Not what I was expecting from Ruth Ware, but I loved it! This is the first really strong main character I've seen from her. I was impressed. Thank you for the ARC.

What a rollercoaster ride! Ms. Ware is so good at weaving a story that grabs you and doesn’t let go until the last page. Jack’s journey is nerve-wracking and nail biting and you will find yourself reading it every chance you get so goodbye housework for a bit.

Ruth Ware is one of my favorite authors, and Zero Days is a perfect example of why. Ware's mastered a twisty, unpredictable plot line balanced with a grounded, emotional narrative. The last few times I've finished her books, I've found myself nostalgic and missing her characters already. I don't want to reveal any of the plot of this book, but will add that I learned so much about hacking and just general survival.

I have read all of Ruth Ware’s books. “The Death of Mrs Westaway” “Turn of the Key” are my favorites. This one falls in the bottom middle of the pack. Yes it is fast moving. It’s very reminiscent of “the fugitive” as other reviewers have pointed out. However, I figure it out Cole’s involvement, almost as soon as he was introduced. There just weren’t enough red herrings to throw off the identity of the killer. Jack’s ex boyfriend being way too obvious for a choice. I’ll continue to read Ruth Ware’s books, but I hope she sticks to more Gothic themes in the future

An original premise and a compelling heroine made this one another winner from Ware.

This is another awesome Ruth Ware book! I am thrilled to have gotten the chance to jump into her latest. It is near the top of my favorite Ruth Ware books, and I have read them all! I recommend to my fellow suspense mystery lovers.

Ruth Ware isn't a sure bet author for me - we have a very tenuous relationship of hits or misses. But MAN was this a hit for me. Hired as a penetration specialist, Jack is uniquely qualified for infiltration and extraction. She just didn't expect to be escaping her life as she knew it. Between the mysterious countdown of days as chapter titles, the twists and turns as the plot unfolds, and the high octane writing, this is a definite win for thriller fans. It's definitely a departure from her slow and winding mysteries, rather full of action and travel. I really hope that she sticks with this style for future books, because I could get used to this.

My well nurtured obsession began when I discovered The Woman in Cabin Ten, many moons ago. I fed this obsession along the way with In a Dark Dark Wood and the It Girl.

And then I got my greedy little paws on Zero Days, and my life has never been the same.

If you haven’t read a Ruth Ware book I actually envy you, you have so many incredible books that you will be able to enjoy for the first time .

Jack and her husband Gabe are “pen testers” - people who test corporate security systems. Jack does the physical stuff, like picking locks and sneaking into buildings, and Gabe takes care of the hacking/computer stuff. One night, after a particularly difficult job, Jack comes home to find Gabe with his throat cut. She is (of course) the prime suspect in his brutal murder, and as the police find more and more evidence pointing to Jack, she goes on the run and uses her sneaky skills to try to clear her name and find out who killed Gabe.

This was…… fine? Ish? Kind of? The setup was fun, but I feel like I didn’t know much about Jack or Gabe - a job, even a cool-sounding one, is not a personality - and most of the book consisted of Jack running, picking locks, injuring herself, and changing bandages. The big reveal of who was behind Gabe’s murder was super obvious and pretty disappointing. I read this on a long plane ride, and it kept my interest enough that I can’t say I hated it, but it was definitely not my favorite.
That said, existing Ware fans looking for something a little different will likely enjoy this book.

Ruth Ware has done it again. This book keeps you at the edge of your seat compulsively turning pages at the speed of light. Wow this book.
It took off fast and it stayed at that speed. I don’t think I’ve read a thriller that has managed to do that before.

5 stars and a definite will buy the audible. Just to experience it again.
