This board book coming from Happy Yak is all about who made it stink. Was it the gorillas’ teeth, the crocodile’s eggs, or the penguin’s fart? It’s up to the reader to solve the mystery. This board book is interactive with flaps and pull the tabs. The illustrations are fun and exciting, and this could be a habitual read from any child.

This book was adorable! I immediately went out and bought it for my two kids and they love it! The illustrations were great, the story fun and funny, and the interactive pieces make for an overall great read for the kids!

A fun and short pictures book with stinky farts jokes and interactive sections. The story is about a crew of animals going on the moon and dealing with things that stink up their ship. Plus, the story is told in rhymes!

The illustrations are cute (especially the spiders) and hilarious. The bright colours really add to the story and the interactive parts that you pull reveal even more funny moments on the ship.

A penguin, a tiger, an elephant, a gorilla and a crocodile are getting ready to fly to the moon. They squeeze into the tiny red rocket, and on take-off a hideous stench fills the crowded space. Penguin is the immediate suspect – but he blames the crocodile’s eggy packed lunch. To save their noses, the lunch is expelled out of the rocket. But the smell remains. Each of the animals in turn is accused, and potentially smelly items are jettisoned – to no avail. Eventually, the animals themselves leave the rocket to escape the noxious fumes – all except one. Guess who the real culprit is!
I read an ARC of this book on my computer, but it will be so much better in the board book format, where there are pull-out strips each time the guilty party breaks wind (thankfully not scratch-and-sniff).
The illustrations are bright and colourful. The stench is a vivid green. Apart from the animal astronauts, birds and spiders are also on board (though when they got on, we don’t know, and neither are they seen to evacuate when the animals do). All have wonderful expressions on their faces. The story is told in rhyming couplets. Most of the words will be understood by a young child, but a few might need explanations. Still, as long as they rhyme, the story should proceed without a hitch. Some parents might object to the f-word for breaking wind.
The various stinky items on board could lead to a discussion of which smells worst: egg sandwiches? week-old socks? brussels sprouts? or an animal breaking wind?
A fun book to read to young children – recommended.

Stink In Space! is a funny little book for children. My boys laughed so much! The short story, font, & graphics are great and the story with the rhyming words is a plus. It's something we review often with my kindergartener. My oldest loved the book also; he wants to be an astronaut & at this age they talk about farting all the time. 😂. This is a great book to add to a children's library.

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
A group of animal astronauts try and find out who is causing the stink.
There are plenty of things to make the book interactive and keep it interesting.

It's both funny and entertaining, especially when they're trying to figure out where the smell is coming from. I can't stop grinning.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. All opinions are my own.

A fun book that will make most kids get a case of the giggles. I LOVE books that are a little bit silly, because they are more likely to attract kids who may not be overly fond of reading or books. Also who does love a little toilet humor now and then?

Stink in Space is an absolutely adorable book! Lovely illustrations, interactive pull tabs and it had my 3 and 6 year olds laughing the whole time. I would specifically look for this book in the shop to gift to my friends or family, I have someone in mind already even.

Cute and humorous. Animals + space! The story is very simplistic, young children are sure to love it.

We really do have blast off with this book that shows what happens when some animals share a space rocket to the moon and one of them lets rip in the bottom department. Not a heck of a lot is added by the inclusion of a tab to pull up in several places, but it does reveal a subplot involving some spiders, and show the spacecraft with all its own ejections. It's all a whimsical bit of frivolity, and not too bad at all, unless you absolutely hate toilet humour.

For kids currently in the fart phase of childhood, this is a winner. Penguins, astronauts, and farts. This is tailored to my own four year old.
