this book is so different but a good one to read it show two young girls how the senior party of their coach trip have lived in different ways of life and what adventures the two girls have too come in theirs it starts off rocky to begin with and finishes off all becoming good friends

Emma commits to celebrating her best friend Mel's birthday in a special way but accidentally overbooks herself, having also promised to accompany her grandmother on a coach trip. This trip was initially an anniversary gift for her grandfather, who tragically passed away before they could go. Despite initial reservations, both young women join the trip with biases about the elderly. As the week unfolds, their misconceptions are beautifully dispelled. Many find it difficult to empathize with the challenges the elderly face, such as the slow-paced woman or the man delaying the supermarket queue.

This tale beautifully bridges the gap between generations, challenging stereotypes about age. It's a touching story of laughter, love, and learning, providing readers with a memorable and heartwarming experience.

As the title suggests this is coach trip.

Unfortunately all the characters were very difficult to like and very stereotyped.

Saying that although the story is predictable and ageist, if you want an easy, light, fun read this could be for you.

Loved it! Lovely story bringing together different age groups and showing how each can help each other. I loved the way the older group showed they could party just like the youngsters! Never too old to enjoy yourself! It was also good to see the youngsters joining in with activities and especially the relationship between grandmother and granddaughter.

Ah I loved this, a nice easy beach read that I really enjoyed…kept my interest and I loved the characters and story. Thank you

This story started as such a Trainwreck I couldn't look away from and became the sweetest story that has surprisingly stuck with me. I loved how the characters adjusted and some of the surprises thrown in and the simple life elements made the ending just perfect.

This was a really good light read book. There were parts where I found myself laughing out loud.
This book sees two young girls going off on a coach holiday with a group of pensioners. Doesn't sound like the most fun filled story but I did find myself not wanting to put the book down. You will fall in love with the characters and hate others.
It's funny and sad but an enjoyable book.

I really enjoyed The Coach Trip.
The story centres on two best friends who end up on a coach trip full of pensioners and unlikely friendships are formed and plenty of laughs and drama unfolds along the journey.

Emma wants to give her best friend, Mel, a birthday to remember, but accidentally double books herself.
She’s already promises to go with her grandmother on a coach trip, originally booked as an anniversary present for her husband who sadly passed away before the trip and the dates clash!
Emma has a dilemma she doesn’t want to let her grandmother or her best friend down so invites Mel to join them on the coach trip promising her it’ll be fun!
I think we are all probably guilty of having preconceived misconceptions about older people and it is a pleasure to see how these smashed as the week-long trip progresses.
It’s hard for the younger generation to sympathise or really understand the older generation and what it’s really like as you get older – your eyesight, mental and physical health all deteriorate – what the mind wants and what the body can actually achieve are sometimes very different!
This is a book that makes you rethink your ideas, and it definitely reinforced my respect for the older generation.
I really loved the developing friendships throughout the trip and we see lots of drama and some tender moments as well as some really funny ones too.

Best friends Emma and Mel are off on a completely different holiday to what they are used to. Emma’s granddad has just died. Her nan was going to on a coach trip to Scotland and wanted to scatter his ashes in Edinburgh. Lovely Emma decides that she will go with her. Mel said that it would be an adventure and Emma got her on the trip too, after telling Mel that there would be some nice guys going. The other reason was because forgetful Emma wanted to give her a terrific birthday

Scathing Mel gets a shock, they are the youngest by many years. Never one to think before she speaks, Mel soon let’s off steam. Had these seventy year old forgotten how to enjoy life?

Although there are sad undertones in the book, this is an extremely funny book. Mel’s character was feisty and loveable. Emma was forgetful but kind and caring.

The book shows that young and old are easily able to mix and enjoy themselves. Family and friendship runs right through the book.

This is a real feel good light hearted read, perfect for holidays. It's a well crafted story with lots of great characters all with an interesting back story. It's a fun read, heart warming and with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. It is centred around a group of pensioners who embark on a coach holiday together. They are joined by two twenty somethings, one of whom has her Nana on board who plans to scatter her late husbands ashes at one of the scenic stops on the trip. It evokes memories for some of the passengers and provides a new experience for others, while at the same time forging new friendships between the passengers that will endure for some time.

I enjoyed this book, but did at some points think about putting it down. I found that there was a bit of a descrepancy in the voice of the main character and her friend and her age. She either sounded a bit too young and a little boring/old for 30 something. It just didn't sound quite believable to me. There were also quite a lot of cliches of how young(ish) people perceive older people and vice versa.
Overall it was quite a nice story but not one I was completely enthralled with.

What a beautiful storyline, full of very lovable characters. I smiled reading this book but also cried which is hard for and author to do to a reader. I don’t usually read books twice but I will certainly be reading this again.

Emma ruins her friends Valentines Day and in order to make up for her mishap, she promises to make it up to her by taking her to Edinburgh for her birthday, only also to promise her grandmother that she will go with her on a coach trip to Edinburgh on the same weekend as Mel's birthday. Thus they combine the two trips and end up on a bus with people that are double their age.

I knew when I read the first page of this book that I was going to enjoy it. It was light, ,entertaining , funny , realistic and a bit sad at times. The coach trip on its way from Leeds to Edinburgh with Mel and Emma in their late twenties and the rest of the group maybe in their seventies , gave a good, humorous insight into how the old and the young view each other and make certain assumptions and how both groups can learn from each other. A heartwarming read.

I highly recommend this book to warm everyones heart.

This was a difficult read simply because the two main characters were so unlikeable. At times I felt I was reading about two nine year olds rather than 29. The lessons they learned about the older people was told really well so they probably had to be unlikeable and derogatory towards the other characters for it to be possible for them to change their preconceived attitudes.

Emma, darling, you are a mess... and I love you for it. This was a nice, easy read that didn't ask too much of me but did make me think, how dare it! The characterisation of both Emma and Mel felt pretty natural, Mel was a little mean at times about the older people they were travelling with but she softened towards the end - as did the older travellers opinions of her. I loved the way all the characters grew together, transforming each other along the way.
