This one was so good! I love a good Cinderella re telling and this one was perfect! We have charlotte who hasn’t had an easy life and is living as a servant in her own home, sense her mother death. Her stepfather is an awful cruel man but she has made the best out of her situation and has made a family out of the other servants in the house and her stepsister Francesca who is treated as a lady but also haven’t had it easy under her father. With charlotte goes I an adventure to save one of the men who work in her house she runs into Rafe our Duke who mistakes her for a Lady and she goes with the lie and finds her self in a predicament as her and the Duke couldn’t be more perfect for each other and he is determined to have her as his duchess. I loved charlotte as a character she was so positive and funny! She had me laughing a few times! I also loved rafe and his mother and grandmother! This story had great characters, plot line and even some spice! I highly recommend it! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job! Thank you to dreamscape media for a copy of this audiobook for review out now!

What a marvelous retelling of Cinderella! Complete with a charming hero, an evil step-dad, and a hoot of a grannie for a champion, Eva Devon puts her own stamp on the story and cleverly delivers a very happily ever after. Though this is the third book in the series, I had no trouble reading The Duke's Secret Cinderella as a standalone.
I'm thoroughly impressed with the way Eva Devon weaves the classic fairytale into a historical romance. (I also really enjoyed the way Devon includes a strong statement about the sad treatment of orphans during this time.) Nicely done!
I listened to the audio version of The Duke's Secret Cinderella and is beautifully performed by Sasha Higgins.

The Duke’s Secret Cinderella was a good take on the mistaken identity, I have an evil step person(s) in my life troupe. I enjoyed the characters and the caring compassion brought on by the mfc and mmc. For those that like me Regency era with a 1 star spice, this book will be enjoyable. Also as an audio book, the narration was well done too.

Charlotte, who believes she is nothing more than a maid in her step-father's household, unwittingly catches Rafe, the Duke of Rockford's attention. He is pulled to her and as a result, she spins a bunch of half truths to continue to see him. That is until her step-father catches on and threatens to expose her secrets. In an unsuspecting turn of events, her true identity is revealed and she can marry the Duke. It was a fun but stressful listen due to the abuse and mistreatment Charlotte and her stepsister are subject to but it definitely fits the bill of a Cinderella story.

This was such a fun book! I'm seriously getting into these types of romances -- I never knew how amazing these could be.
This is a slight spin on the classic cinderella tale. Charlotte's parents have died and she is left with her step sister and step father. I love the relationship the girls have. They are seriously so precious. Charlotte feels little more than a maid, but when she falls in love with a Duke, she knows that her lying can't go on.
Loved the ending as well. Now i need to read the rest.

When I first started this audio book I wasn't sure how it was going to go, simply because the author uses the word 'perfect' a lot in the very first paragraph.
However, I found myself getting completed sucked into it. Mainly because I wanted to find out how the secret was going to exposed.

I really loved this audiobook! Based on the cover and title I was expecting a hot steamy romance, but this was more of a sweet love story. The cover is a bit deceptive, but that’s okay. I’m 48 years old and apparently I still enjoy a cute fairytale. The narrator was really good and she’s probably the reason why I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to listen to the Duke’s Secret Cinderella.

A brilliant and funny historical romance. I got a very strong Ever after vibe from this.
I like the characters and the story is easy to follow. Also, I love Cinderella stories so this was an easy and enjoyable read for me.
I like the plot and I definitely did not see the plot twist coming. I certainly wasn’t expecting anything like that even though I suspected there were some secrets at to be resolved.
The narrator was good and I think they really brought the story to live
All in all, a great Cinderella story and an enjoyable audiobook

I enjoyed this book. I have heard this narrator before and think that her male voice acting has improved. The middle section of the book dragged on a bit but generally speaking it was a good read.

A entertaining book, somewhat conventional and a tad too emphatic in its tones for my liking. But Eva Devon’s heroes are always the best! Gorgeous, noble men to cherish and to wed! And Rafe was no exception, even if I found him a little too naïve and too sure of his standing in the world as a duke. I liked the duke’s mother and grandmother, but I hated their excessive focus on duty and the fact that they pushed Rafe too much, even blackmailing him to wed.
The heroine seemed bold and strong at the beginning, but in my opinion she waited too long to tell the truth, even knowing that Rafe loved her. The villain was a tad over the top for my liking, but I liked the plot twist at the end. In general, I found this Cinderella version quite intriguing.
The narrator is good, especially when doing male characters, but her rendition of the heroine voice is sometimes grating, a “silly girl” type of voice, if you get my meaning. I would have preferred she toned down her reading every now and then.
Thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of the audiobook.

It's been a long time since I read historical romance, so when I came across this book on NetGalley, I requested it right away because I really wanted to read in this genre. I like the atmosphere of historical romances, so I liked every book that I read in this genre, even if I know that the story was not the strongest. But so far I have always read them physically and in my native language. I was afraid that I wouldn't understand the titles, but then I realized that it doesn't matter whether the main character is a viscount or a duke, I don't know the difference between them anyway.
When I started the book, I didn't have high expectations, but I thought I would like it. But at about the beginning, I realized that this would not be the case. I didn't like the narrator. Her voice annoyed me, I don't think it suited Charlotte. And it was even more confusing when the narrator spoke in Rafe's voice. I didn't like the mood of the book either. I think this has something to do with the fact that I didn't like the narration. It wasn't cosy at all.
Our protagonists weren't overly developed either. Charlotte is smart in theory, but we know this from the fact that the writer wrote it about 5 times, not from her actions. I don't even understand why Rafe fell in love with her. Rafe was also a very strange character for me. The perfect, rich duke whose purpose in life is to help the poor, did not work at all. After that, it's no surprise that there was no chemistry between them, which made the insta love feel even weaker.
The main driving force behind the story was that Charlotte lied and didn't admit it. I hate when a story consists of someone not being able to tell the truth. This novel was a big disappointment. I didn't expect the twist at the end, but I just rolled my eyes, I didn't like it at all.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the historical romance I wanted, so I'll have to keep looking...

A romantic story of hidden identity. Mounting lies put the chances of finding a happily ever after at risk. I enjoyed hearing the twists and turns of the heroine and stayed up late to find out how it would end. This is the 3rd in a series, but all can be read as a standalone.
The narrator, Sasha Higgins, was perfect. She is easy to understand, doesn't overdo character voices, and keeps the story interesting. This was a great audiobook!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this audiobook ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is a very sweet Cinerella story. Not your classic, but a great twist! Both the Duke and his Cinderella have great personalities and their stories will keep you reading until the very end. I thouroughly enjoyed this adult listen.

Totally enjoyable book! After being ordered to marry by his mother, the Duke literally runs into Charlotte. They’re instantly attracted, but it’s a long, fun ride from their initial meet to their HEA.

1.7/5
Boring. Nothing actually happened up until like the 87% mark, and I hate the audio narration. The voice is just very…idk I can’t help imagining the person as a tiny annoying pick me blonde.
1. I was always yelling at the fmc; Charlotte to tell the guy what her stepdad was up to and to tell him the truth because HELLOO? ARENT ALL HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS BASED OF OF TRUTHS??????
2. I felt no chemistry. There was nothing. The guy always acted like he had a ‘claim’ to her since he was the duke. He thought anyone and everyone would want to marry him in a heartbeat. It felt like he was trying too hard. I hate him and his povs were disgusting
The only reason I’m not giving this 1 star is because of Francesca and Gregory. I’m a sucker for romance with letters.

got an audio arc from netgalley!!

This book was incredibly sweet with very black and white characters thrust into a nefarious situation, much like the Cinderella story. I love a good retelling, and it was a satisfying book to listen to, but I think the characters seemed a bit lacking in depth as it was very good people vs bad people, without much nuance of character to a certain degree. I did like the twist on the situation of the story that had an evil stepfather vs stepmother, and I did appreciate at the end a bit more into the stepfather's motivations. It was a lovely frothy read. The narration of the book was good too, showcasing the different voices and mannerisms well.
Thank you to Netgalley for this recording and I have provided my honest review in exchange.

As far a Regency romances go, this one ticks the boxes. Reformed rake of a duke who needs someone with a title and/or money, a misunderstanding that could be cleared up far sooner than it was, and the ton with its vicious gossip. It was everything you would expect in its genre, but it doesn't quite reach the Tessa Dare quality.

Charlotte Browne could just kick herself. What on earth possessed her to tell the Duke of Rockford that she is a lady? Now it’s too late to admit she’s just plain Charlotte of no particular importance with cinder-stained hands, a wretched stepfather, and no prospects for marriage. Rafe Dorchester, Duke of Rockford, has done what every self-respecting duke must do—avoid marriage at all costs. But the only thing stronger than the duke is his mother. When she lays down the highest ultimatum, he’ll need to find a duchess. Immediately. Only, when he calls on a potential bride, he instead finds the pert, fresh-faced Lady Charlotte. One passionate, illicit kiss sends Charlotte fleeing, leaving only a delicate blue ribbon behind. For Rafe can never discover her secret, or it will ruin her beloved sister’s chance at marriage. But the duke knows that when you’ve found the one person that ignites you, body and soul, nothing can keep you away.
A delightful fairy story retelling, I loved Rafe but had some issues with Charlotte who told so many lies & for me the deception went on too long. I enjoyed listening to the story but I must admit the narrator’s voice grated on me at times maybe this was because this is the first book I’d listened to that had a female narrator. For me her voice whilst good for the female characters fell flat for the males especially Rafe’s
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily listened to

I have to be honest here and admit that honestly I thought this book was incredibly cheesy. It just fell flat.
