A light bubbly read. Three generations of woman moving to the South of France where the grandmother came from. You had history of old and new love. A daughter forgiving her mother for abandoning her. A lovely art gallery and no money shortage and a nice neat tidy ending. Loved it

Three generations of women reunited, secrets that threaten to tear them apart once again and a bond that can never really be broken. Once gathered at the Villa Espoir in Southern France, these women may well realise that as painful as the past is it simply cannot be ignored. Deftly drawn and credible characters populate an emotional narrative threaded with humour and warmth in a delicious family drama with a nigh on perfect setting.

This is my first book by Jennifer Bohnet. The stunning cover and title drew me to this book, instantly calling to me to read it.

Set in the South of France with Cannes and Monaco on its doorstep, we are introduced to three generations of women: Gabrielle, her daughter, Harriet and granddaughter Elodie.

Returning to live in France, her place of birth, had never been in her life goals until one New Year that changed everything. Against the stunning French countryside and a stunning villa, the woman all begin to find themselves having to face their pasts. For Gabriella that means returning to her childhood home and maybe finding love again with Phillippe.

For Elodie, though, it's different. Moving to France means she can finally begin the career she's always wanted: to be a serious journalist. However she's a woman who has a complicated history. Abandoned by her mother, when she disappeared off to Australia after marrying, what can only be described as a nasty piece of work late husband, Elodie wants to know who her father is. But for Harriet that means opening Pandora's box, something she's unwilling to do.

And who can blame her? When we eventually meet Jack - I originally don't like him and still don't. I just found him pushy, impatience and doesn't really listen to the people around him especially when it comes to his long lost daughter. One he never knew about.

This book is well written with little surprises along the way. It won't be the last one of her books I read either.
