This book immediately drew me in with its catchy title and great cover.

It was a quick and relatively enjoyable read full of silly jokes and puns that any goth would appreciate. The illustrations and pictures also add to the overall experience and are very cute and visually appealing.

That said, while the overall premise of this goth joke compilation seems interesting, it was also a bit underwhelming and not as original or memorable as I had hoped it to be.

Still, I would recommend this book as a simple gift for any goth in your life as I believe that the physical reading experience would enhance the enjoyment of it.

My favorite joke:

❝How much for the goth cucumber?

That’s a cactus.❞

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know what this was but funny was not it. The only ones I can see actually enjoying this are middle schoolers who haven't heard better jokes before.

There are some roll your eye moments in here, but a very funny book and a great way to gorget your woes for a moment.

I was promised a smile and for this book to be funny, but I got neither.

The book description gives promises that the book doesn’t deliver.

This book is just a compilation, where many of the “jokes” were adapted or reprinted from online joke databases, and based on the quality of the book this is something that almost anyone could have compiled without even being an author.

❝Some people are such treasures that you just want to bury them.❞

This quote is the only good thing in the book in my opinion.

Oh My Goth is a short book of jokes with a Goth twist. Some of them made me smile while others were in Dad joke territory or as clever as ancient elephant jokes without the racism, unless you count Emos as a race of beings. Most of us don't.

It's good for a few minutes of mild amusement. No laugh out loud moments but that wouldn't be very Goth.

"Some people are such treasures that you just want to bury them"

This was a quick and fun read and I'm so glad I came across this.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher 8th Circle Press for the electronic ARC.

This really was just one of those under a hundred pages joke compilations you find in bathrooms, but cleverly themed with goth jokes. I chortled, I told them to my friends, I was never grossly offended. There are a few jokes referencing dead animals, and many referencing death, as to be expected. Beyond that I found them pretty amusing. The art and included images were very on-theme, and the one next to the joke about the full moon made me laugh just to look at it.

It's an extremely quick read if you need some giggles.

As a non goth, I really liked this book. There were a few jokes that I actually found funny (in a dark humor sort of way), which I was not expecting. It was not what I expected at all, but I still really liked it. It definitely could have been longer, but was still really cool.

Oh My Goth by Andrew Shaffer is fore everybody who probably went through that faze in high school and may still be in it, because lets just be 100% honest with ourselves, it was never just a faze! This book contains jokes filled with puns that just about anybody that considers themselves goth or emo or punk would pick up on and I got a kick out of it. I tried a few at work and while they rolled over like a tumble weed in a desert, I got good laugh at them.

To use the famous words of Andrew Shaffer - Oh My Goth!!! This book is so funny. I guess it takes one goth to know another lol. I am a goth ever since high school. Never changed. In my 50's and still goth. This book is well worth reading!! I have never laughed so hard. I loved the book and would love to read more of this authors books. Hopefully I can find them. This author needs to put out more books. Loved the jokes even if only Goths understand, everyone should read this book.

I got a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review

Look, this book is... goofy. A few of the jokes were good enough to make me groan, and honestly, if you're judging a book by its cover, you probably know what you're getting into in this case. In terms of delivering what it promises, yup, that cover's pretty accurate. As a recovering goth, I felt seen. Was it deep? No. Did I immediately text my significant other one of the jokes? Yes, yes I did.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Rating it specifically as a KU read--I think I'd be annoyed by how short it is if I bought a copy, honestly, but who knows.

Too short, but light-hearted and fun to read.
Great zingers for any occasion.
I received an advance copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

This was quite the collection. Not whst I expected but in a good way.
Lots of thought has clearly gone into creating each piece with lots of linguistical skill

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. This is a fun, entertaining joke book. It's a very short, quick read at 96 pages. There are regular jokes and one liner jokes with illustrations mixed in.

I would recommend it to people with a dark sense of humor, goths and people who like a quick, fun read.

Thank you, Andrew Shaffer, for making me feel a little less dead inside.
Also, remember, vampire jokes suck.

This is 96 pages of well executed puns. I read this while scowling at my boss. I would recommend sneak reading this at work.

This book was okay. The jokes were dry and sarcastic, and I did think some of them were funny but overall I don't think this book was really for me. For the right audience though, I would definitely recommend it.

As a person who also agrees it's "not a phase", this was very underwhelming and lazily done. Any elementary school kid can compile corny jokes they didn't write from a Google search. I don't think it's right to have for sale—it's clearly an easy money-making venture that's meant to be bought by people who like giving joke gifts or would want it as a silly Halloween prop (in May? Why is it being published in May? I figured it would be August or September.)

As a former goth kid, I was actually curious about how this joke book would be. I thought the jokes were actually adorable and funny while getting a lot of the references in between. Real goths actually get it, and now I am just motivated to transform into my legion of darkness self just to go to a goth club and just spit out these jokes left and right. I'm so tempted to see how this would go with other goths and I want to have fun laughing at the jokes.
Well done Andrew Shaffer!

I received this ARC complimentary from netgalley and 8th Circle Press in exchange for an honest review. The book may have been complimentary, but this review is all mine.

This book is fully of silly quips. Most of the jokes fall into the territory of a goth dad joke, but some of them are downright hilarious! I highlighted a few that I really enjoyed. I hope to use them at a party one day. If you're into horror, or were a goth kid, and have a few minutes to spare, I recommend picking this one up. You'll laugh at at least one of the jokes!

I may be a little biased because I was a goth growing up but I loved this!! I can’t wait for this to come out so I can own the physical copy! The jokes are a little cheesy and not everyone will probably enjoy them but I did!
