There were definitely some real gems in there that genuinely made me laugh out loud and that I hadn’t heard before. I think each page having its own illustration will really add something to the book that’s missing from the ARC. I would for sure get this as a birthday or just because gift for my goth friends but I can see how this wouldn’t be for everybody!

Thank you @Netgalley for providing me with an arc
This book was short and fun. It would be totally enjoyable for the right audience!

A "humerus" book of jokes that is sure to induce both chuckles and groans. It actually left me wanting more.

*I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Net Galley.

As an elder emo, I enjoyed this book. The jokes were dad jokes for elder emos, and I was very here for it. It was the right length for something like this. Much longer and I may have lost interest, so this was great.

Oh my goth, this is everything I needed today. Thank you so much to Andrew Shaffer, 8th Circle Press, and Net Galley for the advanced reader's copy!

Was this extremely corny? Absolutely. Did I blow air rapidly out of my nose? Also yes. I was very amused by quite a few of these. And I would absolutely have a chippy of this chilling on my coffee table for guests.

My favorite joke? "My grief counselor died. He was so good, I didn't even care" 🤣

I requested this book because I regularly use and mention jokes from books I read on my internet radio, however I found most of the jokes these unfunny. I sadly can not write anything good about this book and will not be recommending it.

Some of the jokes were good but overall it felt flat for me, was a quick easy read. Not my favourite.

I requested this book because it sounded pretty entertaining, but I found most of the jokes painfully unfunny.

Dark humor for those just a little bit dead inside. As an elder emo, I just had to have this one.
It's hard to write a long review for a book centred on jokes, however I will do my best.

Oh My Goth was exactly what I needed after a long, busy day. Most of the laughs were merely blowing wind through my nose loudly (you know the type of laugh) but some did make me chuckle loudly. I would gladly read this one again once published, mostly just so I can see the illustrations how they are meant to be seen.

Unfortunately this will not be a long review. I found the art work fascinating but the jokes did nothing for me. Only one or two were chuckle worthy at best. Most are old and give "dad joke" vibes.

A few good jokes but most were just ok. I was looking for a bit more humor. I did enjoy the lightbulb joke and the Joy Division joke.

The cover and the title were the reason I wanted to read this. Like you would except from a book of jokes, some made me laugh and others didn't. Humor is subjective and that's not a bad thing. I laughed enough that I overall enjoyed the collection and can't wait to see the finished product.

This was such a funny yet dark read - I loved it and had lots of laughs.
I cannot wait to see what the finished version with illustrations will look like.
I loved this quick read and would definitely recommend this book. I rated this 5 out of 5 stars.

Even the most jaded of Hot Topic clerks will crack a smile at this morbidly funny joke book compiled by New York Times bestselling humorist and low-key goth Andrew Shaffer.
This illustrated collection is perfect for Halloween—or anytime, really, since true goths know that every day is Halloween.

So snarkily delightful. I can see many teens (and like-minded Goth-y adults) just eat this up. Well laid out, with excellent illustrations, and overall a great time.

Question why did the goth girl paint her nails black, answer to match her soul. Question what do you call a gloomy bird, answer a goth chick these are just two of the stupid jokes you’ll find an Oh My Goth by Andrew Shaffer. Silly jokes or my guilty pleasure and there are so many but the stupider the better in this book is chock-full of great ones. This is a book I highly recommend if you are like me in love stupid jokes and silly puns then you’ll love this book I certainly did. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I’m leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

As an “elder emo”, I immediately downloaded this as soon as I seen it on NetGalley. I haven’t laughed this hard in awhile. These jokes were wonderfully, dryly hilarious. I feel like only a former 2000s emo kid could truly appreciate the hilarity of three jokes. I am almost 31 years old and I prove to myself every day that it wasn’t a phase!

Honestly i don’t really sure what i just read but hey, i got new riddles to play with my brother and sister! It’s short bun kinda bafflingly funny, or is it just me? Anyway, if you’re looking for a darkish humor but still funny if you squint your eyes, this is your next book!

Slightly cringy, several bad puns, most jokes I've already heard before... but still kinda entertaining!

I did not expect a book like that. I can google the same kind of bad jokes too if I want to. It wasn't funny at all. I thought it would be original and dark humour, but no.

A huge thank you to 8th Circle Press, Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles and Andrew Shaffer for giving me a chance to read Oh my Goth in exchange for an honest review.

From the very first page, the laughter is guaranteed.
Do yourself a present and read it. It's the perfec balance between dark humor, puns, comedy and lighthearted joke I've ever seen.
If you haven't laughed by the end, you are lying to yourself.
