This is part of a series, but it could be read as a standalone novel. For those who are familiar with the series, they'll enjoy going back to the Valley Greens Farmers Market for Caroline and Noah's story. It's nice to see other familiar characters. The pace is active to keep the reader engaged, and the relationship moves at a realistic pace. Fans of sweet Amish romances will likely enjoy this book.

I'm enjoying this series and I believe this is my favorite so far. I thought the title was intriguing and wanted to find out more. I like the way Noah's secret didn't come out early in the book and I was really surprised by it. Usually the Amish books have great relationships between the family members but this was a little different. Stirred things up a bit.
Looking forward to the next book.

Hiding a painful secret, valley newcomer Noah Riehl is looking for a fresh start with few complications. He hopes his job at the Farmer’s Market will give him the quiet life he craves. But light-hearted Caroline Hartzler has other ideas. She practically falls in love with him at first sight. And when she asks Noah for a not-so-simple favor—and won’t take no for answer—he finds himself reluctantly agreeing…

Caroline refuses to listen to the gossip that has followed Noah into the valley, or even to her own daed’s warnings. She’s taken with Noah and his gentle, generous spirit. In fact, he’s the perfect person to help her discourage an unwanted suitor—by pretending they’re courting. Yet the more time they spend together, the more Caroline must remind herself that their relationship is just a temporary ruse. But she’s not the only one struggling. . . Secretly, Noah’s feelings for Caroline deepen more than he thought possible, helping him renew his faltering faith. But when rumors about his past threaten to ruin them both, they must pray that the truth leads them to the blessed union they long for.

I adore an Amish romance, and will devour any I can get my hands on. This book was a wholesome, clean, fun read, showing that love and friendship are more important than heresy and rumours.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

I enjoyed being taken back to the Valley Greens Farmers Market with Caroline and Noah’s story. We see several characters from the previous Surprised by Love series emerge as supporting roles to the main characters. Fast paced Caroline draws auctioneer Noah, who has been trying to fly under the radar from his past, into a pretend boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Will their feelings for each other turn from fake to real and will Noah’s faith and trust in God and humanity be restored by Caroline’s friendship?

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book given to me by Zondervan and NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

A good romance mystery overall, but tended to skim a bit with his conflict. Might just be me. Would recommend.
