PLOT TWIST was a steamy friends-to-lovers that started out feeling like a light comedy, but has a lot of depth and tackles some seriously tough topics.

I had a hard time liking the heroine with her insecurities. She came off as very immature to me. By the end I still wasn't sure if she us ready to be in a romantic relationship.

I enjoyed Plot Twist, although there was not s lot of twist, per se. It was a fun, breezy beach read. It had some interesting elements I've not seen before, such as the meetings with the exs, that I liked a lot. Recommended for large collections where romance is popular.

This was a fun read, and the romance really delivered for me by the end. I found the narrative voice especially engaging, something that is not always the case for me with contemporary fiction. Also, the cover is STUNNING. There's something about that salmon pink that I just can't stop staring at.

Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for granting me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Personally, I struggled to get through this one. Something about vomit in the first chapter really killed the romantic anticipating before it'd started.

This was a good read and a solid romance novel! Sophie is a down-on-her-luck romance author who's never fallen in love and Dash is her best friend's brother and her landlord. I loved almost how mundane the story was. Even though it borders on a celebrity romance, it feels real and like it's something that could happen every day in real life. both Sophie and Dash are flawed and so real, no two-dimensionalism. Sometimes with romance books, the main characters are a little too perfect but Sophie and Dash were just the right amount of NOT perfect. All in all, a solid read.

This was a cute, sweet, and spicy romance. It has my favorite trope of forced proximity and it is so well done! While this book does deal with some pretty tough topics it is done well and in a respectful way. Sophie is having some major writers block and is on a tight deadline to get her book turned in. She thinks that her failed attempts at love have contributed to her writers block so she chooses to meet up with each of her exs to try and figure out what went wrong in their relationships. Her landlord Dash offers to go along with her on this journey and they both have to battle their insecurities to have their happily ever after.

Plot Twist is a book filled with so many treasures for fans of stories that follow strong heroines and former heartthrob heroes. Erin La Rosa crafted a story that is relevant in this day and age with beautiful representation of all kinds. I love when heroines represent health issues that are not always written about in romances, and in this case, the FMC had a pacemaker and discussed her health issues throughout the story. This story is filled with humorous situations and fun all around, including some family drama that will have you scratching your head and chuckling at the same time. The relationship in this story was sweet as well, but I truly loved getting to know all of the characters.

Thank you to the publisher for my gifted copy.

I am a SUCKER for banter and this book had me kicking my feet and giggling like a school girl. I love romance books that keep you acting like a school girl because they are just that dang cute and this book did that until the last page. I can't get enough of this book, definitely will be re-reading it at some point!

I really really wanted to like this book. I feel like I struggle when book throw in pop culture type things, so when SM is thrown in a lot I just really don’t LOVE the story. So many tik tok references. I think if the SM wasn’t mentioned so many times I really would’ve enjoyed it more. Don’t like my weird opinion about pop culture in books stop you from reading this though bc I really liked the characters & learning their backstories. I really think that it was still a decent read

A beautiful cover for a beautiful book! This sweet romance dealt with some difficult topics with the utmost care, much like its predecessor (For Butter or For Worse). The author has a way of writing the most loveable perfectly imperfect characters falling in love with each other.

I love grumpy sunshine rom coms. This was a fun read. I don't feel like there was anything overly unique about the story because the tropes used are common and incredibly popular right now, but the book definitely meets reader expectation or those who love the tropes.

I think this story fell into tropes but was certainly more inclusive than other books of this genre. Sophie was enjoyable as a character and I loved how they were willing to work on themselves before moving forward with their relationship.

Overall, this book featured an interesting romance and great supporting characters. I didn't mind the inclusion of social media as a plot device as this is a normal part of people's everyday lives but if you're going to use an app to further the story, make sure it actually furthers the story. I really didn't see the point of TikTok in this story. My main issue with this book was the depiction of addiction and recovery. Not only was it unbelievable, it borders on irresponsible. It felt like La Rosa didn't do any research on addiction or hasn't had any experiences with someone who has had addiction issues.

I thought this was a cute book, but I didn’t love it as much as I hoped I would. This is the second book in The Hollywood Series. I felt like there was just too much happening in this book for me to enjoy it. There was so many negative themes to it, I really didn’t like that. Overall, it was ok, but I probably won’t be continuing to read the series, if more come out.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an e-arc of Plot Twist by Erin La Rosa in exchange for an honest review.

Two words. Swoon. Worthy.
Sophie’s character spake to me not only as a fellow writer but as someone who has never been in love.
Im completely obsessed with the chemistry between Dash and Sophie and their “friends-with-benifits” arrangement.
And come on- he crafts?! Could Dash be any more perfect?
This fun and sexy read has me adding all past and future books by Erin La Rosa on my TBR.

I went into this one blind solely based on the cute cover and let me tell you the story was equally as cute. I absolutely loved Sopie and Dash. Such a sweet and sexy story was a best friend's brother and close proximity trope. Perfect read for the month of love.

I wasn't absolutely sure of this one when I first started, but quickly fell in line and enjoyed it very much!

This was a really cute story! The plot was fun because it didn’t feel like your typical “she is an author” storyline.

What attracted me originally was the premise that Sophie was a romance author that had never been in love. Of course, I love that Dash is her landlord — because forced proximity and all that. All of the things I love about a quirky romance story were there, but overall I just felt like there was something missing from the characters. Including Tiktok was a little cringe as well. Also noting that I love the cover and aesthetic choices.
