This book was both twisty and suspenseful. It's a quick read that grabs your attention from the very first page. The big reveal of who the kidnapper was and the ending shocked me I really didn't expect it. Kira is the mother of the year. Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing from the ARC in exchange for my review.

"So many girls disappear after dark--during the vanishing hour, and some make it back. Most don't. If there was a girl, I hope she's safe now."

I've got to admit, for the first half of this I thought it was just OK but I kept reading anyway. Then I hit the 60% mark and I raced through the rest of the book. The second half had so much action and so many red herrings (which I love) that I didn't even mind sitting in the doctor's office waiting room well past my appointment time because I could not put this book down.

The Vanishing Hour follows three perspectives--Kira, Grace and Aden. Kira's daughter is missing, Grace has a tumultuous past, and Aden's father is also missing. They all come together due to the commonalities in their stories as they begin to unravel the mystery. One thing I did find annoying though, was that Kira's story was in first person, while Aden and Grace's perspectives were third person, which just felt weird. There were also some strange love interests that didn't seem believable or needed. Otherwise thought I did enjoy this and will need to check out the author's backlist!

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Graydon House & NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book

This was my first Seraphina novel and I'm definitely a big fan now. I kept thinking I knew the twist but was mistaken every time.

This book was interesting! I definitely enjoyed the plot line.

I loved the plot line and how I didn’t guess the plot twist! It’s not very often that it happens that way. I also enjoyed the plot twist and the execution of it. It was definitely unique. So was how the three character point of views and how they connected. This was definitely a unique plot. What I didn’t enjoy was the writing style and characters. I felt this was overwritten and drawn out. Many sentences could have been rephrased to be showing, not telling, and more concise, leaving them more impactful. The same with the characters. I truly didn’t care about any of the characters or missing people. I really wanted to connect with Grace in some way and I just couldn’t.

Thank you to Netgalley and Graydon House for this ARC!

Rating is 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

This one was just okay.

3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I had this entire book figured out almost instantly.
This is told from a few POVs. Each POV got to be a bit repetitive for me, so the book was losing my interest rather quickly (especially since I had it pegged since page 10). I felt like I was reading simply to confirm my suspicions about the plot/characters.
The writing was good. I will absolutely read more from this author. This one just didn't "wow" me like I had anticipated.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #harlequintradepublishing for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love this book! One thing I never really think of when reading a book with the kidnapping trope is the absolute tenacity of the parents. Most often, it’s not even part of the plot.

Brooke is missing. Her mom? Kira is NOT having it. She’ll bust down every door, follow every lead, and talk to every person to find her daughter.

Along with Grace, Aden, and a cast of truly unique characters, Kira is determined to find her daughter. Everyone is a suspect and they all give her reason to think they were involved.

I listened to the audio and the amazing @britpressley narrated. She added an extra layer of suspense and emotion which kept me listening late into the night. I did NOT have this one figured out….at all. @seraphinanovaglass proves yet again she knows exactly what she’s doing and if you haven’t read her books yet…well…you definitely should.

Oh how I loved this book…….from beginning to end! A definite 5 out of 5 stars! I’d give it more than 5 if I could. So many twists. You think you have it figured out…..but you don’t. Read this book! And while you’re at it, read On A Quiet Street. Also a 5 plus stars! This author is fantastic.

The Vanishing Hour
4.5 ⭐️ loved this thriller by new to me author Seraphina Nova Glass!

A mother searching for her daughter, a man searching for his father, and a woman hiding from the world. This page turner will keep you guessing until the end with all it’s twists and turns!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for introducing me to this author in exchange for my honest opinion! I’m so excited to read more from her! I highly recommend this thriller currently out in paperback, audio, and e book formats!!
I loved the multiple POVs and also the assumptions the characters made about each other! Once all the secrets are revealed, no one’s life will be the same!

This was such a great read! This is my first book by this author and I couldn’t wait to find out how everything came together at the end. I definitely felt Kira’s heartache and pain in her chapters. A lot of people I had as suspects! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I thought this book was just okay. It follows three people, and we get chapters from each of their points of view. Aden, whose father is missing; Grace, who was kidnapped and held captive as a teen and managed to escape; and Kira, whose daughter is currently missing.

I liked the different points of view - it helped to keep the book interesting. It flowed nicely and I liked the writing style of this author, but I do think it dragged at times. There’s also one part involving Grace that I could tell was just added to prolong the book and it was very unrealistic and annoying. My biggest gripe with this book is that it was VERY predictable. I guessed the ending within the first few chapters. There were a couple of red herrings thrown in, but the ending was still very obvious to me.

It was an enjoyable read, but definitely not one I’ll be telling everyone to read.

This book got me hooked. I loved how it was told from different view points - with the first person being unknown. I liked figuring how the each character was connected.

Wow. What a page turner! The multi pov really kept the story moving very quickly. The author did a phenomenal job weaving storylines to distract from the possible suspect. The ending was a little predictable and felt a little cheesy

The Vanishing Hour is told in three POVS. This telling is brilliant – each POV is brought to life and unique. The character development is unmatched.

The Vanishing Hour is among my top reads for this year. It is everything I want for in a thriller. The twists and turns had me staying up way past my bedtime to read just one more chapter.

I will without a doubt read more from Seraphina Nova Glass. Highly recommend going in blind.

I liked part of the book but half of the book i really didnt. I was confused on what was going like and felt the story didnt really make up with the synopsis.

If you like twists and turns with suspense, this is your next read. There are a lot of characters and hands at play in this book. You’re constantly going into the what ifs and who could it be the whole time. I couldn’t put this book down and loved how it ended for the murderer. This was one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read and I can’t wait to read more by Seraphina.

Holy crap this book! Like holy plot twist! This one hooked me from the beginning and kept me glued to my seat!

This was a fast paced, unnerving, twisty thrill ride! I was totally immersed in Grace's world from the beginning, and was immediately hooked on finding out who was kidnapping girls again. I don't want to say much about this, because it's worth going in fairly blind so you can enjoy all the twists, but this is perfect for fans of true-crime-esque fiction with small town secrets.

The Vanishing Hower is a quick read. It moves quickly with short chapters that leave you wanting more. This crime thriller connects three people, two women, and a man, in a seemingly random way. But Seraphine Nova Glass has plotted out a thrilling end that connects the three in such an intimate and raw way. This is one of the most detailed but moving crime stories I have read in some time.
