Lisa Jewell has done it once again !! She delivers a riveting real page turner with a very appropriate title in None of This True
In None of this is true we are introduce to to Alix, she is a podcaster out celebrating her 45th birthday at a local restaurant, when she meets Josie, who is also celebrating
her 45th birthday. Josie is appears to be enamored by Alix and starts to do some research on the podcaster. Her desire to become closer to Alix is partly due to fact that Josie is married to a much older man and has two seemingly very peculiar daughters and she is ready to make a change in her dismal life and wants Alix to make her story known to the world.

Many of Lisa Jewell's novels are slow burns however this one is quite the opposite. Immediately after reading just a few pages, I found myself quickly drawn into this enthralling thriller with unreliable characters and startling revelations.
This was a great story however I think it would be even a better experience to listen to it as an audiobook , it would definitely make the story seem very authentic as the story blends into documentary style throughout the book.
Kudos to Lisa Jewell, this will be a record breaking novel!
I will be buying a hardcopy as soon as it's released.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fantastic psychological thriller that had me turning pages very quickly. This is definitely my favorite book by this author and I loved how the story developed. This story highlights a Netflix series based on a podcast begin created within the story, and in different points of view, this was an outstanding thriller. Two women, both turning 45 on the same day, meet and start to develop a friendship of sorts. One is has a popular podcast and one is looking to share her truth and change her life. I had no idea who was trustworthy and where this was going. Such a great read! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Fantastic, as it often is the case with Lisa Jewell. What a master storyteller. I really liked this one, it might be her best yet. Both the plot and the characters worked exceptionally well. Highly recommended.

2.5 stars

I feel like maybe I read a different book than the other reviewers. For me, this one was full of very unlikable characters acting in ways that hardly anyone does (I know this is a thriller trope sometimes to create the storyline but it does not work for me). I was able to figure out what was happening for the most part and then just had to continue reading to determine that I had in fact figured it out. The part I did like was the format which was unique and fun. I am sure plenty of other people will love this one - it just did not work for me.

I don't know how to talk about this one. It is so good but it was too close for me.
My dad is a Walter. He met his wife when she was 12 and I think he was 50. They announced their relationship when she was 18 but they were living together for years before that. Anyway she's a bit like Josie too. She is absolutely one to stretch the truth and make everyone uncomfortable in ways that no one else in my life has ever been able to. We had to ban her from my home because she would get into things and go in parts of the house we didn't want her to go. Stay out of my basement weirdo! She is also obsessed with my dad.

There is this dangerous assumption that just because the girl is young that she is a perpetual victim. She may have been in the beginning but she doesn't always stray that way. Weird abused girls can grow up to be dangerous too.
One thing that will always amaze me is that people like Josie are able to form alliances with other people who will do strange things. It happens in books but it happens in real life too.
So while reading this book I didn't have the disconnected "I am glad this is fake" feeling I often get when I fall into a domestic thriller.. Instead I felt like "I need to see how this resolves".
I have to admit I kind of liked that.

Thank you Netgalley & Atria Books for an eARC of None of This is True by Lisa Jewell!

WOWZERS. This is by far my favorite Lisa Jewell book yet. I typically find her books to be more of a slow burn, but not this one. From the very first chapter I found myself immersed in the lives of our two main characters, who happen to be birthday twins, one of which finds herself to be the subject of her very own true crime podcast.

Popular podcaster Alix is celebrating her 45th birthday at the pub with her husband and crosses paths with Josie. It's also her 45th birthday and they were born in the same hospital. When Alix and Josie bump into each other a few days later, Josie tells Alix that she thinks she could be an interesting subject for her podcast - She's about to make changes in her life.

Alix can't resist Josie, despite how strange she seems, and before she knows it, Josie is so entangled in her life that she may not be able to get her out.

I felt completely and utterly anxious the entire time while reading this book - In the best way possible. When you say a book kept you on the edge of your seat, this one really did. The twisted characters - Who on earth do you believe - And realistic plot quickly gives way to something sinister beyond what I ever imagined. The chapters alternate between POVs of Alix and Josie, giving us both main character's view points, as well as the story playing out through a Birthday Twin Netflix series (Sounds weird at first, but it's deliciously captivating, just trust me on this). The ending satisfied me. I wanted more, yet I felt good about where things ended. For some books, an ending like this one would upset me, but it's perfect for the storyline. I can't say much more without giving something away! Chef's kiss to Jewell on what I'm sure will be a record breaking novel in 2023.

I feel that with every Lisa Jewell novel I read her writing keeps getting better and better. This book sucked me right in from the get go. What a fantastic read! The novel opens with Josie Fair and her husband Walter out to dinner at a fancy restaurant to celebrate her 45th birthday. Coincidentally, at the same restaurant, Alix Smith and her husband and a group of friends are gathered to celebrate Alix’s 45 th birthday. Josie notices the group, especially Alix, and feels drawn to the woman who shares this special day with her. The two meet briefly in the bathroom and find they are in fact “birthday twins”. Now Josie is obsessed and begins to research her “twin” and listen to all of Alix’s podcasts. Having learned where Alix’s children go to school, Josie appears at the school drop off and confronts Alix, saying she has a story that might be worthy of its own podcast. A bit unnerved, but also intrigued, Alix decides to give it a go and start recording Josie’s story. . From the start, Alix realizes there is something that is not right about her “birthday twin” who seems to have some very dark secrets that she wants to share with Alix. Josie slowly worms her way into Alix’s life, disrupting her household along the way. Is her story the truth or has this whole podcast just been a large pack of lies? Tensions rise as the story climaxes and circumstances spin out of control. I could not put this novel down. I gave it a solid 5 stars!

Really loved this. The journey was twisty and turny and I wasn’t always sure who to trust. Even at the end there were questions. It was exactly what I wanted in a thriller. I recommend.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC

This is hands down my new favorite Lisa Jewells book. Dark and twisty. Just the way I like em’. 🖤😍

I was absolutely not ready for that twist! It’s been a couple days since I’ve read this book and it’s still living rent free in my head. I cannot stop thinking about it. 🤯

My entire mood throughout reading the entire book: UNEASINESS 😵‍💫 You’re gonna see all the red flags as you move through each page but won’t be able to stop reading! Annnnnd that ending is going to leave you STARTLED. I can promise you that.

I just love Lisa Jewell. None of This Is True brings forth Jewell's strengths and shines a spotlight on them -- truly her best work to date! Alix and Josie connect, and though it's very clear to the reader some things are off, this book promises you will not have a clear picture until the very last page.

Excellent story! I LOVED Jewell's latest novel, None Of This Is True to bits! It was suspenseful, thrilling, and such a fun treat to read. I was hooked right from the start and found myself unable put the book down for anything. I had to keep reading to find out what really happened and who was telling the truth. It was such an exciting reading experience! I've loved all of Jewell's books, but this one is her best yet. Such a great novel!

Lisa Jewell never disappoints for a fast paced can't put down book. BUT, her latest, None of This is True is my very favorite one yet!! It is suspenseful, entertaining and will keep you guessing until the end. Absolutely loved from the start to the end. Highly recommend!

I downloaded this last night and finished today. It was that good. By far, Lisa Jewel’s best book. I don’t know how she comes up with these suspenseful plots. This one is about two women whose lives intertwine because they found out they had the same birthday. Josie sits down with Alix to be part of Alix’s podcast, but the stories that are told are anything but true- or are they? You won’t know until the end, but enjoy the amazing ride.
Thank you NetGalley for a ARC.

I absolutely loved this novel! The unreliable character and only female perspectives were fantastic. I also loved the layout - Netflix paired with the podcast, moving back and forth between timelines. Would highly recommend this book! And that ending…. Perfection.

Excuse me, Ms. Jewell, are you okay? Because that was absolute bananas.

Let's start by saying that this is going to be everyone's favorite Lisa Jewell book.

Once I started this book, I literally could not put it down. The format was so binge-worthy too. It was told as a Netflix Documentary about a podcast about a relationship between two women who met one night while BOTH out celebrating their 45th birthday! A story within a story with podcast interviews, etc. I seriously hope that the audio version is a full-cast with podcast type sound effects!

Now onto the characters. 100% some of the most messed up an memorable characters ever. I will not be forgetting the details of this story anytime soon. My eyes were literally bulging out of their eye sockets like every other page, like I said, it's bananas. The twists just keep coming and the ending truly shocked me.

I feel like there is totally room for this story to be continued so I'd like to petition for a sequel!

Be warned, some of it was suuuuuper disturbing.

Thank you so much to Atria Books for the ARC. This book will be available on August 8th and I can't wait until everyone is talking about it!

This is the best book I’ve read all year! I know it’s Feb so that may not be saying much but it’s definitely brilliant. This was beyond twisty! It’s that nail biting feeling where you know in your gut that something isn’t right but not being able to put your finger on it. I had that feeling the entire book. Something is not right here!! But what is it!!! All. The. Way. To. The. End!

This kept me held in suspense on the edge of my seat and i just couldn’t put it down! My fav Lisa Jewell book yet!

I had to come back because I’m still thinking about this! The ending! Omg. It made me question everything. Gave me serious flashbacks to Verity. In what was really the truth. Who did what?? Who’s lying. Who’s telling the truth. So many questions. But like in a good way because i can’t stop thinking about it

Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summers crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins.

A few days later, Alix and Josie bump into each other again, this time outside Alix’s children’s school. Josie has been listening to Alix’s podcasts and thinks she might be an interesting subject for her series. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life.

WOW! This is one of the best Lisa Jewell books I’ve ever read. An absolute rollercoaster from start to finish. I could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the interview/documentary style format.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Talk about a super creepy read. Alix spent her time trying to be a good person and help out this complete stranger, Josie, and it unravels her whole life. I had sooooo many questions throughout this book while reading it. Thankfully they were all answered by the end. My mind was definitely spinning reading this one. So excited I was approved to get this ARC. Lisa Jewell never disappoints me!

All I can say, is bravo 👏🏻 bravo 👏🏻

I am a big @lisajewelluk fan, so when I saw she was publishing a new book, I could not WAIT to get my hands on it. This book was incredible! Honestly, my favorite Lisa Jewell book ever! I could not put this down, and that ending 🤯 I still don’t know who to believe!

I loved the mixed media in this as well, in the form of a Netflix documentary (which helloooo, Netflix doc obsessed over here) she did an incredible job describing the scene, I felt the documentary come to life on the page. I’m just in awe with everything about this!

I absolutely loved this book, and highly recommend you guys grabbing a copy when it’s released this August!

A huge thank you to @atriabooks via @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
