I am so happy that I’ve discovered this author even though I’m late to the table.
This features a duke who is considered odd/crazy recluse by the ton because of his fascination with science and experimentation. Our heroine is the belle-of-the-ball, a social butterfly who loves dancing and flirting. When these two accidentally meet in the park when her black poodle escapes to meet his black poodle (actually his aunt’s that he’s dog sitting), they end up taking the wrong dog home. Before they can exchange dogs, one is stolen, and thus begins a mystery that draws both together to track down the culprit, the mastermind and their lovable furry friends.
This was a hilarious, sweet romance, and I loved watching both Michael and Elizabeth begin to see each other through the other’s eyes and realize their true, authentic selves. They are both such well-written characters and kept me laughing and entertained through the entirety of the book. And if I may say, the ending is over-the-top swoony wonderful…*sigh*.
I need to look up Ms. Enoch’s backlist posthaste.
My sincere thanks to the author, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for providing the early arc of Every Duke Has His Day for review. The opinions are strictly my own.

This is a fun and fluffy romance if you are a fellow dog lover! Jaunty and full of hijinx, Every Duke Has His Day is fun to read, and the characters are artfully built to be endearing and charming. It is a unique historical romance that feels more like a modern-day comedy. I would love to see this on the big screen. It is a special book with you rooting for the main couple and <spoiler> the dog thieves </spoilers>. If you liked Enoch's release from last year, "Something In The Heir", this is similar in tone and feel.

I knew this would be a great read when the main character's dogs forced them together before a convoluted plot to marry Elizabeth led to the dogs being kidnapped. I always love when the main characters are forced to solve a mystery together, even when the mystery is so strange and hilarious. The characters were so charming and wholesome, even while the plot was borderline ridiculous, which was a perfect combo! I don't read a lot of clean Regency romances, but this one was so sweet! I also loved the side characters throughout the book. The butler's inner monologue about the Duke and his oddities made me laugh every time, and the romance between the dognapper and his pretty, dog-training neighbor was so sweet! This was such a fun read, and I really enjoyed it!
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Griffin for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I really enjoyed this book and loved the character development! These two characters seem totally incompatible on paper but have more in common than they realize and when they must work together to find their missing poodles that is when the magic happens. I am a sucker for a good slow burn and this definitely delivered! Highly recommend this book for all my slow burn lovers and Regency fans.

This was the first book by Suzanne Enoch. I would recommend Enoch to historical lovers looking for a clean romance and lots of humor! While the writing was silly, as Enoch just want to make us giggle, I surprisingly found the characters very deep and interesting. Regency Romance, mad scientist, start hero gets unstarched, wild child heroine and some cute dog-knapping hijinks.

I’m not a huge regency reader but this was so fun! The romance is swoony and the laughs are loud! This is a great easy to read palate cleanser and I highly recommend

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What great fun! Our Duke, Michael, is a successful scientist. He's one of those absentminded guys who forgets to eat if his butler doesn't knock on the door. There's a Do Not Disturb sign on the door but it's always there so Huston knocks anyway. He's kind so he agrees to watch his beloved Aunts poodle while she's off visiting a friend. The high jinks start on the first day. Mistaken poodle identity, attraction which puzzles Michael, tracking down a thief,. Michael turns out to be a good detective because he pays attention to details. He's a blast. She's fun too but I think he's the star. It gets a very rare 5 stars from me.

This was a very fun, light book to read. I will say, I feel like it was almost more focused on the dogs at time rather than the romance (which, depending on how much you like dogs it may not be a bad thing). The only other thing I will say is I cannot give you a single description of any character. I don't know if I just blew past it when reading, or if there really is minimal character descriptions.
If you like dogs and Bridgerton, you will probably really enjoy this book.

This was the first book by Suzanne Enoch I have read and now I am a fan! What was there not to like! Romance, Regency, hunky mad scientist curmudgeon, and feisty heroine. Add in adorable poodles, and a fun subplot and I didn’t want to put it down. Did I mention laugh-out-loud humor and gorgeous settings? How about swoony kisses and such smart writing. The scene where Michael and Elizabeth interview people while looking for their dogs is side-splitting. This novel would make a terrific movie, pretty please. I think this might be my favorite book this year, and a must-read for anyone that wants to be absolutely delighted. If I could give it more than five stars I would.

Every Duke Has His Day by Suzanne Enoch
This book has me laughing, loving, crying, and oh lalala moments. Great book! You meet a Duke and his arch-enemy in a tale of finding the lost dog! What can go wrong? This is beautifully written and laugh out loud, I mean literally, I actually laugh myself silly. I couldn't get enough. 10/10

Every Duke Has His Day is a story following Michael Bromley, the odd Duke of Woriton, and Elizabeth “Bitsy” Dockering, the society darling, as they set off on an adventure to recover their beloved poodles, Lancelot and Galahad. While working together to bring the pups home, the two wind up discovering more than just where the poodles have gone.
This was such an enjoyable read! Suzanne Enoch writes such fun and quirky plots, while also bringing in believable romance and chemistry. I liked reading about a Duke who didn’t adhere to societal norms (also, he seemed a bit neurodivergent coded to me, which I loved), and didn’t care to adhere to them. He was “weird” and liked it that way. I also enjoyed that Elizabeth also followed the path of not really caring about what society wanted, though she seemed to battle with it a bit more than Michael did. It felt more like Elizabeth wanted to be involved in society because she genuinely enjoyed it, not because she felt obligated to.
The thing that really got me about this book, though, was the plot line of the poodle-napping. Honestly I thought it was so unique, and I really found myself invested in the outcome. I loved where it wound up going (I promise, no spoilers!), and that we got some really interesting side character viewpoints as well. It was like a mystery, a romance, and a quirky read all wrapped into one! I also really appreciate the research that must have went into writing this book as well, with the science that Michael was involved in. Super excellent.
Overall, this was a 4.5 star read for me, and I’d highly recommend it to any other historical romance/mystery lovers out there!

4.5 rounded up. This is my first read from Enoch, but I loved how easy it was to jump right into it. I really enjoyed how Duke Woriton was a nice grumpy MMC and that Elizabeth was a great FMC who was both adorable and it made sense why she was such a popular gal. Their meet cute definitely gave me 101 Dalmatians vibes which I ADORED, and I loved that this had so many different POVs to follow! Jimmy and Sally's romance as the secondary couple really stole the show for me, and the dognapping shenanigans was a fun plot to navigate through. Honestly, the chemistry between Bitsy and Michael weren't as strong to me as Jimmy/Sally, but it was still great! On top of that, I actually loved Peter as a villain and it is kind of a shame he was the way he was as his dedication to try to win over Bitsy was definitely...a bit admirable, tbh. 😂 In another world, he could've stolen my heart -- particularly if he wasn't so adamant about his hatred towards dogs. Perfect for dog lovers and loved this was a relatively quick read! Definitely looking forward to trying another title from this author!

Gorgeous book!!!! Beautiful story!!!!
Thank you soooooo much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗
"I voluntarily read and reviewed the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

A delightful read. While some parts were quite predictable, it was lighthearted and fun. The little twist at the end was a pleasant and welcome surprise. I've read this author's books for years and plan on continuing the trend in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's press for the e-ARC. All opinions are my own! (:
Bridgerton meets Bringing up Baby and 101 Dalmatians in this romantic comedy that begins with Elizabeth Dockering (diamond of the season) and Duke Michael Woriton accidentally swapping dogs (two identically groomed, large, black poodles), during a very soggy meet-cute.
What follows is an absolutely delightful romp through regency era England, filled with witty comebacks, poodles, a smarmy poodle-napping villain, and a grumpy-meets-sunshine romance.
This was my first Suzanne Enoch book (I'm still very new to the romance genre), but I definitely want to read more!

**Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC of the book. All opinions are my own**
It’s a light entertainment regency romance. The main characters Miss Elizabeth Dockering and the Duke of Woriton, Michael Bromley get acquainted in a chaotic meet-cute where their dogs are accidentally exchanged. It is followed by series of entertaining episodes of dog antics, sassy butler, a sweet romance story between Jimmy Bly and Sally Pangle and of course the beautiful scientific theories that turned into romantic snippets.
The main characters are developed well as the book progresses however, some of the minor details could be much improved.

Listen, as a dog groomer as soon as I saw poodles 🐩, I HAD to read this. And it did not disappoint. I loved the 4+ POVS! That was unexpected but really helped give you all of the perspectives. I loved our MMC was different and just said whatever he thought, rather then sticking to what is “appropriate”. I was a little surprised to find out who the dog napped was so early on, but I loved having the story from Botha sides. From the poodle standpoint, this was spot on. I loved how she explained the haircuts and dog’s personalities. The ending is HEA and exactly what I wanted! I am usually hit or miss on historical romances, but I loved this.

This was such a cute book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved watching the MC's slowly fall for each other and not knowing that the other, too, was also falling. And the ending was just PERFECT! Not only so we get a HEA (for basically everyone, not just the MCs), but we get to watch the bad guy get run out of town. What's better than that?
I'll tell you what's better than that...PUPPIES 🤣

I adored this book. I loved the Bringing Up Baby influences, I loved how the main characters’ relationship and how they evolved as people, I loved Jimmy and Sally, and I loved the dogs. It’s not easy to pull off a plot line with dognappings—who wants to read about dogs being in danger? But Ms. Enoch did it and even made the dognapper a likable character. This books was full of humor and heart, and the real villain of the piece got his just rewards. The epilogue was just the icing on the cake. I smiled the entire time I read this book; it was the most delightful romance I’ve read in a while. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC; all opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed the capers around the dognapping investigation, which was a trope I never knew I needed to read! Lots of likable side characters, some 19th century science, and an unexpected sweet surprise in the epilogue also made this a really fun read. This was my first Suzanne Enoch book, but I’m bumping Something in the Heir up my TBR list now. Thank you NetGalley!
