It's a wonderful cookbook to go along with a wonderful film! There are some really great recipes featured in this book for a variety of courses. The pictures are beautifully done. There are some simple recipes as well as some that are more complex. The names and information for each food item are very fun and creative. My favorite part of this cookbook is the meal plans at the end of the book, easy planning for a fun date or family night to enjoy some delicious food, and watch a classically loved movie.

A delighftul collection of recipes inspired by the classic "The Princess Bride" film & book, that has delicious-looking dishes with funny names that'll make you laugh as well as whet your appetite.

The recipes look easy, too, apt for people that aren't that good in the kitchen, like myself, and the photographs are nice, giving you a clear idea of what the dish is and its contents, all inspired by and paying homage to the beloved film. Oh, and if you ever wanted to throw a Princess Bride-themed party, the book will give you some ideas as well. Worth having in your fan collection!

Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite movies. Naturally, I had to see this cookbook.

The cookbook is very well laid out. There is a brief description of the part of the movie the recipe relates to. The recipe itself is easy to follow and the photos illustrate the finished product.

The ingredients were not esoteric, but are available in most markets.

Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC. This is my honest review.

Such a fun cook-book with plenty of different recipes to try out I also found the drinking game a fun little extra!
I loved all the movie themed names of the recipes.

We decided to have a movie night and rewatch The Princess Bride so we made a few of the recipes in the book. Some of my favourite recipes were

The Sea After a Storm Dark and Stormy
Prepare to Die Fiery Spanish Croquetas
Battle of Wits Brie and Apple Crostini
Have You The Wings
Miracle Max's Chocolate Covered Miracle Pill

A fun recipe book with plenty of lovely photos and easy to follow recipes, Perfect for any Princess Bride fan!

This cookbook is a must-have for any Princess Bride fan! The recipes are not only delicious but also accurately reflect the ingredients and dishes that are featured in the movie. The recipes are also very easy to follow which makes them the perfect addition to any kitchen.

The book isn't just about recipes for cooking it also includes party planning ideas. So any friend groups who are big fans of the movie could have a night in with some of these recipes cooked up, Princess bride on the TV and maybe if you drink try the drinking games included in the book, sounds like a fantastic group idea.

This would be a wonderful gift for movie lovers with a culinary twist. I hope more recipe books use this format would be such a brilliant and great gift for film fans.

4/5 from me.

I always like fun, quirky cookbooks and that is exactly what this one is. I can't say I am a huge fan of The Princess Bride but that didn't stop me from loving this cookbook.

Right from the start with the Drinking Games I knew it would be a bit of fun. The names given to the recipes made me smile and should that the author was having some fun writing this book. Which means I am going to have fun trying the recipes and better still tasting them.

Starting with the 'Fire Swamp Flame Spurt' and the ' Mostly Dead Corpse Reviver'.... Love it!
Then on to 'Not a Lot of Money in Revenge Beggar's Purses" and "prepare to Die Fiery Spanish Croquetas'. YUM!
Now let us enjoy 'The Pirate Ship Revenge Salmagundi' (there is a them going her!) and we will finish off with some 'Princess Buttercups' and 'Miracle Max's Chocolate Covered Miracle Pill'.

A themed dinner party is on the cards I think.

A fun book with fun recipes. I really enjoyed it all.

I love the titles of the dishes

I will be making "Buttercups beautiful (chicken) beasts" tonight as I have all the ingredients already at home.

I may even make a cheeky cocktail to go with it.
Maybe the "Mostly Dead corpse reviver"

Fun cook book with nice recipes

I love when we get cookbooks like this, especially ones that tie into our school reading lists as this is a way that introduces our students to new ways to experience their literature. Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to keep this on our shelf (a shame) as there are alcoholic drinks/cocktails, which I didn't realize from the description. As an adult PB fan, I find the cookbook AMAZING though. Each recipe is thought out. I've only had the chance to make a few of them, but the National Dish of Florin was a hit with my husband.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Its been years since I fell in love with The Princess Bride, so I couldn't pass up an opportunity to read this cookbook. This is a treat for lovers of recipes tied in to nerdy movies that actually reference something in the movie. You won't regret this, especially since each recipe comes with its own illustration and helpful tips!

I've read both this and the official licensed Princess Bride cookbook, and honestly, I think I prefer this one. It's clearly written with a ton of love for the source material, and unlike a lot of pop culture tie-in cookbooks, each recipe actually does connect directly to something in the movie rather than being given a referential title and nothing else. (Buttercup's Perfect Chicken Breasts and The Machine's Excruciating Tourtiere especially made me chuckle.) Each recipe is accompanied by a full-colour illustration, and the author includes helpful tips for cooks as well as "from the pages" inserts of references to the original novel. I'd absolutely recommend this to any fans of the book or the movie.

Has it really been 35 years since that movie came out and I fell in love with Cary Elwes?? Yes, it has.

This book is perfect for fans of the movie and the food is good as well...easy to understand recipes and I can see planning a viewing party and playing games with the quotes and memories from this book.

Cassandra Reeder always seems to write relevant cookbooks and this one did not disappoint.

I love this book and I’m now starving. If you are a fan of the film and even if you are not there are some fun and exciting drinks and food items to make in here to add some sparkle to any occasion and there is a recipe for a corpse reviver which my husband can’t wait to try out.

Recipes varying different levels of skill, cocktails and even examples of how to combine into different party menus. A joy for any fan of the film and/or book

I love this - if you're a fan of the film (and who could see it and not like it), there will be something in here for you. There are cocktails, soups, stews, appetisers, hearty mains and even a bread recipe. The desserts and cakes look fantastic.
There are suggested menus at the back, but you could also cater for a themed wedding with a ROUS made from meatloaf and mac and cheese as a goofy centrepiece, and Max's miracle pill favours.
The little 'from the pages' bits with film trivia are very sweet.
The book would suit someone fairly new to cooking, as the potential pitfalls are highlighted clearly. Some ingredients, like freeze dried raspberries, are a little costly, but some are more affordable.
