You Can Trust Me was a fast bingeable read. I really enjoyed the alternating POVs and dual timelines. Would highly recommend and can't wait to read more from this author.

You Can Trust Me is a clever, stylish thriller that flips the con-artist trope on its head. Wendy Heard crafts a fast-paced, twist-filled story full of charm, suspense, and razor-sharp banter. With vibrant characters, particularly its two bold and brilliant leads, this novel is equal parts heist and emotional journey. Heard’s writing is confident, propulsive, and full of surprises. Set against a backdrop of luxury and danger, the book delivers a perfect mix of thrills and heart. Smart, subversive, and endlessly entertaining, You Can Trust Me is a standout in the modern thriller genre.

Sometimes there is nothing stronger or more beautiful than female friendship, and this book epitomizes that. When Leo goes missing after spending time with a mysterious billionaire she was attempting to hook in order to steal from, her best friend Summer does everything- including spending time with a slimy tech entrepreneur- to attempt to locate Leo. There are a couple twists I didn't see coming, including who killed Leo's sister and who Michael the billionaire was painting, and "collecting". I don't want to give away anything else, but suffice it to say that I had a hard time putting this book down- I wanted to find out what happened to Leo just as much as Summer did. I was a little worried about how everything would tie up in the end, but I have to say the ending fit the book perfectly. I've been recommending this book for a while at this point, and will continue to do so!.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc of this book! I enjoyed the vibes and mystery, though it wasn't anything that fully caught me. I can see others really enjoying it though!

You Can Trust Me by Wendy Heard is a wild ride! Her characters and storylines really propelled the action.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing-Ballantine Bantum for this copy. Great story!

You Can Trust Me is a compelling read that combines suspense, emotional complexity, and social commentary. For readers seeking a novel that challenges perceptions and keeps them on the edge of their seats, this book is a must-read.

You Can Trust Me is a twisty, fast-paced thriller that hooks you from the first page and doesn’t let go. Wendy Heard introduces us to two con women with a complicated bond and a dangerous new mark, pulling readers into a world of secrets, power plays, and unexpected turns. The story is sharp, edgy, and full of tension, but what really stands out is the depth of the characters and the way trust—earned, broken, and manipulated—drives every move they make. It’s smart, addictive, and impossible to put down.

Haven’t a had a chance to finish this and write a thorough review but I will come back to update it when I’ve finished. So far a solid 3 star rating and will make sure to come back to add more details

A fast-paced thriller about con artists, danger, and trust among thieves. Stylish, edgy, and filled with clever twists. Super bingeable.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! While You Can Trust Me does take you on a journey, it was just too unbelievable to me, the fact that these two street smart women trust some of the people they do seems very uncharacteristic. I loved the dynamic between Summer and Leo but it was also a bit odd to me that Leo would just trust to go with this random dude without her literal partner in crime. All things said this was still a cool journey to go on but I found myself just having to trick myself into thinking that these characters got weaker/less intelligent and skilled in the second half of the story in order to get through.

A gorgeous cover with a mystery that kept me hooked to the page!
Summer and Leo dream of money - not needing to worry about where it comes from or how to make it. Through different channels, they both learned to be cons. Summer is an amazing pick-pocket, Leo is good at getting men to trust her while she gets secrets and photos she can sell. They're gorgeous, sweet or sassy, loud or quiet - whichever each new mark they pick needs.
But one night, Leo suddenly goes missing. It's unlike Leo, they always respect making sure they check in - so Summer knows something is wrong. Although Leo is getting restless and Summer has to wonder if she's decided to leave.
It was a great mystery, told in each POV - that switches with each chapter. It ramped up with tension and kept me needing to know what happened next. Each POV, in the audio, had a different narrator and I loved the switch! It was a good twist and I liked the conclusion.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Wild, thrilling, juicy. Summer was a really fun character to get to know, and I did not see the ending coming! Loved it. 4 stars

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of You Can Trust Me by Wendy Heard in exchange for my honest review and opinion. The cover of the book and the premise really grabbed me. However, I found myself drifting while reading. I liked the characters okay and like I said, the premise, but something just fell a bit short for me with this one.

Thank you again for this opportunity.
This book to me was such a fun summer feels type of read. I loved everything about it. I felt like it took you on a ride through out the book with its unique storyline. I like the dull timelines. Overall it was very intriguing and I am glad I was picked to be able to read this.

I was really excited about You Can Trust Me—the premise had me hooked, and I love a story where smart, resourceful women turn the tables on powerful men - especially in today's world of calling out misogyny. The book started off strong, with an intriguing setup, a fast pace, and main characters whose backstories added just enough depth to keep me invested. It was an easy read with shifting timelines that kept things moving, and for a while, I thought this was shaping up to be a solid four-star thriller.
But then it completely lost me during the last quarter of the book. The tension that had been building started to fizzle out, the dialogue became awkward and forced, and the characters started making choices that felt completely out of step with the people we had come to know. They already read a little young for their ages, but by the end, their decision-making felt downright immature. And the villain, who should have been a menacing and powerful figure, ended up feeling almost cartoonish.
On top of that, the big reveal wasn’t all that surprising—I had a feeling from early on where things were headed, and when the truth finally came out, it didn’t hit the way I wanted it to. I also didn’t understand why Leo felt the need to lie to Summer about what happened to her sister—it didn’t add anything meaningful to the story and just left me frustrated.
That said, it was still an entertaining read. It had a fun, escapist quality to it, and I flew through it pretty quickly. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that the book didn’t quite know what it wanted to be—was it a sharp, clever thriller or an over-the-top, just-go-with-it kind of ride? It wavered somewhere in between, and because of that, it didn’t fully land for me. A decent read, but not a standout.

I’m not always a fan of con-artist thrillers but I enjoyed this one! The pacing was great, and the uneasy, claustrophobic vibes on the billionaire’s mysterious island hit the spot. This was a wild one, but not so wild that you had to suspend disbelief like some thrillers out right now. It’s really hard to enjoy thrillers because I feel like once you’ve read enough they all become too predictable. But this one was a good one.

This one took me awhile to get into but once I did, I found myself enjoying unraveling the mystery of it all. I wanted a little more character development and there were a few loose ends I didn't feel super satisfied with but overall I enjoyed this quick read.

Summer and Leo have lived a hard life - finding their way in the world through whatever means necessary, which at times can get them into trouble. When Leo goes missing, Summer finds herself in the biggest con of her life as there isn't anything she wouldn't do for her best friend.
An addicting thriller full of twists that, at times, are predictable but nonetheless entertaining. This would be a perfect summer read for thriller lovers!
Thank you to Random House Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This one was hard to get into but it was worth the effort of sticking with it. It was a light thriller but it was still enjoyable. I would be willing to read what comes next from this author.

I wish a new phrase less overdone than “page turner” would come to mind. I recently found myself in that swamp that all readers find themselves in from time to time. I read a little of this and a little of that of books that I felt that I should be interested in. On a whim, I opened up You Can Trust Me and basicly I was off to the races. At bedtime I had to make myself close the book and the next day I looked forward to opening it again. Although the author has not put forth an earth shattering cure for the world’s ills, she gives us likable characters in unusual situations going at breakneck speeds that you will be rooting for.
