Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Lisa Jewell is a staple in the mystery thriller world. Unfortunately this one did not hit for me. I did not enjoy the narrative of this one.

This is my review in exchange for having received a free e-arc. I enjoyed this Lisa Jewell suspenseful, popcorn thriller! It was my first experience with her writing and twists, and I found it to be fun and addicting. I do think readers must suspend their disbelief in order to kick back and drink in the crazy drama and unbelievable events in this story. The pacing was on point and even though the entire plotline wasn't jam packed with jaw dropping moments, Jewell doesn't let readers off the hook until the very last page. It was a fun one!

On their forty-fifth birthdays, two women both go out to eat with their families at a local restaurant. The two meet and find out that they are birthday twins; born on the same day and year in the same hospital. But they couldn't be more different. Josie Fair is married to a much older man and her children are grown. She lives in public housing and money is always an issue. Alix Summer is married to a successful man and she has made her own success with a podcast about women and their lives. Her children are still young and they live in a gorgeous house with everything perfectly arranged.
Josie suggests that Alix's next podcast focus be her and Alix reluctantly agrees. She isn't sure she is comfortable with Josie, something about her seems a little forward. But her first series is done and she is looking for a new focus and Josie's idea about women who are facing a change is interesting. They agree to meet and start. Josie comes to Alix's house and wants it all. She starts to tell Alix more and more lurid tales about her life as time goes on. She seems to be always there and things start to disappear from the house, little things that one could imagine they had just misplaced somehow.
Josie's marriage seems a disaster and Alix is having troubles in hers as well. Her husband, Nathan, has been going on alcoholic benders where he goes out for a drink and doesn't return until the next day. Once he starts drinking it seems he can't stop. Josie finds out about this and tells Alix they would both be better off without their husbands.
Then the night comes. Josie shows up on Alix's doorstep with a battered face and a story of domestic abuse. Josie agrees to let her stay the night and soon Josie has worked herself into staying fulltime. She continues to disparage Nathan and tries to worm her way into Alix's children's affections. Will Josie succeed in taking over?
Lisa Jewell is a British author who started her successful career in 1999. Since then she has written more than twenty novels, and this one is definitely one of my favorites. In this one, the reader can see how Josie is slowly but surely manipulating everyone around her and how Alix has let her own problems blind her to the evil Josie is introducing into her life. This book is recommended for mystery readers.

I’ve always wanted to read a Lisa Jewell novel. This was my first one! Right from the beginning the story pulled me in and I read it in one day! I love books that are hard to put down. I would recommend this one and want to try some more of Lisa Jewell’s novels!

This book is about two women that have the same birthday--they accidently meet on the birthdays at a pub. One of the women is very sophisticated and the other is quite jealous of her. She becomes obsessed with her and that is how the story takes off. Readers don't get to know the sophisticated women as well as the one who is obsessed. She becomes so envious of the other woman that her life ends up in shambles.

What a crazy book and a crazy concept. At no point in the story did I know what was happening or who to trust. It was wild and some that I'm still thinking about even after reading.

Her books never disappoint! Lisa Jewel is the queen of psychological thrillers. Thank you net Galley!

None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell is a gripping and twisty psychological thriller that keeps you hooked until the very end. The story’s dark, unsettling tone and unpredictable characters make it a truly addictive read. Jewell masterfully blurs the line between truth and lies, creating a chilling and compulsive page-turner. A must-read for thriller fans!

Wow, None of This Is True completely blew me away! After reading this story, I actually felt as if I could have recorded my own session of the featured podcast, I was just that vested! Jewell's characters were so well-developed they actually creeped me out a bit. Because they were so off-the-wall, I had no idea where this tale would take me. Honestly, I found None of This Is True to be quite addictive. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a fast-paced novel riddled with quirky characters!

This book gripped me from the very first page and I ended up reading it in just two days! This was unlike anything I had read by this author previously, but in the best way. It was fast paced, intriguing, and it kept me engaged until the very last page. I felt like I was really watching a Netflix series and was sad that it was over.
Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy (sorry it took me so long to read it!!)

Have you ever read a book and wondered after is it was true? This twisted tale of Josie and her complicated life takes you through many twists and turns resulting in more than one murder. But, who is the real murderer as each character tells their story, each person paints a different reality. Who will you believe?

What a crazy, dark ride! This was definitely darker than I expected, in spite of the reviews! I had a little trouble getting into this one initially, but once I got into the podcast element-a feature I really loved- I could not put it down. This book made me gasp multiple times, and I really think it is one book where the less you know about it, the better!
Thanks to Atria books and NetGalley for the ARC!

Birthday twins, or as they’re known, “Astro-twins,” Josie Fair and Alix Summers share a fateful coincidence—they’re both born on the same day and year. Their lives take a dark turn when a series of unfortunate events begin to unfold, raising questions about their true intentions. Is there a method to their madness?
The story starts innocently enough, with Alix celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at a local pub. A chance encounter with a stranger, Josie, reveals that they share a common birthday. As they talk, Alix realizes that Josie would be the perfect subject for her podcast. A series of podcasts in fact.
Beneath the surface, tensions are brewing. Alix and Josie’s lives are about to be upended, and trust is tested as secrets and lies begin to surface. The line between truth and deceit blurs, leaving the reader to wonder whether either woman will emerge unscathed.
As unreliable narrators, Josie and Alix are intriguing characters. The rapid-fire twists and turns keep the reader guessing until the very end. Lisa Jewell’s novel is a thrilling and suspenseful read that demands to be savored.
Many thanks to Atria and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
What happens when a podcaster looking for her next big story meets a woman who’s a little too eager to share hers? Alix Summer, a successful journalist, crosses paths with Josie Fair—who, coincidentally, shares her birthday. Josie insists their meeting is fate, and while Alix is unsettled, she’s also intrigued. As she begins interviewing Josie, she quickly realizes that truth is a slippery thing… and some stories are more dangerous than they seem.
I flew through this one! ✨ Lisa Jewell is always a solid bet for suspense, and while I kept waiting for something EVEN CRAZIER to happen, it still delivered plenty of unsettling moments. (Seriously, Josie gave me the creeps from page one! 😬)
What really stuck with me is how timely this book feels. In the age of social media and parasocial relationships, we often feel like we know influencers, podcasters, and public figures—but we’re really just seeing what they curate. Josie thought she understood Alix from her podcast, but real life is never that simple.
And let’s talk about instincts! Alix knew something was off with Josie but ignored her gut in pursuit of a great story. It reminded me of The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker—always trust your instincts! (Like, when a stranger shows up at your house and won’t leave… RUN. 🚪💨)
If you’re looking for a fast, eerie, and thought-provoking thriller, add this one to your TBR! 🎧📖

The beggining of this book had me absolutely HOOKED. I was so taken by the story and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what happened. However, I did feel like the twist wasn't as dramatic or interesting as I expected. It felt like so much lead up for an anticlimactic ending. But overall I would say the journey was worth it and would definitely recommend.

I am a sucker for book that use multiple modes of storytelling!!! The authors decision to flip back and forth between utilizing a podcast format and a normal storytelling formal was amazing. I really didn't know where this story was going as the story progressed, but Josie's character was unsettling enough that I tried to read this in one sitting to uncover the truth behind her character. This book made me feel icky in the way that Lisa Jewell most likely intended - curating an unlikeable antagonist that you later find out is a product of abuse and wrongdoings on others' parts.
My only critique is the title itself - I felt it was a major giveaway and left me hesitant to immerse fully into the story, knowing whatever I was reading was untrue...
4/5

Lisa Jewell is a master at her trade.
None of This is True is absolutely twisted. It draws you in and doesn’t let you go until the very last word.
With this story mostly written as a pod cast you really feel
like you are listening to that pod cast with all its twists and turns. You really believe what you’re reading then out of no where you’re hit with the biggest twist of all.
Loved this story.

This author never misses. The suspense is so good, the twists and turns are fantastic. I loved this one

None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell is an absolute masterpiece of psychological suspense. From the very first page, the tension builds in a way that keeps you hooked, unable to put the book down. The shifting perspectives between the characters are expertly crafted, creating an atmosphere of unease and intrigue. Jewell's ability to weave complex, unpredictable plot twists keeps readers on their toes throughout. The characters are richly developed, with secrets that are gradually unraveled in the most thrilling way. This is a must-read for fans of twisty, gripping thrillers. A flawless, 5-star page-turner!
