A brilliant read that had me utterly hooked! The suspense is so high that I felt giddy.
The characters are shady except for Lily who I instantly adored!

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

The Kill is the latest novel by author Evie Hunter. Evie has written a great many successful regency romances as Wendy Soliman and is now redirecting her talents to produce dark gritty thrillers for Boldwood.

The Kill is easily one of our favourite novels Evie Hunter has written. It had us gripped from the first paragraph and didn’t let us go until the very last page.

It’s a fast-paced thrilling read that does not disappoint. Both the main protagonists of Eva and Sebastian are flawed but are easy to connect with which makes the novel even more enjoyable.

This was another new author for me this year. Seb and Ava work together to uncover secrets that affect them both. It's been a while since I've read a 'gangland thriller' and I really enjoyed this page turner. Will definitely read more books by this author, she has reinstated my 'love' for a page turning gangland book.

I have read all of Evie's books and they have never disappointed me.
This lady writes clear descriptions making it easy to follow. This book is another crime thriller with not too much violence, but theirs a heck of a lot more going on to keep the reader satisfied.
If you haven't read any of Evie's books where have you been? You missed have out on a brilliant crime writer.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this excellent book xx

Another absolutely brilliant and unputdownable read which has kept me captivated until the very last page.

Seb is out of prison. He is still proclaiming his innocence. He knows he has been set up by someone close to him, but who can he trust?

This is every bit as gripping and addictive as I had hoped from this author. As always, I have been completely transported and feeling like I’ve watched this one play out.

This is well written and flows perfectly. The author is able to transport the reader and keep you hooked from the very first page.

It is impossible not to get caught up in this one. Hunter takes us on a trip to the underworld with gangland at the heart.

The characters in this are very mixed and Hunter has included enough twists to hook you and make this unpredictable.

I have adored this book and have read many by this author. This is up there with the best of them.

If you love, gangland crime this is a book for you.

After six years in prison for a crime he did not commit, Sebastian Carter is out and determined to get answers about who set him up. He knows it’s someone close to him and Sebastian will make sure they pay.

Secrets never stay hidden.

i've read a number of this authors books and I have to say they are very enjoyable. This one felt fresh with a gripping story line. A page turner that leaves you needing to read on.

Great characters and an easy to follow read.

A story that has you going from the first page to the last. Sebastian was in prison for a crime he did not commit and once out he is out for revenge, but first, he wants to make sure he has the right person. He also has someone living in his home who is looking after his sister and she is not who she claims to be though she is doing a good job with his sister. Both people need to find answers and they will when you get to the end. In between, you have decent with his brothers and with others who think he might be weak after the time he spent locked up, not the case. A very good story, fast-paced, and has many good characters, a very good book.

A new author for me and I enjoyed getting swept along with the story and lives of all the characters. It’s a gritty read with many unseen twists, and kept me hooked to the end. I’ll certainly look out for more stories from Evie Hunter.

The Kill, well what can I say except well done Evie Hunter, another scorcher of a thriller that has you page turning with speed to get to the next dastardly deed.

The dashing Seb Carter is determined to find who had the audacity to frame him for murder. Now he is out and he wants answers. Does this mean he will have to reconcile with his estranged father, Jason to get the answers he so desperately wants.

Then in comes Seb’s sister, Lily’s new carerr, Ava. She is a stunner who has made Lily finally feel safe after her brutal attack, Is Ava all she seems though. It would appear that she too needs answers and Seb’s family seem to be at the very heart of it all.

Evie hunter is fabulous at creating just that right amount of underlying threat that runs through the whole book. Everyone appears to have been involved at some level yet these characters are still highly relatable and believable. Who wouldn’t want some kind of revenge after serving six years for a crime you did not commit. The tension spills out of every page and the more I read the more I admired Seb and Ava. They made a great team and I would love to see them together in the future. An all round solid read.

Sebastian has spent the last six years in jail for a crime he did not commit. Now he is out, and he wants answers.

Ava is looking after Lily Carter who needs full-time care, but she is there for other reasons.

The answers they both need may be linked but danger may be nearby.

This novel has two narratives running through it with great twists and turns that had me not wanting to put this book down. This is told through multiple Point-of-views. I found this novel fast-paced which is exactly what you want for this type of novel.

I found The Kill to be a well-written book with plenty to keep you reading.

This is another great gangland crime book from this author. She has written strong characters that are easy to like even when their actions are questionable. It was interesting to learn more about each character as the story went on. It definitely helped disprove a few of my theories that I developed as I was reading. I would like to read more action but there was enough storyline to keep me gripped and I couldn't put it down.

If you love fast-paced thrillers with lots of action - this is a book I recommend you read.

Sebastian Carter has just spent the past six years in prison – for a murder he says he didn’t commit. Now that he’s being released he’s out for revenge and looking for the person who set him up. Ava Harper has a secret of her own and when she gets a job caring for Lily Carter, Seb’s sister, she knows it’s here where she will find answers to her own questions. Living at the Carter resident has its perks when it comes to looking for answers. But when Seb first lays eyes on Ava there’s something about her that just feels familiar. Has he met her somewhere before?

Told in a captivating way, The Kill is a tightly-strung thriller that will have you hooked from start to finish. With so many twists that you will never see coming, and constant action, you’ll be entertained throughout. This is a truly fun read – an edge of your seat can’t put this book down type of read.

Seb is a likable character that’ll you’ll feel for. Determined to not turn out like his father, Seb earned his money from property development. He always did things in accordance with the law – something his gangster father didn’t like. I think many will relate to the family dynamics and dysfunction that play out in the story. Each character is well-rounded and built from the ground up with depth you don’t often see anymore.

I received a free ARC of this book and leave this review of my own accord. Thanks to Boldwood, Rachel, and NetGalley. #NetGalley #TheKill #BookTour #TheKillBookTour #Boldwood

⭐️Rating: 4/5
✍🏼Author: Evie Hunter
📖Genre: Thriller

::My thoughts:
This was a fast-paced, action filled thriller told from multiple points of view. There are two mysteries happening at once about Seb Carter who was framed for a terrible crime that he did not commit. He has spent the past six years in prison and knows that he was frame in an attempt to take down his father. As he’s in jail, he meticulously plans his revenge. Meanwhile, Ava Harper is caring for Seb’s sister while he’s in prison but took the position for more reasons than needing a caregiver role, and she’s still trying to find out what happened to her mother. When Seb gets released, the puzzle pieces start to connect and the mysteries unfold.

This was a fun read because of the twist and turns, I was shocked by the outcome but really enjoyed the characters. I think Evie did a great job writing this story but wishing the puzzle pieces wouldn’t have fallen together mid book. I definitely recommend this book if you love gangland thrillers and a good mystery,

Two tangled tales merge in Evie Hunter’s latest gritty revenge thriller. This fast-paced read had me glued to the pages. The characters were both delightful and loathsome. A must-read for anyone who a enjoys organized crime thrillers!

Seb Carter was framed for a crime he didn’t commit. He knows it was done in an attempt to get at his father and his criminal empire, who he is estranged from. He’s an innocent man who has spent six years in prison, plotting revenge.

Ava Harper is a caretaker for Seb’s sister—Lily—who is mentally challenged and needs full-time supervision. Ava is in love with the sweet child in an adult body but she has other reasons for taking the job. She’s hoping Seb will have answers for her when he’s released from prison. But she’s worried about his tough guy reputation, even though he hasn’t followed in his father’s footsteps.

Sincere thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the #booktour invitation and the #giftedARC. All opinions are my own.

This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last. Seb wanted nothing to do with his family’s criminal life, but after being wrongly accused of murder and being locked away for six years he would have no choice but to look into this murky world to clear his name. There are lots of twists and turns along the way for Seb to sort out. Will he ever got to the bottom of this mess or should he just get on with his life. A great read.
