I love this book and can't wait to read more of Dent. She's the smoothest writer and draws you in with every story. I love how past and present collide.

This was a fun read, and Lizzy Dent always creates really vibrant characters that leap off the page, but my goodness the cringe factor in this was too much to bear at times! It is a simple story, does exactly what it says on the tin - but I couldn't get over the cringe!

I really enjoyed aspects of the main characters, Workplace romances are really hit or miss from me - and getting your own back on an ex is always really petty, but Dent did those aspects really well!

If you are someone who enjoys a cringe when you are reading - either with or at the characters - this one is for you.

Since I swooned over “The Summer Job”, Dent has become an author on my radar.

There’s romance in this one but there’s also the past coming back to you (quite literally), family relationships and inner workings of working in TV.

This was a slower paced romance than I thought but it was pretty sweet in the end.

A fun book about a scorned women with a second chance of love and a side of revenge. The banter was light hearted and laugh out loud funny. Amy heads to London for a fresh start to escape an embarrassing past where she finds a new job and a hot new love interest. Things are looking up until a former lover shows up and becomes her boss. I loved that the book is set working for a television network. It is a fun quick summer rom com. Thank you net galley for the ARC!

This was an utterly riveting book that I literally could not put down, that kept my heart racing, kept me near tears for a good chunk of it, that had me hanging off of every word that I read, and the story just ripped my heart out but yet still had a very sweet ending.

This one was fun quick rom com. I especially laughed out loud in the beginning as our main character Amy seeks revenge on her newly ex BF but this goes completely south and she somehow gets filmed while going viral. She high tails it from NYC to London to start over and not be remembered by viral video. While a lot of parts were fun, I didn’t believe in the very slow burn romance between Amy and Jake. The chemistry just felt off . I just didn’t enjoy it as much as other rom coms because the characters were not as relatable to me. But overall an entertaining read! Thank you Netgalley G.P. This book was a cute romance! I did love the characters for the most part. I do wish they would of had talked more about the relationship over all throughout the whole story. But overall it was a quick cute romance to read.

All of the fates align to give Amy a second chance to get back at her boss, a hot neighbor who has also fallen from grace, and a new project to keep her busy and revive her career.

Amy and her hot neighbor Jake have tons of chemistry and banter, and they slowly burn through the whole book. I found myself truly rooting for them to make it happen.

The romance in this one is subtle, more of an underlying, secondary movement to the main themes and plot of the novel. I could definitely see this one as a feature film.

This book was written for you if:
1. You love the jobs of 90s romcom heroines that no one in real life has
2. You love a kind of workplace situational romantic comedy
3. You were a fan of Bridesmaids or Emily in Paris

This was a sweet, fun read. I appreciated Amy and Jake's relationship having an element of friends-to-lovers but I wish we had seen more of their relationship.

This was a good adult romance, that I would recommend to those who think sounds interesting!

The synopsis sounded so interesting and I enjoyed the book for the most part. I loved the premise but I had a hard time connecting with the characters as well as the chemistry between the MC's.

The Sweetest Revenge by Lizzy Dent was a fun British rom com. This book started in New York but quickly moved to London/Wales. The settings were interesting in themselves. The rom com was solid if somewhat predictable. Please note there was a lot of bad language in this book. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. This book was both funny and heartfelt. I loved Amy and her drama. She felt very realistic even if some of her situations were far fetched.

I really enjoyed this one. It was light, funny, and a quick read with a dash of spice. I read this in one sitting and found it super enjoyable. What more could you want?

There were times I wanted to absolutely strangle the main character, but I still found myself rooting for her all the same. I really enjoyed her character development, I felt like she had grown significantly, especially in her treatment towards her love interest.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

My Opinion

Lizzy Dent is one of those authors that I enjoy reading. This book was one of those that I knew I wanted to read but I have been struggling to find the time. Within chapters I was hooked, this was such a pleasure to read. Amy is trying to recover following a break up but I didn't really like the way that she treated Jake. I enjoyed this book but I really would've liked a bit more Jake and Amy.

This one is hilarious - I found myself cackling out loud at the antics of the main character! If you've ever had an ex really throw an axe into your back, check this one out. I loved it!

Amy Duffy is a tv producer in NYC. She and her boyfriend/boss Chris are about to jump on a train. They are heading to her cousins wedding. Before boarding Chris lets her know that her shoe wasn't picked up. He even claimed it as his own but didn't choose it because it would look bad. Amy is upset and calls him out. They break up and don't go to the wedding. Amy instead gets shit faced drunk and urinates on his new Audi soft top convertible. Someone films her and the video goes viral. Amy moves to London and goes into hiding. Amy's new company hires Chris as an interim boss. Amy wants revenge. She enlists her neighbor Jake who just got famous from running away at a reality show. He's a screenwriter and they write a show.

This was a cute fun romance. I listened to it in one sitting. The narrator is one of my favorites. I really enjoy this author and I can't wait to read the rest of her books.
