I have adored every one of Erin Hahn's books and this one was no exception. Her characters are so wonderfully real. Getting glimpses into their lives is like having conversations with old friends. This was swoony and wonderful! I'll be raving about it to everyone I see!

I have been waiting for this book since I read Erin's first adult romance, Built to Last, and this followup was everything I wanted and more! Lorelai absolutely got the love she's been deserving of the WHOLE TIME. My only qualm was that at about 60% through the book, everything could've been solved if these idiots would have just had. a. single. conversation. It drove me nuts! But I am certain that is how you know it's good - so involved with the characters that you're yelling at a book in the middle of the day.
Thank you to NETgalley for this ARC!

Lorelai Jones, the darling of country music, finds her world turned upside down when a single protest song derails her promising future. The one constant in her life is her steadfast friend and former fiancé's bandmate, Craig Boseman (“Huckleberry”). Their history is complicated, but it's the kind of complicated that keeps you hooked from the first page. When Lorelai calls on Huck for help in resurrecting her career, the chemistry between them sizzles. Huck's unspoken love for Lorelai was so swoony and tension filled, and it made me root for them every step of the way.
This was not just a classic case of friends to lovers. It really draws you in to Lorelai's predicament and Huck is such a fleshed out main male character. These two deserve good things in their life. I'm happy I took a chance on this one.

While the plot was intriguing and I liked the country music setting in Nashville, the writing style was odd and it never hit the emotional punch it was striving for.

The beginning of the novel starts years in the past and takes you quickly through the present. Throughout the book, there are more flashbacks. I found this disjointing and a little nonsensical.

The writing style was more tell than show. Because of this, I didn't connect to the characters. Also, a bunch of character names with little description of what the characters looked like or what they did was disjointing. I couldn't keep all of the bland side characters straight. It wasn't until the end of the book that I realized a couple who are friends of the fmc were probably protagonists of one of the author's previous works.

I liked the fmc and mmc, but was frustrated because the only issue was that they were keeping themselves from each other. So basically just all the miscommunication trope. Nothing else was keeping them apart. They were close friends and also attracted to each other. I was confused about what the issue was.

I won't be reading more from this author because I don't like how she writes.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc for an honest review.

Erin Hahn has become a must-read author for me and I so enjoyed this one. Things I loved:

*the main character is named Lorelai (I'll always think of the Gilmore Girls which makes me happy)
*major Dixie Chicks vibes in regards to Lorelai's music career
*friends to lovers
*he falls first & hard
*redemption story
* Huck is a cinnamon roll hero who writes poetry!

Romance fans will not be disappointed with this one!

Friends Don’t Fall in Love is a heartwarming romcom about two best friends, who go their separate ways after a one night stand. Lorelai and Huck first appear in Built to Last, but you don’t have to have read that first book to enjoy their love story. I didn’t, but now I want to.

Lorelai was once a country starlet who fell in disgrace when she decided to sing a song that reflected her opinion on gun violence. Huck was Lorelai’s ex’s band mate, but after inheriting a fortune, he leaves Drake to open his own indie studio. And Lorelai’s attempt to return to the music scene is what brings them finally back together.

Hahn’s writing feels like a conversation. The reader is just a friend whom the protagonists are talking with as they narrate their story. This style takes us right into the story, as close as we can get.

Lorelai is such a fun protagonist to follow, and her struggles to accept her feelings for Huck make her that much more relatable. While Huck is so far gone for her, we can’t help but fall hard for him too.

With an amazing cast of characters, this book was a fun read from first to last page!

This is a great friends-to-lovers, second chance-ish romance! After reading Erin Hahn's previous book, Built to Last, I was excited to see that Lorelai was going to get her own story. Lorelai and Craig (Huck) had great chemistry as these friends, who once had a one night stand, realize their feelings for one another.

This was such a great read and I loved Lorelai and Craig. Famous people romances aren't usually a go-to for me, but Hahn does a great job of really focusing the story on the characters so it felt very grounded. There is a good amount of country music inside baseball going on in this book, but Hahn integrates it very well into the overall story so it never felt too heavy. I loved Lorelai and Craig as characters and their different journeys of their careers. They had great chemistry but I wanted to see more of the friends side of things. We see some flashbacks of them back in the day as well as a few scenes of them being friends in the current day but I wanted more on page to really feel their friendship.

I was told I would love Erin Hahn books but unfortunately I'm not convinced yet. I found the audiobook on Everand and it's possible that lead into my dislike of this one just because the timeline changes were a lot harder to keep track of listening to it vs reading it. I ALSO read this one after I read another music focused book that I didn't love and it's possible that also bled into my reactions. I didn't think it was too much of a romance more than it was a book on friendship and music. Overall it was ... fine. :(

I absolutely adored this book! Ended up listening to it as an audiobook and I’m so glad I did! The AB is absolutely amazing and even has music! Story has me hooked from the first time page.

Lorelei had it all. She was a country music star and had a fiancé but after playing a protest song she faces cancel culture and loses it all.
.
Five years later she’s not ready to be done with her career. She turns to her ex-fiancé’s band mate. Craig has carried a torch for her all these years. He’s willing to help her and be a good friend but it seems these two are destined to be more than friends.

Friends Don't Fall in Love was a wonderful, light-hearted read with the perfect amount of spice, humor, drama, and everything in between. I really enjoy dual perspective books, so love that readers get to hear from both Lorelai and Craig as their love story unfolds. As a music lover, the connection to the country genre was right up my alley, and also had me feeling a little bit of Daisy Jones and the Six vibes. This book covers quite a few tropes, some of which include: friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance, he falls first, one-night-stand, and more.

I loved Lorelai's character and everything she was imagined to be. I was particularly drawn to the way Hahn painted Lorelai's life, opinions, morals, and values outside of the music industry. These stories, emotions, and feelings helped portray her as a REAL person instead of just another famous star. I also thought that it was interesting how Hahn incorporated hard-hitting social issues that are often brushed aside in today's society. I think it acted as a reminder that these topics/events never go away, need to be talked about, and need to have space in our every day lives, or else things will never improve.

While reading Friends Don't Fall in Love, I can easily say I was SWOONING over Craig. However, Drake can...BYE. Craig is the sweetest, thoughtful, and down-to-earth individual - Lorelai's biggest cheerleader by far. Even though the slow-burn romance had me thinking "move it along, make it happen" at times, I was so happy once their feelings for one another were determined and their love story began to unfold.

I hadn't read anything by Hahn before, but she is certainly an author I will be picking up more reads from. It's always nice finding easy reads that warm your heart.

I adore Erin Hahn & love her YA books. Unfortunately this one felt a little too steamy too fast for me. Total personal preference & I think other people who love her writing will really like this one. Would typically not rate it since it's not her fault I don't love steam, but since Netgalley makes me rate it will be a 3 stars from me.

Lorelai was a country music darling engaged to one of country's biggest stars when she sings a controversial song and gets quickly cancelled by the fans, and loses her fiance all in one fell swoop. Five years later she is ready to try again, and goes to the one person who has never let her down, her fiance's ex-music partner. Craig has loved Lorelai since his ex-music partner was engaged to her. He has written songs for her, he has been in her corner, he has been her shoulder to cry on. Now they are best friends, but he still wants something more from her.

This book was everything fun about romance wrapped up in a gorgeous country music bow! If you love a good rock star romance, then you've got to check out this country star romance. The characters are such great friends and have an amazing comraderie together. The banter, the chemistry, the will they/won't they is absolutely out of this world; and the Nashville vibe of it all is the cherry on top! I fell in love with all of these characters and couldn't get enough of them.

Thank you to St Martin's Griffen for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Friends Don't Fall in Love is a book about two people who suffer from timing but mostly extreme communication issues. Our two main characters, Lorlie, whose past love has severely burned her, and Craig, who is so painfully nice and obtuse it hurts, have always been there for each other. This book read slowly for me because the main characters come together in person ~30 percent through. With a slow start and a miscommunication trope that lasted 200 pages, it took a lot of work to connect or even sympathize with the main characters. The plot also revolves around the country music scene and is riddled with references. I, a nonfan of this genre, only caught some of them. Altogether, this book was not for me, which is okay!

Thank you, Erin Hahn and Griffin, for sending me this book in return for an honest review.

This was such a cute storyline and I loved that the author created this character to be a singer/songwriter. I loved reading the lyrics that they were writing throughout the book and I feel like it just added an extra element to the story! The characters were so relatable (despite some of them being celebrities) because you could just feel and understand what they were going through. Overall, this was such a cute romance story that left me wanting more and one I would recommend to anyone wanting a lighter read!
