This was an odd little science fiction book that could have benefited from being longer. The explanations on some of the science aspects felt glossed over enough to feel fantastical rather than scientific. The book Odd John by Olaf Stapledon was mentioned enough throughout the book and seemed like the springboard for this book that it almost felt like a prequel? It made me feel as if I’d read it I would be more invested in this book.
I didn’t really feel connected with the story or invested with the characters. The short length didn’t do this book any favors other than being a quick read – more of an episode versus a movie. The Professor & Lo would have been more interesting and my favorites (aside from Clemintina). I was not a huge fan of GRIM from the start and the foreshadowing felt pretty Harvey where he was concerned.
I would like to thank Sirius Publishing Company, Justin Bullock & literatureandlattes on IG for the chance to read this quirky little sci-fi. All opinions are my own. Rounded from 3.5 stars.

A thought provoking sci fi story that really makes you think about humanity’s future and relationship with advanced technology.
The plot was intriguing and captivating, with interesting characters. I typically like less philosophical reads, so I personally doubt I’ll be continuing with the series. However, that’s just my opinion.

I don’t read a lot of sci-fi… but now I think it’s my most favorite and I WANT MOOOORE!
I was so excited to receive ‘Lo Wainwright: the Last Homo Superior’ from the author, Justin Bullock, @siriuspublishing. I read it immediately and wow! Can this be a tv mini series already?
So here is the gist- there is a colony of super humans that want to help us normies before we destroy ourselves and our planet. The super humans and their intelligent machine want every human to go through ‘the procedure’ to gain the human superior smarts so we can band together and save the humanity… so they say…
I really can’t say more than that, I don’t want to give anything away- BUT I really really liked it! It was so smart and so creepy at the same time. I feel like the whole AI, intelligent machine thing, is terrifying and realistic. It reminded me of the Simpsons when they go to itchy & scratchy land and the robots come to life.
This was a very short book, but WOW, the storytelling was wonderful, there were twists & turns and my eyes went 😳. I can’t wait to read the second one!
Q. Do you like sci-fi, and if so what is your favorite?!
