My first thought when I finished this book was “I loved that.” I’ve read probably a dozen Jill Shalvis books, and this is my favorite to date. I just felt good while reading it. Harper and Bodie both walk the line of people almost TOO good, but both have pasts that give them some jagged edges. They both have families who have played a role in the good people that they are; Bodie’s by showing him how to care unconditionally for the people who matter in life and Harper’s by the loss she’s faced and neglect showing her how she doesn’t want to treat others. Enter Ivy, a troubled teen who allows the two of them to pay forward all the goodness they’ve had or needed themselves. It is the fourth book in the series but can be read entirely as a stand-alone with the only common tie being the location. I fully recommend it for anyone looking for a heartwarming story of family ties, both blood and found family, with a side of romance.

I really enjoyed this book. Liked Harper and how she and Ivy had so much in common. Liked Brodie and the whole Campbell family. Shay and her grandmother made me laugh! Was a good fast read. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy

OMG!! I absolutely loved this book. Jill Shalvis does not disappoint. Harper and Bodie are amazing and funny. I loved their relationship, it was soo sweet. I really liked Ivy and how her storyline. Also the whole Campbell family ❤️❤️. Love them, especially the teasing between all of them. My favorites were Shay and her Abuela. They made me laugh. Definitely a must read⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was a sweet and emotional story about forgiveness and love. I enjoyed it and look forward to more books from this author. She never disappoints.

The Sweetheart List is a breezy, sweet 4+ star story with a lot of depth and character growth. I very much liked the multiple story lines and felt it kept the book moving. A few parts of the book were a bit far-fetched but still within the realm of possibility so it didn't really detract from the story. I loved the family aspect and camaraderie with the brothers and would love to be a part of the Campbell crew. This is the fourth in a great series but is a stand alone book. I would like to see more of the previous characters entwined into these later books. I received an ARC and appreciate NetGalley, the author, and publisher for allowing me the opportunity to provide a fair review.

The Sweetheart List is another compulsively readable page-turner from Jill Shalvis. Bodie made me swoon from the second he showed up, and Harper is easy to root for with her epic plans to open a bakery and avoid anything that doesn't spark joy. A delicious slow burn is definitely my kind of romance novel, and I devoured this story as quickly as I possibly could. Its fantastic setting, relatable family dynamics, and a runaway teenager desperately seeking love and a forever family kept me engrossed until the very end. This is a definite must-read for romance and women's fiction fans.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the complimentary copy. All opinions shared here are my own.

Harper Shaw needs a change and leaves an ex-fiancé and a hated job to re-locate with her loyal dog in the mountains near Lake Tahoe. Will she be happy there? That depends on Bodie Campbell who has attractive dimples and broad shoulders but is also the landlord the building whare Harper wants to open a bakery. Bodie and Harper both have relationship issues and are reluctant to trust anyone. When Ivy, a sixteen-year-old runaway shows up at Harper’s door, things get complicated Bodie’s tightknit family has trouble convincing Harper that Bodie and a good guy, but the more she sees him, the more interested she becomes. This is a girl meets guy tale sure to be snatched up by readers who like an innocent Hallmark-type romance.

Harper Shaw decides to leave her old life behind and start anew in Sunrise Cove. She plans to open her very own bakery there. After her last disastrous relationship, Harper has no intentions of falling in love. However, she cannot seem to resist her broody yet sexy business neighbor-slash-landlord. Harper also inadvertently takes in a teenage runaway. Will Harper find the acceptance she truly yearns for? Can she make her business a success in Sunrise Cove?
Bodie Campbell operates a family-owned bar on Lake Tahoe. He keeps his family and others at arms’ length. Bodie’s brother leases one of their buildings to a new tenant from out of town. When he offers to help her, the stubborn miss refuses him. Bodie believes he is not the settling down type, but something about Harper Shaw draws him to her. Throw in an angsty female teenage runaway into the mix. Can Harper help Bodie let go of his guilt? Or will he mess up a good thing?
Harper is such a likeable heroine! She simply wants to find the one place she belongs, and people who will love and accept her. Thanks to her father and ex’s inattention, Harper lacks confidence in herself and her instincts. I admire the courage it took Harper to make a fresh start. She realized there was nothing holding her to San Diego, and that Sunrise Cove offered possibilities. I imagine it was scary and stressful. What I love the most about Harper is how easily she took to Ivy. She understood the teen as no one else could. Plus, she made Ivy a priority, something the girl never experienced.
I have always had a soft spot for the wounded/tortured hero types. Bodie is a man riddled by guilt, and so, he uses that to keep people at a distance. I love Bodie’s family. They have experienced the loss of not one family member but two. However, they remain a tight knit family who look out for each other. Their family text and group chat messages made me giggle and smile. What I adore the most about Bodie is how mindful he is of Harper. He knows she has been hurt in the past. Bodie wants Harper to feel comfortable in their budding relationship.
I love Hambone, Harper’s Bernese Mountain rescue. His temperament and mannerisms reminded me so much of my grand-dog, Teddy. There were several moments when I thought “OMG! Teddy does that too!” or “That is so like Teddy!”. It made it easy to envision in my head.
THE SWEETHEART LIST is the fourth book in Jill Shalvis’ contemporary romance/woman’s fiction series, SUNRISE COVE. This story can easily be read separately from the prior books in the series. There is no continual plot or recurring characters, only the setting remains the same (Sunrise Cove, Lake Tahoe). The author touches on heavy subject matters in each book, but she lightens it with her humorous flair.

Harper has moved to Tahoe for a fresh start and plans to open a bakery. She takes in a teen who has run away, providing her with shelter and safety. Brodie is one of her land lords and the attraction is instant. This is a fun read with romance, family and a lot of humor. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

A huge thank you to Jill Shalvis, Avon and Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchnage for my honest opinion. The Sweetheart List comes out June 13, 2023.
I have been a long-time reader and lover of Jill Shalvis books and honestly, she continues to impress with her new book The Sweetheart List. I absolutely adored Harper and Bodie, they both had character development they needed to go through, and it was amazing to see them grow. I loved the relationship that both Harper and Bodie develop with Ivy. I thought the plot twist that happened was kind of surprising and loved what happened afterwards. The side characters were funny, supportive and really became a found family to Harper. Overall if you are looking for a fast-paced, fun and heartwarming book, The Sweetheart List is for you!!

Initial Thoughts
This was fantastic! I had a great time getting to know the characters in this story. Harper is ready to find some joy in her life when she moves to Sunrise Cove. She soon meets her landlord, Bodie, who also owns and runs the tavern next door. Her path also crosses a lost teenage girl that she decides to take under her wing. I loved watching these characters open up to each other and I wanted to see good things happen for each and every one of them. I listened to the audiobook and Andi Arndt did a great job of bringing this story to life.

I loved Harper and Bodie's story. The sub characters were a great add in for this book. A lot of love and a lot of busy body makes this a great read.

when Harpers life falls apart, she moves to Lake Tahoe to open a bakery. a sweet quick read. I read it in two afternoons.

I have been reading author Jill Sharvis for a long time, starting back when she was writing LoveSwept series romance books. I've always enjoyed her writing. I recently was given the opportunity to read The Sweetheart List and I loved it. I think it's the best book Jill Shalvis has written to date.
Cookies, racoons, a bear, a runaway teenager and a huge dog are among the cast of characters who wrap themselves around a heart warming story about finding friends, family and love. You can almost smell the cinnamon rolls or sourdough bread baking as you read the book.
Five plus stars from me.
My thanks to #NetGalley, #Harper Collins Publishing and Mary Interdonati for giving me the chance to read this book for a fair and honest review.

I loved this book and recommend it.
5 stars

Thank you Avon, Harper Voyager and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC!
I am so excited to have received my second Jill Shalvis advanced copy! I was immediately pulled into the story and this group of Sunrise Cove characters. Bodie is incredibly swoonworthy while Harper is hilarious and real. The descriptions of baking and her bakery made me want to whip up a batch of cinnamon rolls on the spot. But what I think made this another five star read for me was the inclusion of Ivy. The evolution of her character was authentic and added so much depth to the story as a whole. Jill Shalvis always creates characters that jump off the page and includes real life struggles in such a way that you can't help but to cheer them on. I gobbled up this book and am sad that I will have to wait for another Shalvis book to come out. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a heartwarming romance.

Loved it! I enjoy that the author has a continuing series about a location and that there is no "interaction" with past characters. while i enjoy reading series with characters that appear in subsequent stories, it's just as nice to only have the town to contend with.
To date, i've enjoyed all of the books in the series and look forward to the next ones.

The Sweetheart List is flat out yummy! Jill Shalvis has written a beautiful story about family, about siblings, about falling in love, parenting and most of all trusting others. Readers will adore the Campbell brothers, especially Brodie as he navigates so many new to him emotions once he meets Harper Shaw, who’s come to town to open a bakery, and Ivy, a teenaged run-away who has her own agenda. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

This was a really good book. I loved the characters. My favorite was ivy. I felt like i could relate to her because I didn't meet my father until I was fourteen. It was heartwarming and romantic. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publishers let me read this in exchange for an honest review.

Jill Shalvis has done it again! When I start one of her books, I’d better be prepared to lose some sleep, because I’m not putting it down until I’m done!
Harper Shaw has moved to Lake Tahoe to open a bakery. She has an emotionally distant father and worthless ex-boyfriend and is determined to make a new start in the one place where she remembers being happy. She has left behind her lists and is determined to only do things that bring her joy. Bodie Campbell, one of her landlords, is an ex-ATF agent struggling with the guilt of his partner’s death and feeling responsible for the heart attack that killed his father. Harper befriends Ivy, a teenage runaway with a troubled past, who came to town looking for her biological father, and takes Ivy under her wing at the bakery. Bodie’s family also figures prominently in this story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are so well written that I felt I knew them. And I definitely wanted to sample some of the desserts from Harper’s bakery. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of the Campbell brothers. And I fell in love with Hambone, Harper’s giant dog.
Jill Shalvis’s books spark joy whenever I read them. Her blend of heartwarming stories told with a sense of humor have put her at the top of my favorite authors list. My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
