I didn't know Allison Ashley until now, and let me tell you, I am NOT disappointed! I really loved this book. Read it in a day, couldn't put it down. The banter between Claire and Graham was so cute and I LOVED the emails Graham would send to Claire when she was at work. I also really liked to see Graham's evolution. I will now look into the other books from this author, and can't wait for future books from her as well!

Loved the cover and the title! The story was really cute and I enjoyed the characters and their development.

This book had some of the best banter I have read in a while. The storyline for the characters felt so real and I found myself rooting for them to be together even though they were not sure. I enjoyed the characters and found them to have great chemistry.

I love Allison Ashley’s writing and this book reminded me why. It is heartfelt, humorous, engaging and a quick binge. She uses her knowledge of working in the medical field and brings this background into her work, and what can be better than a heroine who’s a nurse and an outdoorsy firefighter hero. Claire and Graham had not only the most beautiful chemistry but also strong character growth. One of my favorite parts was reading the emails Graham sends to Claire’s unused email address as a form of therapy. I am also a big write to no one person and there was something special about seeing Graham open up in these letters and how much it helped with the healing process.

I love how this story started off with the two characters Claire and Graham having banter back and forth that developed their relationship quicker than the slow burning romance novels. The dialogue and plot kept me engaged through the entire story. It was a hard book to put down and now has me wanting to read more of Allison Ashley’s books.

"The Roommate Pact" is a pitch perfect romantic comedy about roomates who realize they want to be more. Claire, a nurse, and Graham, a firefighter, have a crackling romantic chemistry and make a promise to be together when they turn 40, as long as they're not with anyone else. A climbing accident brings them together much sooner than that and "The Roommate Pact" really excels at selling the pair's attraction to each other. This is a great read to anybody who likes contemporary romance.

Last year, I came across “Would You Rather” before it released. I requested an ARC & didn’t get one. I remember being so excited for it to release…yet I had never read an Allison Ashley book before. Sometimes you are drawn to a book that you just know is going to be good. I had the same feeling about The Love Hypothesis before it was released. Call it “booktuition” (you know, intuition for when a book will be good). Anyways…I read WYR & fell in love with Noah and Mia. I loved the storyline it lifelong friends falling for each other. In this book, we get Graham & Claire…Mia & Noah’s friends…with their own story! Totally could be read as a stand alone, but you’re missing out if you skip WYR.

Graham is a firefighter & Claire is an ER nurse/NP. They’re also roommates because Denver rent is pricey! They make a pact to get married when Graham turns 40 if neither of them are in a relationship. There’s an attraction and chemistry between the two of them, but he’s a commitment-phobe and she’s got zero interest in being with someone who seeks adventure after the way she lost her dad. All of this gets thrown out the window when Graham is in a terrible accident & Claire helps with his recovery. They connect and start a platonic “relationship,” but they soon catch feelings. Initially, neither of them are willing to compromise…they have feelings, but they think they’re not right for each other. Proximity and the situations they find themselves in keep forcing them together & it’s hard for them to deny what they have.

The banter and snark between these two? Next level. Lovvvvved it. The way they go back and forth with each other is so easy and natural. So well written by Allison Ashley. Their relationship is based on mutual trust and respect, so it reads as very mature. Even when they hit a snag, they weren’t immature about it. I loved that they knew what they wanted (which is what resulted in the conflict). Ashley let her characters tell the story here. Nothing felt forced or unnecessary. It all just worked.

Bonus points for the setting being in Colorado! 🏔️

I absolutely love Allison Ashley. I’ve met her at a book signing and she’s the most down to earth, sweet funny person.

I fell in love with her book Would You Rather, and was so happy to read her upcoming release earlier than pub day.

The Roomate Pact was a sweet roommates to lovers book. It’s a clean, funny romance, that I really enjoyed.

This was such a cute story. This idea has been done in movies before, but it is rare that I've seen it in a book. Claire and Graham are roommates and decide that if they are both single when they are forty, they will get together in a friends with benefits type situation. When Graham gets injured and needs Claire to help nurse him back to health, their friends with benefits plan begins a little sooner. I loved these characters and really enjoyed this story.

The Roommate Pact is an adorable follow up to Allison Ashley's "Would You Rather." Firefighter Graham is the third roommate who replaced Claire's best friend. Fun banter and supportive characters who do not create awkward situations make this a fun, quick read.

These roommates have suffered trauma and their past makes them find a commitment to be difficult. They make a pact that if they haven't found someone to love by the time they turn 40, they will become friends with benefits.  Their journey progresses as their past unfolds. Claire and Graham are roommates. They make a pact that if they are both single when Graham turns 40 they will get together. However, things happen a little sooner than planned. Graham ends up injured and Claire, a nurse, helps him while he is essentially on bedrest. Graham, at Claire's suggestion, starts journaling during this time and his introspection brings some things to light that neither of them expected or planned for. They both have issues from their past that throw a wrench into the situation and I have to admit this one had me worried in those last few chapters.
Overall this was a fun and emotional read. The banter between Claire and Graham and their understanding of each other was perfect. I highly recommend this book.

This book was super cute. I'll admit, I didn't read Would You Rather (although I definitely will be now), but it isn't necessary to read it in order to understand this story.

I loved the different tropes -- friends to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, sort of fake dating. This book had some of the best banter I've read in a long time. For a book that isn't explicit, it has great sexual tension between the two characters and a few fade to black scenes. I really liked how both characters had past experiences to overcome before they could be together. We see Mia and Noah from the first book and I think they help Graham and Claire see what they need to see within each other and themselves. The storyline felt genuine. It was heartwarming and cute and you definitely rooted for them to be together despite their reservations.

Overall, I enjoyed the premise. It was still a unique storyline. The characters had depth and it was a quick read.

I thought the characters were believable, as were their respective challenges. Claire has a fear of falling for someone with a dangerous job due to the way in which her father died. Graham has closed himself off entirely because of a past love. Their is significant build up to each of their pasts but written well enough that it keeps your interest. The author does a great job of slowly allowing you to get to know the characters.

Many times in this type of trope, it gets repetitive with respect to the character trying to decipher the others' feelings. However, I felt that this book did a good job of creating that suspense without getting annoying.

I really enjoyed this light read. It is funny, spicy and sweet.

I am obsessed with this book! Allison Ashley writes the absolute swooniest kisses and I just can't get enough of her books. I read this one a couple of weeks ago and I still think about it constantly. The tension, the pining, the forced proximity it's all perfect. This is the kind of book that makes you laugh one minute and then makes your heart just squeeze in the next. Allison is an auto-buy author for me!

This story was a bit slow for me however I did love the FMC. I also think I struggled a bit with the formatting of the ebook which took me out of the story at times.

I loved how cute this book was! The plot was fresh and new and I love that. It was easy to fall in love with Graham and Claire and see them happy in the end. I couldn't put this one down and read it in 1 day!

A dating/marriage pact gone suddenly intense between two roommates.

I think the trouble with a causal hook up situation where the characters catch feelings is that the scenes were fade to black. I love and appreciate romance books like this BUT it made the build up of tension a little flat.

However the romance and tenderness were there to save the day.

Allison Ashley is an amazing author! This is the second book by her that I’ve read and I loved it!! She has a knack for the dialogue in her books that makes the book seem very “real life”, if that makes sense. The Roommate Pact was a clever, fun, and page turner of a book. Filled with humor, love, and a spectacular cast of characters, this book was a total delight. I highly recommend this one to others.
