I love Lisa Jewell’s books so we elated to be able to read this ARC!

None of this is True is such a clever premise: Alix Summers and Josie Fair are birthday twins who happen to meet each other in a pub on their mutual 45th birthday. When Josie discovers Alix is a successful podcaster, she lobbies Alix to make a podcast about her, saying she’s on their verge of some big life changes. Despite her inner voice telling her she should be cautious, Alix dives in, fascinated by the darkness and weirdness surrounding Josie’s stories. Before long, Josie has completely wormed her way into Alix’s life and things start turning deadly.

No one does thrillers like Lisa Jewell does thrillers, and I couldn’t get enough of this dark, twisty, can’t-look-away, couldn’t-put-it-down thriller! Josie is a deliciously unreliable character, and her obsession is creepy and unsettling in the very best way. This book is a perfectly paced, intense, wild ride that had me on tenterhooks the entire time!
thank you to Atria Books. & Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book

Whewwww this was a dark one! And even at the end I'm still not sure what I believe. This is definitely a thriller that will stick with me for a while. It's unsettling and completely unpredictable. I loved how it worked in podcast recordings as well.

This is one of Lisa Jewell's best. Be sure to preorder ASAP.

Thank you for allowing me to read this book as an ARC!
Wow, this book has blown my mind away. I would say this is Lisa Jewell's best book ever! While I love all her books so far, this is another level way above all her other ones!
The suspense in this psychological thriller is intense. I could and did not want to put it down. Writing the 2 sides of the 2 protagonists and intertwining it with the netflix section iwas perfect. While the reader wants to take a side to be on, it's difficult because of the different stories and backgrounds we get fed. It was so mind boggling and intense.
While I thought I had it all figured out, Lisa throws in an ending that will shake the reader from the core. I had to read it twice in order to grasp the totality of it. Just simply wow and can't wait until everyone can read this and have some discussions with others.
Amazing work and would give it more than 5 🌟 if I could. I would say this is the best psychological thriller I have ever read!!!

None of this is True
Alex has a popular podcast about women who have overcome obstacles to become successful. On the night of her 45th birthday she meets Josie, a woman also celebrating her 45th birthday. Josie declares them birthday twins and eventually talks Alex into doing a podcast on changes Josie plans to make in her life.
Alex is an attractive woman with a seemingly perfect life. Josie is unhappily married to an older man and the mother of two troubled daughters.
When Josie arrives at Alex’s posh home, she becomes jealous of Alex and her perfect family. The story that Josie tells is scary and fantastic. Soon Alex has doubts about the truth of all of it. Josie forces her way into Alex’s house by telling of domestic abuse and now Alex realizes that she has made a mistake befriending this woman.
Alex’s husband, who Josie doesn’t like, disappears right after Josie is persuaded to leave their family home. Where is he and where is Josie?
This is a scary psychological tale. It is told in with the style of a Netflix documentary. The author has done an excellent job of keeping the reader in suspense.
I received this ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received an advance reader copy of “ None of This Is True” byLisa Jewell. Many thanks to the author and publisher .
This book surely deserves all the rave reviews it has been getting . Unputdownable? Absolutely. I read most of the book in one night and finished it the next morning.
Great story and MS Jewell knows just how to wind the tension tightly. Her main characters, Alex and Josie are ones you will not soon forget.
Anything I tell you about the plot would be a spoiler, beyond that a happenstance meeting goes deeply into a hellish Hitchcock- like nightmare.
Read it and lose yourself

Nothing objectionable as to language ans sexual content.

Jewell's thrillers are hit-and-miss for me, but this was a definite hit. I had no idea where the story was going or which narrative was accurate. A woman decides to change her life drastically and documents her changes/life story with a well-known podcaster. However, as the title suggests, you aren't clear who to trust. I couldn't read this fast enough! Content warning for all the things.

HOLY MOLY, another masterpiece by none other than Lisa Jewell. I finished this book in just under three days because I was so invested right from the beginning. The book revolves around two women who share the same exact birthday and were born in the same city and hospital as well as chose the same place to celebrate their birthdays. Psychological thriller lovers would ENJOY this new read. Thanks, Atria and NetGalley for the eARC. Can't wait for the next Lisa Jewell book already.

Hi, I'm your birthday twin!

Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, Alix, a popular podcaster crosses paths with Josie, a quiet woman who couldn't be more different from her.

When they bump into each other a couple of days later, Josie has a proposition for her - she would like to be the star of Alix's new podcast. Always on the search for a new project, Alix is intrigued... Josie has had quite the life and seems to be on the cusp of making huge changes. Interview after interview, we get to know Josie and you feel bad for everything she went through.. until you start questioning who she really is. Soon, Alix becomes the subject of her own podcast and the story is taking a dark, twisty turn.

Probably one of my fave from Lisa Jewel in a few years but I am a sucker for those true podcast books. Loved the writing, it was engaging and gripping.

Such a good book! Loved the characters especially and weird quirks that they had. I had no idea how the story was going to end and was so curious to see what happens that I read the whole thing in two days! Loved the excepts of the Netflix doc and the interviews that were put in from the podcast.

only critique would be I wish the ending was more clear cut but I understand wanting to leave the reader guessing.

OMG.
I think this is one of Lisa Jewell's best novels. I literally could not put this one down. It had be HOOKED in and I needed to know what in the world was going to happen. I loved the POVs alternating between Alix and Josie. Josie was...something else. I was scared of her yet she was one of my favourite characters. Everything was dark and twisted in this novel. You won't regret picking it up!

I really enjoyed Lisa Jewel’s book None of This is True. It’s a true page-turner and had me wondering what was the true story all the way to the end. I thought the style was clever with the podcast interviews and Netflix actors throughout the book. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

This book was a little slow but ended up getting more interesting as it progressed. I enjoyed the writing style but felt like the middle dragged a little. Overall a pretty good story.

I loved this book so much, it was the perfect thriller and I’m so glad it lived up to my expectations. It’s Lisa Jewell so I already had such high hopes for this - you won’t want to miss this one.

It’s best to read this book without knowing too much. Trust me, you’ll want to experience this roller coaster of a story without expecting anything and just enjoying it.

I could not put this book down at all, it was addicting and thrilling. The chapters were quite short, which I absolutely loved.

The format of the book is so interesting, and I think the dual pov worked so well with the characters, Alix and Josie.

The story starts off a bit slow, but the whole time it’s suspenseful and captivating. The narrators are both super unreliable and you never know what’s true.

There were secrets being spilled left and right and I was devouring this story. I loved the podcast aspect of it. Some scenes were also super dark and unexpected.

There were alternating povs via a Netflix podcast/documentary. There’s so much suspense and so much is revealed you never saw coming. Towards the middle is when things really picked up and I was obsessed!

The ending had me absolutely shocked. I was second-guessing every little moment and oh man, I was not prepared for that. I was so upset when the book came to an end.

This is definitely a book you should be anticipating. It was extremely addicting, suspenseful, and entertaining. This is by far one of Lisa Jewell’s best books. It’s a must-read!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Atria Books for the review copy in exchange for my honest review!

What. A. Ride. From start to finish, it took me under a day to read. I couldn’t put it down!

So many times throughout the book I found myself saying “what the f—“ out loud. The embedded clues made me feel like I had an active role in the events that were taking place.

The flashbacks, podcast recordings, and documentary scripts made for an engaging read. I listen and watch so much true crime, so it was easy to visualize each scene presented to the reader.

Lisa Jewell has done it again and this time better than ever! It is by far my favorite book of hers. I have been in a reading slump for MONTHS, and I devoured this book in a matter of days. One of my favorite troupes in a thriller is a “I want to steal your life” and the way she did this was so perfect. I loved the excerpts from the podcast/Netflix series that were thrown in. That may have been my favorite part.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book had me sucked so far in that I finished it in less than 24 hours, however I did have to stop and think about what I read for a couple of weeks before I reviewed it.

Overall I wouldn’t say this book was bad because I found myself unable to put it down, but I do think after finishing it the ending was quite underwhelming and I saw the “twist” coming a mile away, due in part to the main character Alix being naive and oblivious.

True to the title, “None of This is True” left me feeling speechless and conflicted on how to feel about anything I had read, but I wish more time had been spent on the ending. It felt rushed and I found I still had a lot of unanswered questions.

Dare I say this is Lisa Jewell’s best book yet? I realize this is a bold statement, but this book kept me hooked from page one!

Birthday twins, Josie and Alix, meet by chance when they are at the same restaurant to celebrate their big day. After the meeting, Josie realizes Alix is a famous podcaster and finds a few ways to run into her. Finally, Josie convinces Alix to do a podcast on her, and Alix realizes Josie has a very dark past. The suspense escalates when Josie shows up at Alix’s house in the middle of the night.

This book was so wild it gave me goosebumps. An absolute must read this August! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

None of This is True gave me team manuscript versus team letter vibes (if you're familiar with Verity). I was on my toes the entire time reading this story and I was questioning the motive of EVERY.SINGLE.CHARACTER. I have read almost all of Lisa Jewell's books, and None Of This Is True is by far my favorite of hers. I found it impossible to put this book down and when I did, I couldn't stop thinking about the truth of what Josie was saying. Did Alix really believe her? or was Alix pretending to believe her just to hear her story? A special thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for sharing this digital copy in exchange my honest review.

In my opinion, the best kind of mysteries are the ones that feed you enough clues to help you figure out the mystery, but still feed you one final, jaw-dropping twist at the end. Lisa Jewell is an expert at this, and her latest, None Of This Is True, is the perfect example as to why she’s queen of the twist.

I don’t want to say much and run the risk of spoiling any part of this story, but this one is perfect for fans of…
—unreliable narrators
—true crime docs/podcasts
—books you can read in one sitting
—cat and mouse games
—multiple POVs in mysteries

None Of This Is True hits shelves in August but if you’ve had the chance to read this one, please come tell me what you think of this ending!!

When you first meet Josie, something is definitely off about her. I wasn't sure if we were going to go into a mental illness storyline or something else, but there something wasn't right. The way she was so instantly obsessed with the fact that Alix was her 'birthday twin' was bizarre and her husband gave me the ick immediately.

As you learn more about Josie and you find out about her daughters, your antennas go up. Something is drastically awry here and you won't stop reading until you find out.

Alix on the other hand is a little too curious for her own good and gets roped into giving Josie her own podcast series. Through their conversations we learn more about Josie's upbringing and her relationship with her husband, all of which is very uncomfortable.

Josie is weird, we learn that much, and the almost parasocial relationship she forms with Alix and her family is very upsetting. I wanted to scream at Alix to stop letting Josie in!

As the book goes on and you learn more about both Alix and Josie's lives, things don't add up. There are missing pieces in all aspects and you almost don't even know where the book is going to go. You know that someone is harboring a secret but it's not clear that it is.

When everything comes to a head and you get the full picture, it's more wild that you could imagine. My jaw was on the ground and I was just shocked and riveted the entire time. Secrets are revealed, people die, and things are never the same for Josie or Alix.

I was not prepared for how the book would end. It was unexpected, sad and just really unsettling in so many ways. I felt horrible for all of those involved and without revealing too much, it was just devastating and undeserving but also it's important to remember that thrillers don't usually end up happy.

None of This is True was incredibly well written, had excellent pace, and some real character development - in both positive and negative directions. The main plot points were held close to the chest and it was a hard book to figure out which I always appreciate. It was unexpected in all the best ways.

If you have been wanting to sink your teeth into a thriller with an unexpected villain, you will love None of This is True. I definitely think it's one of Jewell's best books!
