As usual Leslie North does it again with another great read! James becomes instantly smitten with the leading lady Kaitlyn and a father that was head over heels for his daughter. This was sweet and funny read that was little bit predictable but still has so much charm. Over all, I loved watching James' relationship with his daughter and how Kaitlyn was able to help her.

2.5 starts

When at the bachelorette party for her sister Kaitlyn admits to the girls that she’s never really actually had a one night stand before. Kaitlyn meets the owner of the club James and they hit it off quite well, which then leads to them having a one night stand but after she gets kicked out once he receives a call and leaving her without any explanation as to why she needs to leave. Regardless of what happened Kaitlyn tries to forget and thinks she’ll never see the guy again, and she’s looking forward to starting her new job and once she meets her new employer, she’s in for a surprise the person she is working for is no other than the James Morris, her one night stand.

Whilst I enjoyed most part of the book and it was quick read, I didn’t really connect much with the main characters and also felt that harper seemed to be somewhat written as an older child than what she was. However, I did like the relationship between James and his daughter Harper, and Kaitlyn relationship with Harper. If you are looking for something short and easy to read then I would recommend:)

I did enjoy this book. It was a romance between a millionaire and a therapist for his daughter.

James, who is a known millionaire around the world meets Kaitlyn one night at his bar Bloom and spends a couple of fun filled hours with her. He then abruptly kicks her out! Kaitlyn doesn’t think she will see him again and honestly doesn’t want to.

She has a live in therapist job coming up to help a little girl. When she arrives at the mansion she sees him, James!

The tension between them was thick! But, his business life could hurt their relationship. Can’t they handle all the drama?

Definitely don’t sit on this book? It has romance and the perfect amount of storyline.

Whilst at a bachelorette party for her sister, Kaitlyn admits she’s never had a one night stand. Feeling daring, she hooks up with billionaire club owner, James Morris. Kaitlyn thought things were going well until James inexplicably kicked her out. No matter, Kaitlyn is excited about bigger things—she got a job as a live-in therapist and ready to change the life of a young child. She meets her employer, and lo and behold, it is no other than Mr. James Morris! Can they keep their relations professional?

I love a good single father, grumpy billionaire MMC and I was so excited to read this novel. It started really hot and spicy! And you’d think that’s the whole plot but this book was so much more—there’s depth to the romance. However, I’m conflicted with FMC. I found her character to be whiny and immature around MMC but a great therapist to the child and I found it admirable.

From the description of the book, I was certainly expecting more of hot romance and I didn’t expect such entanglement so it was a bit disappointing if you’re going in with this mindset so prepare yourself because this is not your average hot single dad meets girl story. If it warned me a bit about the complications, I would’ve probably enjoyed it more. Nonetheless, this novel has more substance than I expected; which isn’t a bad thing, at all.

I generally enjoy Leslie North books and this one was no exception, though I would not count it as one of my favorites or one I would reread. FMC Kaitlyn is in progress to become a therapist for children. MMC James Morris is a billionaire businessman who hires Kaitlyn to provide live-in care and therapy for his daughter, Harper. Right before she starts, however, the duo meet for the first time and neither knowing who the other is, spend the night together. Kaitlyn does end up remaining as Harper's therapist and eventually ends up in some sort of situationship with James. In the background for Kaitlyn is an absent alcoholic mother and in the background for James is a professional rival who seems willing to play dirty.

While this book was a quick and enjoyable read, I didn't necessarily connect well with either main character. Kaitlyn seemed a bit immature and selfish, even as she is supposed to be an amazing therapist. James can be cold and unfeeling and too wrapped up in his own views of the world. Harper, while adorable, is written as older than the character purports to be (a common complaint for me with books that include children). On the other hand, the characters do have chemistry and I loved the focus on mental health and on including statements about therapy progress not being linear. (Though the epilogue seems to try to say the exact opposite.) I would recommend this book for readers looking for something quick and easy.

3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

This was a good read.

I went in expecting an intense male with some real grumpy vibes. What I got was James, a man that became instantly smitten with the leading lady and a father that was head over heels for his daughter.

In the beginning, there is an incident that happens. He handled it differently than I imagined. Fast forward, they hook up, he leaves, she gets angry, and then she goes home. Later she starts a new job as a therapist for a little girl with some serious issues. You can imagine the awkwardness of this meeting when Mr. Grump shows up as the father. Then you finish off with several plotlines and a beautiful relationship that is built from the ground up.

Over all, I loved watching James' relationship with his daughter and how Katie was able to help her. I really wasn’t ready for it to end.

Summary: Kaitlyn is at a club for her sister's bachelorette party, but doesn't want to be there. She accidentally bumps into a wait and spills everyone’s drink which causes a small issue. The owner, James, sees everything happen and comes rushing in to setting the confrontation. Kaitlyn and James have this chemistry that leads to a night in at James penthouse, but soon is kicked out without any explanation. The next day Kaitlyn heads to her new job as a private counselor in a rich neighborhood for a little girl who has anxiety and panic attacks every time she steps outside. When Kaitlyn shows up to shows up to the front door she finds out the James is her new boss and to make sure his daughter has the best support he convinces Kaitlyn to take the job.

Thoughts: This was a fast read and I enjoyed the different plot elements that were happening in the story. I do think that some of those plots needed to flushed out a little more (ex: Kaitlyn's mom) but all in all I had a good time. I like that you get to see Kaitlyn work with Harper (Jame's daughter) and watch her handle her anxiety. I love the relationship between Harper and James , because he acts like her number one fan. I feel as though the main characters had chemistry off and on in the book, but they were cute together. I think the big stand out to me is that James is supposed to be Mr. Grumpy, but in reality he isn't like that. He just has a lot of stuff on his plate that causes him to have off days, but he always seem to be in a good mood/ smiles a lot.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were relatable and hook you by the first chapter. I wasn’t able to put it down until I finished the entire book. Definitely a must read!

Kaitlyn falls for a billionaire single dad and his daugther. They had a one night stand before they met officially.... Will their love grow from that one night?

I like Kaitlyn and James together. The daughter Harper is sweet too. :) I love Harper and Kaitlyn together in particular. Harper has some trauma and it's touching to see how Kaitlyn helps her. Romantic and sweet.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I loved this book. James was so devoted to his daughter, it was beautiful to watch. He was afraid of letting someone in and be disapointed which is very understandable. Kaitlyn was a woman that just wanted her family together and someone that loved her. When he messed up, I understood where be was coming from and I felt like Kaitlyn didn't try enough to make things work at the end, but nevertheless, I liked it. They were marvelous together and I loved them.

Well, like Katie said to Harper, i prefer Katie has strong ability to put boundry between her and James. Once he kick her out and have no intention more than Ons. They meet again, i prefer she keep it professional not easily fall for him again. Guess what? He kick her out again! (Lol) you can guess the rest. I love how Katie make Harper improve with her panic attact, its work for Harper.

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

Mr. Grump was an adorable romance book between a billionaire single dad and his daugher’s live in therapist. Harper’s traumatic backstory was unexpected but the perfect use of a trauma storyline to create an amazing plot to have James and Kaitlyn meet again after their one night stand.

Kaitlyn and Harper’s relationship is what made this book spectacular, it was beautiful and respectful and I loved their scenes most of all. Kaitlyn was easily the center of this book, with her family drama, her job as Harper’s therapist and her relationship with James.

James and Harper had a really good relationship and I loved Kaitlyn’s ability to speak up about her concerns and her fears, which led to healthy communication on her end. James has a tenancy to rush to judgement and not be very open minded which leads to issues within his family and his relationship with Kaitlyn. In the end, I loved how this story played out and would read another book in the series!
