She does it again. Borison manages to write the most romantic stories while still remaining so realistic. The male MC was such a dream come true and the female MC was so relatable and lovable. I totally believed their chemistry and I truly believe they would have lasted forever. Loved it a lot and will be recommending to everyone!

Beckett’s book! A very charming follow-up to Luca and Stella’s love story in “Lovelight Farms.” Each of the books in this series take on new tropes and explore complex characters on both sides of the relationship. I really enjoy getting to know more of this town! The world building in incredible and makes the book feel cozy and welcoming. Second chance romance isn’t always my favorite, but Beckett and Evelyn are perfect. I enjoyed reading this one, and can’t wait to sink into the town further with Layla’s book.

I loved this when I originally read the indie, so it was such a treat to be able to revisit this world and characters again. The trad pub version is polished up very nicely, while still remaining true to the original.

Ahhh, BK Borison and the Lovelight series bring me so much joy. I loved the little bits of Beckett and Evelyn we got in Lovelight Farms and then getting even more of their perspective from those times to the present. A big theme is about finding your happy and I especially loved how that thread went through the entire story and that your happy can be in the big life choices (your career) and in the tiny little bits (having "your cup", looking at a beautiful flower). It gave me such warm fuzzies.

One thing I have noticed in my reading this month is that I am 4/4 of Berkley Romances, all releasing spring/summer 2023, around dissatisfaction in your career (like, actually, at this point it can't be a coincidence, right?) What stuck out to me in In The Weeds was that while both Evelyn and Beckett accidentally fell into these career paths they didn't plan we got to see two very different outcomes through their self-reflection. Evenlyn realizing she wanted a change and Beckett finding his peace and joy on the farm. All of my other four (!!) books ended with this big revelation and life change (good for them!) but Beckett's path was a little warm glow to balance it all out.

Can't wait for more of this series!

I absolutely love this series. In In the Weeds we are reunited with Evelyn and Beckett, characters we first meet at Lovelight Farms. We finally get to discover what happened between them (was hinted at in the the first book but now we get all the details!) and we are witnessing the rekindling of their relationship. And seriously, who can say no to Beckett??? I didn't know I needed a strong and silent gardener (with tats) in my life until I met B.

Perfect romance, highly recommend! You will absolutely love all the couples in the Lovelight series.

Thank you, Berkley, for the free book!

I loved this one even more than the first! A steamy encounter between Beckett and Evie turns into love and I was here for it. The steam was coming off the pages with these two, and I loved how it was a physical attraction first followed by finding their true selves and happiness within each other. I love the small town farm vibes and the supporting cast of friends, from the first book Lovelight Farms. What a cute fun romance! 4.5⭐️

Over the last year or so, I have seen so many rave reviews about BK Borison and her Lovelight/ Inglewood series. I did read LOVELIGHT FARMS over the holidays and while I thought it was cute, I admittedly didn't love the story... but was still excited for the next!

I still adored the whole small town setting of Inglewood. It seems like such a wonderful and cozy place and I loved how tight knit everybody was in that typical small town way. I mean the gossip and phone tree is just so great! Plus it was awesome seeing more Stella and Luka and the rest of the cast.

I also enjoyed how it didn’t shy away from making Beckett— who on first impression is this hulking, tatted, farmer— but is really a bit vulnerable with his social anxiety and sensory issues. Plus I liked his backstory particularly when it come to his family. As for Evie, I did enjoy her self reflection arc on stepping away from her social media livelihood to instead figure out what truly makes her happy. Sure, it came off as a bit cliche at times, but overall was nice.

What didn't quite work for me was the romance story between Beckett and Evie itself. It started off with a weekend fling as strangers, but that weekend led to months of pining which I had a bit of hard time with. And noting against it, but this trope has always been hit or miss for me. As the story progressed and they got reacquainted I think I just struggled to really find and understand their chemistry. Also don’t get me started on the miscommunication and how so many things could’ve been avoided, ESPECIALLY that third act break up, if they had talked.

Also, while the author definitely knows how to create wonderful characters and dreamy settings, there were parts of the writing that felt repetitive. (This is so nitpicky, but I noticed in the first book how often all the characters hummed and that definitely carried over because I found myself counting how frequently the verb was used.)

I’m still very much invested into this series and town and will eventually read Layla and Caleb’s story!

Lovelight Farms was one of my favorite reads of 2022, and I was excited to return to the charming, small town for the next installment of the series. Beckett was a scene stealer in the first book and I was happy to see this big, tough farmer guy and his hoard of kittens as a lead. Beckett and Evie's romance was adorable and heartwarming, and these books truly just feel like a hug.

There's something I don't like going on with the way these self-pubbed, internet popular, to trad-pubbed small town romances are treating cops. This one has a queer cop and it gives the energy of "it's okay because he's GAY" in a way that acts like it's disavowing copaganda but....isn't. Also, these books need to be edited--isn't that the whole point of trad pub? The resources? Anyway, this book was really good at parts and incredibly draggy in others, but the third act hinging on someone not answering their phone (IN 2023! SURE SURE SURE) is insanely stupid. Idk, I'll probably read the rest of the series, but I mainly felt that this book should be doing better in various places.

The second of B.K. Borison's "Lovelight" series,In the Weeds finally gives us the full story of what happened between Evelyn and Beckett during that weekend in Maine. After reading Lovelight, I was dying to know the real story behind Beckett Porter. The strong, silent, tattooed gardener checked all the boxes when it came to perfect book boyfriend and returning to Inglewild was just the icing on the cake (probably one of Layla's to be honest). When we return to Lovelight farms a few month's after the ending of the first book, we find Beckett Porter still thinking about social media darling Evelyn st. James. funnily enough, she's still thinking about him too. In the Weeds gives us a story about 2 people struggling to "find their happy". Evelyn must learn that dreams can change and Beckett must discover that you don't have to be the only one giving something to a relationship.

I really do enjoy the world that Borison has built and I look forward to reading the next in the series with Layla's story.

In the Weeds is absolutely my favorite of the three Lovelight books! Beckett is one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. The hookup to friends to lovers is so sweet. Also all of Beckett’s pets. Great series but this one is top tier for me.

If we’ve talked books for longer than five minutes you know about my obsession with Lovelight Farms. You know I have this deep connection to the book and I have probably already tried convincing you to read it. When I heard In the Weeds was happening (shortly after finishing LF) I was excited. I’d fallen for Beckett immediately and couldn’t wait to get his story.

I was, however, also anxious. I was so afraid that I would come back to this little world and that the first visit was SO incredible that this second one just wouldn’t live up.

I was wrong. It was like being welcomed home. Within the first 5 pages I felt the magic of Becca’s words start swirling around me and transporting me back to my favorite place.

Another confession? During LF I really thought that it would be Beckett and Layla. When I found out it would be Beckett and Evelyn, I wasn’t sure how on board I would be.

Reading In the Weeds made it impossible not to fall in love with Evie. She and Beckett together? I die. It was both so sweet and SO hot🔥.

Becca weaves magic with her words. I can’t say that enough. There was no part of this book that didn’t seep into my heart.

“It’s about the trying. Settling into the happy when you find it, being okay when you don’t.“

I found my happy in this book. I hope you will too.

“Did you find your happy today?”

The way I love this book! I read Lovelight Farms and really enjoyed that one and then this second book in the series was just so so good! These are standalone and can be read on their own, but of course you’ll get more out of the side characters and the farm and town if you’ve read them in order. This is a one night stand leads to a second chance later when the social media influencer heroine shows up in the farmer hero’s small town.

In Lovelight Farms we saw Evelyn show up at the Christmas tree farm as part of a social media contest and her being absolutely shocked to come face-to-face with head farmer Beckett. In this book we get to see when they first met and shared a one night stand/passionate weekend together and then she fled. And then of course them both being surprised when they meet again at the farm. After leaving the farm, Evelyn is just feeling burnt out from her social media work. She really wants to take a break and just doesn’t feel happy with the direction she’s going in anymore. She decides to take a break and head back to the last place she felt happy, and that’s the farm. When she shows back up she finds out the inn she planned to stay in is booked and Beckett is there at the right time and offers her to stay at his place.

I loved Beckett so much! He can come off slightly gruff but he’s such a selfless hero who shows others he cares through his actions. He took over his dad’s farm job when he was just a teen and his dad was involved in an accident, he takes care of his sisters, takes in kittens, and now has a baby duck too. He and Evelyn kind of tip toe around one another at first, he doesn’t think she’d ever want to stay and will just turn around and leave like she did after their one night stand. I think Evelyn’s thoughts and feelings were so real and I got her frustrations, thoughts, and ponderings about her social media life. I liked seeing her fall into the small town life so easily, helping townspeople and businesses with their social media accounts. The whole small town setting is so fun: all the side characters, the whole community feel, the phone tree, and the town meetings! His tattoos, and the farming, the flowers, the greenhouse, how he tells her about the stars, and brings her flowers and leaves notes. So much swoon. I had the best time reading this book, definitely a new favorite and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

In the Weeds by B. K. Borison is the delightful second book in the Lovelight series. It’s a second chance romance where the sizzling weekend fling lands in one’s hometown. It has forced proximity with meddling townspeople as the social media influencer must find a place to stay. In the Weeds is a captivating adventure of searching for happy, steamy second chances & maybe even finding a shot at happily ever after.

The tension between these two leads is delectable. I felt like it was practically jumping off the page. I was drawn in by both of the characters individually & then, once you experience their magnetic connection, they are a force you want to root for.

It was fascinating seeing a different side to both of the main characters that we met in the first book, but especially Beckett. He’s such a good hero with an endearingly sexy demeanor. The seemingly shy, grumpy farmer mixed with botanical smarts, wicked work ethic, muscle & tattoos is a stellar combination. Then, there’s Evie, who is a no-nonsense mega influencer that’s endlessly kind & caring but also incredibly burnout & in desperate need of happiness. The story that unfolds is any small town romances lovers’ dream.

I adore the quaint town, the townsfolk & the hilariously nosey, but caring vibe that entails. I want to dive straight into this story & become part of the Hallmark-esque meets spicy stories it brings. I cannot wait to keep reading this series.

Massive thanks to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing for the free arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

I will post this on social media & Amazon around release date & add links once I do.

Hello my name is Natalie and I have an obsession with B.K. Borison.

Her writing is the type that sucks you in from the first pages, gets lost within the chapters, and makes you not realize you have spent the whole day reading. I’m amazed how good her writing got with her sophomore book. There’s a certain flow to the story that makes the read feel a part of it rather than an outsider reading. You feel Beckett and Evie surrounding your mind and heart intertwining their emotions with your own.

Beckett had my heart. Behind the grump attitude and the impenetrable wall he built around his heart, lies the softest and warm man I have ever read. With every animal he inadvertently adopts, I fell more in love with him. There’s so many layers to his character and the author took her time developing each one. Each narrator brought to life both characters with their tone and cadence. They both felt like Beckert and Evie and carried themselves in a way that I envisioned each person would sound. They both brought emotion and feelings that a reader would otherwise miss while reading alone.

I went to live in this book, on this farm, in this town, a part of the phone tree. The author created a world that is charming and quaint with characters that dig their roots deep into your soul. It’s the book that you want to savor every morsel, but end up devouring because you never want to leave the pages. Evie and Beckett are perfection The kind of book couple that you ship and aspire to be with the once in a lifetime kind of love. This book was a dream, one that I was to live in forever.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC

I loved the first book and when I found out there was a past one weekend romance between Evelyn and Beckett I knew I needed to read this! It was wonderful!

What fun books!! Social media influencer and social averse farmer! A lot of fire works, emotion and spice along with character introspection which leads to growth. It is like a book box with a lot of tiny knickknacks. This one tho is more rom than com.

If insta-attraction, steamy, opposites attract in a small town with a gorgeous, soft-spoken, inked, cat daddy, cinnamon roll of a farmer sounds good. Then read this!

This book! I stayed up so late trying to finish it because I needed to know what happened next. I loved Evelyn - a confident, successful WOC who became an influencer to help raise up small businesses. Beck with his four kittens and Otis the duckling made me smile when my heart wasn’t breaking in sympathy for him. Loved the neurodivergent rep!

While this is a book that’s easy to devour, take my advice and SAVOR it!

Extroverted social media sensation plus introverted hot farmer = true love, obviously.

Also, there are KITTENS and they love him and he loves them? Because he is perfect in every way, as are all of the men in the general vicinity of Lovelight Farms.

These books make me so wildly happy I feel like the only way to subdue myself is to shove my entire fist in my mouth and scream. Everyone is so genuine and earnest and just trying their best to be their best for the people around them. They’re so cute. I can’t stand it I’m going to implode. This is a Lovelight Farms & co fan account now, always and forever.

Evie and Beckett have met twice. The first time was a whirlwind. The second time was bewildering. And though Beckett has accepted that she has returned to her chaotic globetrotting life and he’ll never see her again, Evie is not so sure. Because she has loved her career and the opportunities it has provided her… but it’s been awhile since she’s been truly happy. And she remembers exactly when (and where) it last was.

So though he’s apprehensive, and she’s uncertain, the two strike up a truce: Evie will stay at the farm and try to find her happy, and Beckett will do his best to help her (while trying valiantly to protect his heart). But the seemingly unlikely duo has a lot more in common than just chemistry, and as Evie’s time at the farm stretches onward, it grows more and more apparent that the two are exactly what each other need.
