I've been reading this book series for awhile now, I love kami garcia! Her writing style is very unique and her books a joy to read. This book series is based on teen titans. I love how they're doing these books including other titans from the series. This series does make me think of another one but I won't say.

I'm enjoying these books more than I initially anticipated.

While I was inclined to rate it 4.5 stars due to the slower pace of the story, this deliberate pacing allows for the nuanced development of characters and the gradual establishment of relationships among them.

Raven, Garf, Maxine, and Damian find themselves evading H.I.V.E and Slade, relying on familial assistance, whether some are willing to offer it or not. They must also learn to harness their abilities or adjust their attitudes to outmaneuver their pursuers.

The character development is excellent. While I've openly expressed my lack of fondness for Damian, these books have offered me a better understanding of his character.

While action is sparse, the focus lies on their progression toward unity and the mastery of their powers.

Another smash hit by Kami Garcia. I’m a sucker for a classic character update and this series does it excellently. For anyone who loves the Teen Titans this is a must read.

This was a pretty good graphic novel. If you don't know anything about Teen Titans or Robin this series is a great jumping off point. I really liked in this one that we got to see more of the relationship between Dick Grayson and Damian. I can't wait to see where the next volume goes with all of these characters!

I love this Teen Titans series so much and this newest installation about Robin is… pretty okay!

Yes, this does feel a like a lot of set-up and not a lot of plot advancement because it’s Robin’s first book. If you’re coming into this with a lot of background knowledge about Robin, able to quickly rattle off the differences between Damian and Dick, then sure. This might be a little tedious for you.

For me, Robin has never been the one I gravitate towards, so I found the start of this exploration of his character intriguing.

Mainly, the art of this series is some of the best out there. Gabriel Picolo is just so dialed into these characters and you can feel the love being poured into each page.

3.5 stars rounded up

Kami is incredible as always. I am waiting with bated breath for starfire! And of course, Gabriel popped off with the illustrations. So excited!

I like the characters (obviously) and I LOVE Piccolo’s art style. But the story is so rushed and confusing. There’s not a flow to things. It just skips around. Also tired of all the forced heteros. Why are Damian and Max a thing?? There doesn’t NEED to be a group of six all coupled up! (I know Kori and Dick will be a thing cause duh).

Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC!

I love this series. And I love getting closer to forming the Teen Titans! But I also love learning about who they were and how they honed their powers PRE-teen titans. And this was all about Robin! Could have used a little bit more story, but I liked it all the same.

The story is more about the teens training and learning to control their powers and Dick showing up to help them do that. The bonding between Damian and Dick is fine as the two bond through combative training rather than talking things out--which suits the overall genre of a graphic novel rather well for some decent visual images.

Huge thanks to DC Comics and Netgalley for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's no secret that I love DC Comics and Teen Titans so when I saw this graphic novel getting ready for release, I automatically put it on pre-order. I smashed it in one sitting and was not disappointed at all. We are back with the Teen Titans as they navigate how to handle being hunted by H.I.V.E and what that battle might mean for them in the future. We see previously introduced characters come together and work as a team to come into their powers and see how far they can push themselves. In this novel, we are reintroduced to Robin and see his complicated relationship with Bruce's biological son Damien. I loved seeing these characters again and spending time with them. The worldbuilding is again amazing. The storyline has me on the edge of my seat and I can't get enough of this beautiful artwork! I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series!

Again, 5⭐️'s. Please release the next book soon!

Like the other installments in this series, this does not disappoint. As a long time fan of the Teen Titans it feels great to be getting new content to explore.

I read this book in one sitting - so it was definitely engaging. The plot was a little slow / thin to me, but the characters are fun, and Gabriel Picolo is one of my favorite DC artists. His art alone makes this a worthwhile read. I will saw that Dick Grayson in this novel felt like an odd mix of Dick Grayson and Tim Drake - who presumably does not exist in this universe, at least not that I know of. The character design and his relationship with Damien reads much more like Tim Drake, though his fighting style and backstory are Dick Grayson's.

I will say I'd probably have to re-read this book in physical paperback at some point when I get a chance. The text was hard to read at points on the digital arc (I think because I read mostly on my phone), and many of the last pages were uncolored, which I believe to be because the book was unfinished rather than a deliberate choice.

I did overall enjoy this book though.

Teen Titans Robin is the 4th book in the series. I have loved all of the ones I have read and am really hoping that this one ended with a hint to book 5. Not everything fits with the single issue comics, but the fun thing about DC is that there are so many universes that anything can be changed and it is just an Elseworld title. The colors were well done I love the blue tones at the beginning and then watching them change as things change in the story. The letters are well done they don't interfere with the story at all. I stayed up way past my bedtime because I just could not put it down.

Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo have such a great understanding of what makes the Teen Titans such a great group of characters. They’re wonderfully developed here and beautifully draw.

Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC of this book. I’ve been up and down on Garcia’s take on the Titans. I know this is a new version of old characters in a new, YA universe. I get it. I appreciate the love letter to Mark and George at the beginning of this book. That warmed my heart. I can imagine someone who has no idea about these characters picking this up and loving it.

Picolo is the start of the series without a doubt.

A bit of a "training montage" volume where a lot of the emotional bonding and powers breakthroughs happen too fast (and are borderline superficial), but still satisfying for what they symbolize. A big appeal of the Teen Titans (in all their incarnations) is that they are a found family - that they love each other and support each other. And in this volume you see those bonds really start to grow. Adding in Dick as a foil/family for Damian is a nice addition too - and it will be really interesting to see how the Robin/Starfire dynamic works when Damian is the one in the Titans.

Another great addition to the Teen Titans series. I've been a fan since Raven came out and this one definitely did not disappoint!

I love Kami Garcia as an author and I adore the artwork that Gabriel Picolo does for this series.

The action and danger are starting to build and it's getting more and more interesting. I can't wait to read Starfire's addition when it comes out next July!

Thank you so much to DC Comics and Netgalley for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
