aden, the handsome son that is looking for his father who also disappears near where the young girls have been last seen and Kira, the distraught Mother of Brooke, who was last seen at the same place as another young girl and Aden’s father.

The three come together to figure out what is happening and they never expect what is about to unfold and how closely they are all tied together.

This is a very suspenseful and twisty story. I thought it was well written and definitely intertwined many characters within the small town. I would definitely read this author again.

This book was GOOOOD!!! It follows a woman who escaped her kidnapper years ago. Now, she works at a motel and keeps completely to herself. That is until there is a missing girl with a story very similar to her own and she finds herself needing to help find her.
This was a quick read, told un multiple viewpoints. I found myself getting attached to some of the characters and was really rooting for some of them to be "good guys". I also found myself changing my mind on who I trusted MULTIPLE times. This book was definitely suspenseful in that I never wanted to put it down. The end of each chapter had me wanting more!

Grace Holloway likes to keep to herself, after escaping from that kidnapped and tried to kill her. Luckily for her that’s easy to do at the small inn that she manages in Rock Harbor, Maine, especially now since it’s the off season. Unfortunately for Grace , Rocky Harbor isn’t the sleepy town she thought it was. There’s someone kidnapping and killing young women, that happen to look like Grace. With a knock at the door, Grace is unwillingly thrusted into participating in the investigation. Can Grace help find the culprit?
This novel weaves together the 3 main characters POVS. Grace, the lone survivor of a serial killer. Aden who has to return to Rock Harbor to find out what happened to his missing father. The last character, Kira a mother determined to find out what happened to her missing daughter, Brooke. I will admit it take me a little bit to adjust to the multiple povs, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. This book is full of twists and turns that keep me guessing to the very end. Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion .

It took me a really long time to get through this one. I felt the pacing wasn't all there but the mystery definitely was. I wanted to know how everything connected. There were enough threads that seemed unrelated enough to keep my interest to find out how they were related. I also liked the past history with Grace and how it tied in with the current timeline

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the copy of The Vanishing Hour by Seraphina Nova Glass. The premise of this book sounded really intriguing and I love serial killer books. I’m not sure why I never connected to the writing and thought the different POVs were confusing at first because there seemed to be no connection between the characters and their stories were all so different. Of course it all came together! I think this book will appeal to readers who love a great twist and an inventive story.
