Book Review: A Perfect Pairing
Stars: 4 x 5
Author: Sheryl Lister @sheryllister

Thank you @netgalley for this ARC.

Natasha and Antonio were going to get married after college. They had been together since high school. The marriage did not happen as Natasha broke it off because Antonio’s distant college led to her having many question and insecurities.
As a few years have passed, Natasha is now a successful Realtor in their hometown of Firelake. She finished college with a degree in interior design. Natasha’s company has the listing for some new condominiums being built. Little did she know that Antonio would be the builder on this project. Antonio was living in NYC and working in finance but his uncle wants to retire and the business to Antonio which is why he has come home. Antonio’s uncle is going to teach him all he needs to know for the business. Natasha is set to meet with Antonio as the project builder. As their worlds collide again will they be able to make a go of it again or will they drop it? Will this be a second change romance or will the past be to much to get over.

What sweet cozy second chance romance this book was. It has a bit of everything, love, friendship, turmoil, spiciness etc. The characters were wonderful and very like able just as all the supporting characters and the townsfold.

A perfect pairing indeed!

Natasha & Antonio were so adorable! This gives you all the sappy sweet hallmark movie vibes. A small town + forced proximity with childhood exes, sign me up. The town was gossiping and getting their lives as they cheered on this relationship (and maybe made a few bets to boot).

The friends & family dynamics were top tier as well. I loved how they shown up for their loved ones. Antonio’s grandfather who has Alzheimer’s really touched a special place in my heart. Tonio’s grandparents deserved it all.

“If we’re fortunate, we grow into adulthood and get a second chance to do things right.”

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I thought this was such a sweet second chance romance book. There’s romance, friendship and family in this story. I loved that there was a little bit of it all. This is the second book in the series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. It was nice to see some of the characters again from the previous book. This is such a quick and heartwarming read. I highly recommend checking it out!

Natasha Baldwin and Antonio Hayes are high school sweethearts that went their separate ways, when their circumstances gave them returning home to the quaint town of Firefly Lake. But are they ready for their second chance at love?

This was a light and fun read that felt so cozy. I absolutely loved all the supporting characters and would love to read more about them (and go back and read Serenity and Gabe’s story). I thought the supporting characters and small town life really made the book feel like a big hug, and the larger life events woven in (like dementia) really tied the story together and made it feel complete. It was very cute and left me wanting literally anything and everything that Serenity cooks.

Thank you to Sheryl Lister, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review. This book is out now!

"A Perfect Pairing" unfolds as a small town, second-chance romance that reunites Natasha with her ex-boyfriend, Antonio. Natasha, securing the listing for new condos in town, is taken aback when she discovers that Antonio is the appointed builder. Their reconnection ensues as they collaborate on the project, sparking a blend of familiarity and the potential for rekindled romance.

The story, though not groundbreaking, succeeds in delivering a charming tale of second chances and the intricacies of rekindled love. If you're seeking a light and enjoyable summer read that tugs at the heartstrings without delving into explicit content, this might be the right choice.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Nastasha and Antonio. They have known each other for all their lives. They dated in high school, but broke up in college. They both moved back to their hometown after living in another state for several years. They started dating. They each have issues but together they worked their issues out and fell in love.

This was just not the book for me right now. I'm not really feeling these small town romances and I have so many arcs to read that I just need to move on.

A cute and fun read that will keep you turning the pages to see what Natasha and her ex is up to.
I loved this new to me author that has made her characters realistic and authentic.
The scenery that has been described has made feel like I was at home away from home.
I recommend this book because it's 2nd chance romance and it's a fun and laid-back read.
Honestly it's the cover that drew me in.
The story inside didn't disappoint.
5 stars for a job well done.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Sheryl Lister has done it again and she never disappoints. This was a good read from cover to cover. Well thought out plot and relatable characters.

2.5 stars. This was fine but honestly I was bored out of my mind and found myself really skimming. The premise of this book is that 2 exes have to come back together to work on a new construction project. She's a realtor/interior designer, he's taking over his grandpa's construction company so boom- back together. They hate each other for about 4 seconds because of prior hurts, then magically they decide to try after so many years. I hate when stories flip on a dime and I didn't feel any chemistry. This got a little steamier than I like but its relatively mild. I just felt no connection to the characters and most of them were pretty flat. The female friendship element is severely lacking and this was definitely just okay.

Sheryl Lister is at again with the next installment of the “Super Club”. We are headed back to the small town of Firefly Lake with nosy neighbors and everyone knows each-others business . We met Natasha who is a real estate agent in “A Table For Two” along with Serenity who is a Nurse and, Dana who is an auto mechanic and Lisa who is a nurse who is married and having minor marital problems. Tasha loves her job as a real estate agent but her true passion is in interior decorating. Tasha and Antonio share a pass with the two being high school sweethearts going away to college and parting ways due to miscommunication and a misunderstanding. As these navigate their way back into each-others lives we learn the reason for their parting of ways. Serenity and Gabe are still enjoying wedded bliss with Serenity continuing her supper club meals and her chocolate champagne infused strawberries. All the ladies are awesome and share a bond that makes them more like sisters than friends. When one is having a problem they are always there for each other. It is great that Toni knows the reason for he and Tasha’s break-up and things are looking up for the couple. Can’t wait to see who Sheryl Lister will write about next will it be Dana finding her HEA or will it Lisa working thru her marital shortcomings. This is a great addition to the “Supper Club” that you will not want to miss out on. If you have not read “A Table Two” may I suggest you start with book one first.

I received an ARC via NetGalley Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Natasha Baldwin loves her life. As top realtor in her hometown of Firefly Lake, she has a good job and even better friends. Really, Tasha has only two never pursuing her dream career…and how things ended with Antonio Hayes years ago. So when an opportunity arises to show off her passion for interior design, Tasha’s excited—and a little nervous. But with the support of her girlfriends at their biweekly supper club, she’s eager to dive in…until she discovers that Antonio is her new project partner.

Teaming up with her ex is less than ideal, but with all eyes in town on her new project, Tasha knows now is not the time to let her messy past with Antonio impact her future. Yet working with Antonio immediately sparks bittersweet memories…and the same undeniable, irresistible chemistry even after all their years apart. Then, just as Natasha realizes that the life and love she’s waited for are within reach, her big break comes around, and she must decide what she truly wants…

This is one of my favorite second chance romance stories. Brilliantly written and you can't help but fall in love with the characters. Will recommend to others.

A cute romance with a spice touch to the mix that makes this romance story fun to just set down and read .and will have your heart feeling butterflies the more you get into the story

A sweet romance with a slight bit of spice telling the story of a second chance romance. High school to college sweethearts who ended in heartbreak find themselves working closely together after many years apart. They have lived more, lost more and are more mature. Are they strong enough to get over the heartbreak from years past or will they continue on the path of loneliness and work? The characters were wonderfully compelling and drew you into their story. I was cheering them on from the beginning and am hopeful that we'll get to visit them again in future stories as this author wove a compelling group of characters that could easily allow one of the other friends to step into the limelight as main character. If you know me at all, you know that I am a series addict so would love to come back to visit this world again and again!

Natasha and Antonio gave me the warm and fuzzies. I really enjoyed this book. It was a second-chance romance. He was salty at first and I wanted to shake him for being a bit of a jerk but it didn't take long for her to tug at his heartstrings again. The flow of the book was really good. I enjoyed visiting with characters I had met before in a previous book. The ending was really cute.
