Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I’ve always been a fan of small town romance or movie star romance but this book just feels lacking. It’s too predictable and the author mainly tells instead of show. I feel like it could have been better if there’s more editing.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This book was fine. I enjoyed the celebrity in aspect. Overall not my favorite but it was enjoyable.

Sadly, this book was not for me. I couldn´t connect with the female main character, I felt the writer lose herself in the story and I found it very boring. Such a pity, the plot seemed perfect for me.
But maybe you can enjoy it! It's a light story

Another fun small-town romcom, The Hollywood Jinx by Sariah Wilson is a fun, sweet laugh out loud romantic comedy full of swoon. We meet Jane Wagner and Nick Haddon. Jane is a librarian for the small town of Patience. After an embezzling scandal where the mayor has left the town broke, Jane must come up with a plan to make some money to stop the town from going bankrupt. On a whim, she publicly invites celebrity Nick Haddon to the fall harvest festival. She is shocked when he agrees and furthermore stunned when a crew accompanies him to document his visit.
And so begins this slow-burn romance between the Hollywood heartthrob and the girl next door. Plenty of flirty banter, swoony moments and funny one-liners that makes Sariah Wilson books so hilarious. Definitely pick up this book if you want a sweet, charming story full of witt and homur.

Something about this author just hooks me in. I enjoyed this book. I mean anything celebrity and I am there.

I liked the idea of a small town that needed saving and the big media campaign by getting an actor to help bring financial visibility to said small town. I thought that Nick seemed almost too good to be true and honestly Jane's nemesis Brenda was too much. I felt that some of the writing regarding Brenda felt a bit too contrived and I know she was supposed to be annoying, but I lost some sympathy for Jane because of how much she took Brenda's annoyances on.

I did have fun reading this book and I'm so glad that Jane was able to look past Nick's Hollywood upbringing to see a man who had hidden depths. Thank you to Montake and NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

A librarian as the main character, you know I am here for it!

This one was a good weekend read, with the banter between Jane and Nick really driving the story for me. I love this author and definitely am happy to have another wonderful book to add to my list.

is so easy to fall in love with. the way Sariah wrote made me forget I was actually reading, the characters were sweet and it surprised me how much I fell in love with then There was something about Patience that made me want to really see the video this bunch would produce, as I can only imagine it would have been hilarious if it was real.

I loved The Seat Filler by the same author, so when I had the chance to read another by her, I jumped at it. However, I didn’t love Hollywood Jinx as much. I found the main male character to be whiny and annoying and I certainly didn’t want him to get the girl. The book moved way too slowly for me and I never really wanted to pick it up and read.

This cute rom-com was a fun, quick read! It’s a good slow burn. Parks and Rec meets Hallmark movie vibes! Overall, it fell a bit short for me. I’ve heard good things about the author and would definitely check out more of her work!

Such a cute, closed door romance! I loved Nick and Jane so much. I’m kind of mad at myself I waited so long to finish this one.

This is a cute small town romance. Jane decides the best way to get her small town noticed would be a big celebrity visit. She invites Nick, a mega star with an image problem and is completely shocked when he accepts.

The romance between Nick and Jane was sweet and slow burn. It’s a nice quick read, 3.5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

The Hollywood Jinx features some of my favorite themes - librarians, small towns, big hollywood star and learning to love and trust again. Nick is too good to be true honestly, it was hard not to love him immediately and root for him to find lots of happiness along the way. Also Jane is a nice lead as well, a librarian who loves her family and wants to save her town. The story was pretty tame with some hinted at moments but really closed door, the love story was a slow burn and the epilogue was great. The story and characters can be a bit YA in nature at times, it was apparent that the mains were a little younger (early 20's) and sometimes still felt very high school. The weak spot was this random rivalry with another girl in town. But I enjoyed it and would read more by the author.

The Hollywood Jinx is a charming romance that checks all the boxes. Set in a small town in Ohio, the story follows Jane, a temporary librarian with Hollywood dreams, and Nick, a troubled movie star in need of a break. Their attraction is immediate, and their journey toward their HEA is both heartwarming and entertaining. As always, Wilson's style of writing is engaging and filled with humor, and the small-town setting is a nice departure from her other Los Angeles based romances.

The small town of Patience, Ohio is out of money thanks to a crooked mayor who'd emptied the city's bank accounts. This puts the librarian in charge of the fall harvest festival and making money from the festival is the only chance they have to reopen the government offices. So on a lark, a video was made inviting television/movie star, Nick Haddon, the Most Handsome Man Alive to come to Patience for the festival. Who would've thought he'd agree and bring a film crew to document the entire thing?!! Certainly not temporary librarian Jane Wagner!

This is a fun rom-com with a slow-burn romance. We are talking S-L-O-W!! There's a lot of flirty banter and everything you expect from a Sariah Wilson romance. As I said this is a slow-burn romance but once Nick and Jane stop fighting their feelings the kisses are super swoony! This isn't my favorite book by this author but it's was a fun escape.
