It was the sweetest novel I read in a long time! I was expecting lots of sexy moments but this book was so much more. It’s a slow burn but worth waiting. Merry is older sister who truly takes responsibility to make her younger sister happy despite their past. What she discovers during her journey is that she also has some scars that need healing. Her infatuation with her bff leads to nothing and after an accidental night in a hotel room with Noah, her bff’s best man, she decides to leave all her problems behind and move to old castle in France. (Un)fortunately, Noah also goes to the castle since he’s doing some sort of research for his next documentary. They both learn to cooperate in order to survive difficult conditions in ruined castle. Noah and Merry learn about each others past and they both realize that they cannot control what happened to them before, but they can make they future be just as they want it to be. All they need is accept their imperfections.

This is my first time reading a Sarah Ready novel and let me say that it was an absolute treat! I stayed up way past my bedtime because I couldn’t put it down and found myself cackling out loud while reading.

The story follows Merry, whom just watched the love of her get married, and escapes to France to be the “main character” in her life story. Merry is lovable and absolutely relatable. Her character development through the book is one of the best parts along with her budding friendship with Noah Wright.

I appreciated the subplots and it was a good balance of plot and character development. I loved this book from beginning to end, and now I have to read every Sarah Ready novel that exists!!

French Holiday was my second Sarah Ready book, and I have enjoyed both of them. This one has a great sense of place, a likable heroine who is trying to find herself, and a dreamy stoic hero. There were a few things in this book that slowed the pacing down for me, but other than that it was a hit for me.

Merry is floundering. After pining for her best friend Leo for years, he decides to marry her sister the day he meets her. Along with personal issues, her job isn't going great and she needs to make a change. Enter her godmother, Jupiter, who offers to let her stay in her French chateau for a few months. The only issue is that Leo's other best friend and Merry's nemesis, Noah is already there. He's researching a book/travel documentary that he's writing/producing. Can they share the chateau and not kill each other? Can they even become friends and possibly more than that?

I really liked Merry and her woes of unrequited love. I liked her backstory about her inability to see her self worth and I was so happy she grew a lot in this book. I liked Noah quite a bit too. He was romance boyfriend material. He pushed Merry in good ways. His backstory was less compelling for me and was the root of the previously mentioned pacing issue. I think the third act of the book got lost in the "mystery" aspect of the story.

Despite that, I do highly recommend this book. The French atmosphere oozes off the page and has me looking up plane tickets. I was happy this book didn't veer into the miscommunication trope at the end and I was completely satisfied with the ending. I will continue to pick up more books by Sarah Ready!

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the advanced e-book in exchange for my honest review!

I was drawn to this story by the fun cover and I'm so glad I read it! This was such a great enemies to lovers story. I adored the one bedroom trope which a fun twist. It was such refreshing and lovely and I can't wait to read more by this author!

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy of this for me to read and review honestly.

This book was a fun one- I found myself laughing out loud at bits of it. And now I want to go to France more than I have in a long time.

The characters were great, although I honestly wanted to throttle Leo and Angela.

My Thoughts::

This story was such a cute rom com and it gave me Emily in Paris vibes. Merry makes the most out of her time in France and even allows herself to find love. I really enjoyed the storytelling in this book, it was funny and the characters were very relatable. I loved the dynamic between Merry and her sister Angela, they had a special sisterly bond that reminded me of my sister. Without spoiling anything, I really loved the ending of the story, I’m a sucker for a good romance and this one delivered !

What drew me in was the cover, love it! And oh boy it didn't disappoint.

I like the part where the romance was mixed with mystery. I couldn't stop reading that part, I was very curious about how the mystery would resolve and I really wanted to hug Noah for that. One thing that didn't sit right with me was when Noah had to translate his conversation to Merry, he should have had his moment first, because of that I didn't get this intimate moment in that part when reading it.

I would definitely recommend to everyone to read this book. The book makes me want to go visit France and this book will not be the last book I read from the author. I'll make sure to read the author's previous books and the upcoming ones. Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing LLC for the eARC in exchange for an honest review

I liked this book because it had so many of my favorite tropes in it...enemies to lovers, close proximity and one bed. I felt this book succeeded when it stuck to the romance. About halfway through a subplot is added that took away from the romance and chemistry of Merry and Noah.

3.25/5 stars! Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, so I was really excited to read this book. It wasn't a bad book. It was an average contemporary romance. I enjoyed Noah a lot but struggled with Merry. She really doesn't seem to know herself yet. I think this should have gone a more "Eat, Pray, Love" way and let Merry become happy single and living her best life. Instead, she jumped from one long-love to Noah. It was cute and I enjoyed it. Just wasn't the best FMC.

I'll admit I was slightly sceptical of this book after loving the Josh and Gemma series, but THIS IS NO LESS.

Sarah Ready is a brilliant writer with some great style. She'll make you laugh till you cry and your heart flutters at some of these amazing dialogues.

Merry DeLuca is secretly in love with her best friend. Who just married her sister- To get over life, she flies over to France to live in a château, only to find that she must cohabitate with the dreaded Noah Wright. In the only bedroom on the only bed.

Yup, this is enemies to friends to lover, at the perfect pace with a decent ranking for believability. Ready has another surprising subplot thrown in there which I won't spoil, but it's unexpectedly deep and emotional.

A special shout-out to Louis the Lobster, obviously my favourite character in the book. The twenty sixth and fiftieth chapters are proof that Sarah Ready is one of the best writers. I couldn't stop laughing at Louis, his great personality and his antics. (Is he Louis or did it turn out to be Louise?) But jokes apart, I think this one lobster has more character than MCs from other books.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Sarah Ready for making this ARC available to me in exchange for my honest opinion.

I thought this romcom was a cute and quick read, but in my opinion it was just a bit basic. It was by no means a bad book, I just wish there was a little....more. I don't want to leave a negative review because I love indie authors and I know how much reviews affect how well they do, but I'll just say this one wasn't for me. Merry was a bit too immature and needs to work on herself more before throwing around the word "love" to any guy that gives her attention and she needs to experience the world a bit more before deciding what it really means to "hate" someone. Also, she got her butt handed to her by a lobster...a LOBSTER lmao. The subplot also sort of got to a point where it almost overshadowed the main storyline which I didn't like. I wasn't sure where I as supposed to be focusing so around the 3/4 mark, I got a bit bored...I did like the character development of Noah, Camille, and even Pierre and there was a especially some satisfaction in watching the character regression of Angela lol.

Merry watches as her sister Angela walks down the aisle to marry the person she’s in love with, but hasn’t told. The person she’s walking down the aisle with Noah isn’t her favorite person. As Merry’s life is turned upside down, she decides to escape to her godmothers castle in France. As she stands there admiring the house she realizes there’s another house guest Noah.

I loved the storytelling and a bit of mystery that was thrown in the story! I wanted to find out what was going to happen next and was there going to be a happily ever after.

This book was the perfect romantic getaway! I need to reread it in the summertime to really feel the vibes. It'd the perfect balance of romance and fun without being farfetched or overly comedic or overly trope-y. The characters are realistic, flawed, relatable, and most importantly they grow! They grow throughout this book and not in a forced for the plot kind of way.

The MCs growing closer together felt so organic and their chemistry was palpable, plus the mystery thrown in really did sneak up on me in an attention grabbing way. Basically this book is a 2 for 1 of HEAs. The only thing that would've made it 5 stars for me is if Angela and Leo got divorced. Hated them till the very end!

Definitely pick this up if you're in a slump or if you just need a mind-numbing, low stakes read to get you all lovey, cozy, and romantic.

Merry's sister just married her best friend and now she thinks that she loved him. She is upset, but decides to quit her job and go to the castle that her god-mother owns in the French countryside. When she gets there, Noah, the best man from the wedding is there staying in the castle as well and they hate each other. They decide to take separate rooms and stay out of each others way.

I thought this was such a cute enemies to lovers story. I do think that it drug on quite a bit and could have been shorter. I liked the aspect of Noah searching for his parents and how Merry was able to help be a support for him.

I don’t usually read romance books but this one was so so so good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

French Holiday could possibly be my number one February read so far.

Merry finds out the man she’s in love with is getting married to her younger sister, so she does what any other woman having a life crisis does: she goes to France to live in her Godmother’s chateau. Of course, when she arrives she realizes the chateau has also been promised to Noah, the best friend of the man she’s in love with (who she also happens to hate). Through the process of some close proximity tropes and ONE BED, romance ensues.

This book surprised me, it was sweet, funny, and had a little mystery thrown in. The characters are so lovable but complex in their own ways. Themes of different kinds of love are talked about throughout. Easily a 5 star read!

I received this ARC from NetGalley, but my review contains only my honest opinion, book releases on April 26th of this year 💗

This was a fun and funny story. It would be a great summertime, beach read, or even better, a french holiday read! I enjoyed the easy banter and chemistry between the main characters the most while reading this book.

This is my first book by this author and I feel like I've been missing out.

Merry goes to France to stay in a crumbling chateau after her sister married her best friend and the man she was secretly in love with. When she arrives at the castle she realizes that the best man from her sister's wedding, Noah, is also staying there. They decide to have a truce and live together as friends. Merry begins to unravel the meaning of her life and who and what she truly loves.

This is a forced proximity, holiday romance with a touch of fairytale-like scenarios. I wasn't expecting this to be a 5 star read after reading the synopsis so I am pleasantly surprised. This book as it all: romance, travel, humor, and mystery. It delves beyond superficial banter into how childhood experiences and trauma can affect the way we love and how we grow into the person we become. The author somehow manages to do that while still keeping it a light and fun read. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the author's other books!

I honestly struggled with rating this one. There were some definite five star moments for me = it has been a long time since I laughed as hard as I did while reading about that lobster and the serious nuggets of truth around unrequited love and a parents impact on a child's self worth were really well done. This is my first Sarah Ready book, but it's definitely not my last - I found myself looking up her backlist to see what other books I could get my hands on!

However, for some reason there were parts of this book that just dragged for me. it felt a bit longer than it needed to be - with extra plot lines and parts to the story that didn't feel coherent at times.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for an advance copy of this bookfor me to read and review.

This is my first Sarah Ready book. It was very entertaining. I enjoyed the character development and romance immensely. It had some issues about three quarters of the way through with plot, but then it came back around.
