Amy made a mess of her life after a video of a very embarrassing incident went viral. She moved from New York to London to start fresh. She has an amazing new opportunity at work and a hot new neighbor who just came off a reality show. Things seem to have turned around for Amy until the person in charge of her new work opportunity turns out to be someone from her own life. The one person who hates her the most from her old life. Does she cut and run like she did last time her life fell apart or does she figure out how to stay in her new life and make the most of a bad situation?

This book hit the right spot for a rom-com. It's funny, heartwarming, and just enough romance to keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed so many things about this story. Definitely a great rom-com for summer.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the ARC of this book.

OMG she did it again!
Funny, entertaining, hilarious and sweet - how can you not love this book!?!

I sincerely hope this will become a TV show, it would be perfect. Well done, Lizzy!!

Lizzie Dent, I knew as soon as I read your latest release, I would be counting down for your next!!!

The Sweetest Revenge will make you laugh out loud as Amy (who reminds me a bit of Amelia Bedelia, a bit) muddles through her life after a disastrous revenge act she enacted on her ex-boyfriend. I feel like she needed to listen to Carrie Underwood's song "Before He Cheats". Instead, Amy climbs onto her ex-boyfriend's car and takes a sweet relieving wiz on his car. Unfortunately for Amy, her act is caught on video and goes viral.

Two years later, Amy has moved on, or so she thinks. When an opportunity at her current job arises and Amy is presented with a chance to pitch her own show again, she's determined to make it happen. However, when her ex appears at the office, Amy is forced to confront her past, while crafting a new show pitch with her very delicious neighbor, Jake.

The chemistry in this book was fun. Amy is a mess and Jake is a sturdy rock. I loved the development of their friendship and seeing them work through their miscommunications, hopes, and fears.

The cover of this photo is so appropriate for sweet, quirky, and vengeful Amy. She's going succeed and stick it to The Man.

I now need my next Lizzie Dent book, k Lizzie?

A huge thank you to PRH Audio and Putnam for granting me access to this title via NetGalley!

American Amy works in tv production and when she is screwed over by her boss and also dumped by him she gets drunk and decides the appropriate reaction to this is to pee on the roof of his soft top car which promptly collapses underneath her. It’s just her luck that in a city of millions there happens to be someone who knows her and doesn’t like her there to film it and post her humiliation on the interwebs. Obviously she must flee the country. Fast forward two years later, Amy is doing grunt work in a tiny tv production company in London when her downstairs flat is rented to Jake who has just been humiliated in front of the whole country on tv and is laying low. Amy can relate. But then! Opportunity takes a hand, Amy and Jake team up to make brilliant tv together in bid to win a pitch but no! The American ex boyfriend comes back to get his sticky mits all over Amy and her pitch.
So this follows the Lizzie Dent pattern book, woman makes life changing move, finds attractive man in vicinity, events happen they fall in love. That’s fine all good. I will happily read that. This one felt a bit slow to be honest, there is not a great deal of revenge in the end, Amy is staggeringly stupid when I comes to the American ex, I couldn’t understand why she would trust him again in the slightest after what he did but she does. I also felt Jakes story was a bit half baked. Entertaining enough but lacking bite.

From the cover to the first sentence I knew I would love the latest from Lizzy Dent! This sharp and quick book set in London about a girl who just can't seem to get it right.

Loved the chemistry between Amy and Jake and how easily they enjoyed one another's company

I really liked the writing of this, I’ve read a book from this author before and the writing is always engaging. This plot was funny and sweet, there were some parts that were quite predictable but still entertaining nonetheless. It was a satisfying ending too, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned 😜

This book killed me! It had me hooked from the beginning. I still cannot get over the way she went viral in the beginning of the book. However, the way that she pulled through and decided it wouldn’t define her is what made it for me. Then, there’s the love story mixed with the revenge for her ex. Ugh. It was so good. I definitely recommend this book for a quick and cute read!

This novel is pure enjoyment and flirty fun. If you’re looking for a fun, light rom-com, I highly recommend Lizzy Dent. I enjoyed watching Amy’s journey to get her mojo back after going through a heartbreak and subsequent social media humiliation. The relationship between Amy and Jake is fun and sexy (but ultimately stays mostly closed door). I could have done with a few less f-bombs and c words, but otherwise this was a great read if you’re in the mood for light romance.

“The Sweetest Revenge” by Lizzy Dent is such a cute rom-com. I couldn’t put it down.

The FMC felt very relatable. She was strong, messy, and everything you’d want to just root for throughout the book. The MMC was so dreamy as well. Readers will be excited to follow their story

I enjoyed every moment of this book and can’t wait to read more by Lizzy Dent.

Thank you NetGalley, Lizzy Dent, and G. P. Putnam’s Sons for this ARC.

Adored this book. This is the first book I’ve read from Lizzy Dent and it won’t be the last. Amy is a fantastic character and there were many times I was cheering for her (Audi moment) and I just knew from the first page I was going to love her. Hilarious with moments that will have you swooning.

Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam for the eARC! Lizzy Dent is an author I’ve been wanting to read for some time and I was so excited for the opportunity to read her third novel, The Sweetest Revenge, early.

This was such a cute romance between Amy and Jake, I could see why Amy was instantly charmed by him. I thought the setting of the TV development world was unique and interesting. The “revenge” was satisfying, but Amy overcoming her shame and knowing her worth was even better. This was a very quick read with fairly short chapters which is always a plus for me!

Finishes The Sweetest Revenge, immediately adds all Lizzy Dent books to wishlist. What a perfect romantic comedy.

This is a story of Amy and Jake, both with some recent drama and embarrassment in their past and looking to move on with their lives. I love Amy and her spunky realness. Jake might just be one of the sweetest characters I’ve ever come across in a romance novel. I laughed out loud, swooned, all of the things.

Read this if you want a little romance, humor, and revenge in your reading escape. Perfect for fans of Emily Henry and Christina Lauren. I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam’s Sons for the advanced digital copy.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

✈️ to: London, Wales, NYC

The Sweetest Revenge is Lizzy Dent's newest rom com centering on Amy Duffy - a power house tv development executive who flees to a life in London after her boyfriend breaks up with her and she takes some regrettable and very public revenge on him. Years later in London, Amy is finally ready to take her shot with a new tv pitch -- which she is working on with her hot/former reality tv star neighbor -- when her ex is hired at her company. Will she stick the pitch?

This is a perfectly fine love story, but I don't necessarily think it needed to be written. If I heard about this love story in real life, I don't think it would really register as anything special to me, EXCEPT for being jealous of the main MC finding a hot British man whose family owns a cottage in Snowdonia (a beautiful area of Wales!).

This took me longer than it probably should have to read at 368 pages, but I just found the whole thing a little underwhelming. If you're looking for spice, looks elsewhere... this was a fade to black romance. I also didn't really understand the MC's next level embarrassment about what she did to her ex when he broke up with her -- to the extent that she didn't see her family for TWO years! That seemed a little blown out of proportion.

The Sweetest Revenge is by no means my favorite of Lizzy Dent's books (that title belongs to The Summer Job), but it's also not my least favorite.

This book was so good!

The anger I felt for her ex justified her actions and I loved the budding relationship between the two main characters as they wrote their tv show.

A must-read!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read an Arc of this book!

Loved this story of turning a hot mess around and accepting your past!

Amy Duffy works in production of TV series in New York and is in love with her boss. He screws her over at work and steals the show - literally - and dumps her on the eve of her cousin's wedding. In her rage (& bridesmaid's dress) she decides to get revenge. Unfortunately, this revenge is caught on video by a passerby.

In her embarrassment, Amy runs off to London, takes a lesser job and keeps to herself. UNTIL Jake moves in upstairs. He is fresh off of a reality show where he is the talk of the town. Amy wants to know more about him and asks her friend to reach out to his agent.

Amy also finds out there is a competition at work, led by her ex, of all people. She HAS TO pitch a show that is worthy of being picked up. Jake turns out to be a talented screenwriter and they start working ideas together.

I loved the bits of them going around London, checking out areas for the show. Their banter and looks are EVERYTHING.

Amy hasn't learned her lesson from the first time she was burned, but is learning the hard way now.

What fun read, it is for every girl that does something way out of character! Lizzy really touched on what happens to women when we make a mistake vs man when they do. LOL This story is relatable, funny and keeps you guessing the whole time. I was really cheering for Amy and Jake, I loved that they both had relatable connection. I loved the parts when they were working together to come up with the best TV series. I felt they pushed each other, just enough to make the best team.

I also think Dent could breakout into thriller stories, I would totally read.

Amy's one-time drunken night of revenge to her boss/ex-boyfriend comes back to haunt her including the loss of her job. She up and leaves across the country to a job in London for a fresh start. Soon she starts believing made the mistake is in the past and maybe she can open her heart again. Sparks so start to fly with her very hot new neighbor. Both start working together to help each other or is Amy only helping herself, is her past mistake really in the past?

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group for a copy of this book for my honest review.

This was SO FUN! Lizzy Dent is becoming an auto-read author for me! I loved loved loved this one. My only gripe is that while the main character was American, she sounded VERY British 🤣

3/5 stars

I enjoyed the set-up at the beginning of the story. Amy, who was embarrassed and betrayed by her boyfriend and boss, left the country to start over. Except she's now gone from coming up with show ideas to working on advertising for shows, which she doesn't love. I really liked the behind the scenes look at the TV industry and the friendships our FMC had developed. I struggled to connect with Amy after the way she disconnected from the people who cared about her. I did like the friendship that developed between Amy and Jake. The relationship between the two felt a little shallow and based solely on attraction. I did enjoy the conclusion of the story. I always enjoy when people who have done the main character wrong get their comeuppnace.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the early copy to read. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
