The only thing that kept this book from being a five chair for me, were the details of the steamy scenes - I know for some that is why they read romance. So if you like great characters, small town setting and a really good story you should read this one.

There were a couple of things that I really liked about the book - the two main characters had a miscommunication to begin with, but after that they talked everything through. The other thing I enjoyed was they didn't break up - get back together - break up - once they worked things out - they kept talking and working on their relationship.

What happens when you have to team up with your ex on a new project? Natasha Baldwin is not sure, but she refuses to let her past relationship with Antonio Hayes interfere with the project. Agreeing to working on the project, their chemistry is still ever present even years later.

I love reading second chance romances. It is always good read how the author takes the characters through various emotional states to display their vulnerability, regret, determination, and devotion to describe the depth of the love felt with the couple. Natasha and Antonio, high-school sweethearts and were able to rekindle that love years later albeit obstacles, Antonio was determined to win Natasha heart. Ms. Lister did a great job with character development and the storyline.

I love small town romances and this book didn't disappoint. It was sweet to see them find each other again. I enjoyed how the town played apart in their reconnection.

This is is a charming romance that follows the journey of Morgan Reed, an ambitious sommelier, and Austin Richardson, a successful vineyard owner. Their paths cross at a wine competition, where their mutual passion for wine and undeniable chemistry spark a heartfelt connection.

Lister's storytelling is both engaging and evocative, capturing the essence of Napa Valley's scenic beauty and the intricacies of winemaking.

The characters are well-developed, and their emotional growth throughout the story feels genuine.

This book is a delightful read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted romance with a touch of elegance and sophistication.

This book felt like a hallmark movie in text form-such an easy read! It's a small-town second chance romance with sweet characters, a sprinkle of spice, and a great community of side characters. Natasha is a realtor and Antanio is a builder-they get paired up on a project and have an opportunity to explore what went wrong when they first dated. Such a fun read.

Book Review: A Perfect Pairing
Stars: 4 x 5
Author: Sheryl Lister @sheryllister

Thank you @netgalley for this ARC.

Natasha and Antonio were going to get married after college. They had been together since high school. The marriage did not happen as Natasha broke it off because Antonio’s distant college led to her having many question and insecurities.
As a few years have passed, Natasha is now a successful Realtor in their hometown of Firelake. She finished college with a degree in interior design. Natasha’s company has the listing for some new condominiums being built. Little did she know that Antonio would be the builder on this project. Antonio was living in NYC and working in finance but his uncle wants to retire and the business to Antonio which is why he has come home. Antonio’s uncle is going to teach him all he needs to know for the business. Natasha is set to meet with Antonio as the project builder. As their worlds collide again will they be able to make a go of it again or will they drop it? Will this be a second change romance or will the past be to much to get over.

What sweet cozy second chance romance this book was. It has a bit of everything, love, friendship, turmoil, spiciness etc. The characters were wonderful and very like able just as all the supporting characters and the townsfold.

A perfect pairing indeed!

Natasha & Antonio were so adorable! This gives you all the sappy sweet hallmark movie vibes. A small town + forced proximity with childhood exes, sign me up. The town was gossiping and getting their lives as they cheered on this relationship (and maybe made a few bets to boot).

The friends & family dynamics were top tier as well. I loved how they shown up for their loved ones. Antonio’s grandfather who has Alzheimer’s really touched a special place in my heart. Tonio’s grandparents deserved it all.

“If we’re fortunate, we grow into adulthood and get a second chance to do things right.”

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I thought this was such a sweet second chance romance book. There’s romance, friendship and family in this story. I loved that there was a little bit of it all. This is the second book in the series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. It was nice to see some of the characters again from the previous book. This is such a quick and heartwarming read. I highly recommend checking it out!

Natasha Baldwin and Antonio Hayes are high school sweethearts that went their separate ways, when their circumstances gave them returning home to the quaint town of Firefly Lake. But are they ready for their second chance at love?

This was a light and fun read that felt so cozy. I absolutely loved all the supporting characters and would love to read more about them (and go back and read Serenity and Gabe’s story). I thought the supporting characters and small town life really made the book feel like a big hug, and the larger life events woven in (like dementia) really tied the story together and made it feel complete. It was very cute and left me wanting literally anything and everything that Serenity cooks.

Thank you to Sheryl Lister, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review. This book is out now!

"A Perfect Pairing" unfolds as a small town, second-chance romance that reunites Natasha with her ex-boyfriend, Antonio. Natasha, securing the listing for new condos in town, is taken aback when she discovers that Antonio is the appointed builder. Their reconnection ensues as they collaborate on the project, sparking a blend of familiarity and the potential for rekindled romance.

The story, though not groundbreaking, succeeds in delivering a charming tale of second chances and the intricacies of rekindled love. If you're seeking a light and enjoyable summer read that tugs at the heartstrings without delving into explicit content, this might be the right choice.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Nastasha and Antonio. They have known each other for all their lives. They dated in high school, but broke up in college. They both moved back to their hometown after living in another state for several years. They started dating. They each have issues but together they worked their issues out and fell in love.

This was just not the book for me right now. I'm not really feeling these small town romances and I have so many arcs to read that I just need to move on.

A cute and fun read that will keep you turning the pages to see what Natasha and her ex is up to.
I loved this new to me author that has made her characters realistic and authentic.
The scenery that has been described has made feel like I was at home away from home.
I recommend this book because it's 2nd chance romance and it's a fun and laid-back read.
Honestly it's the cover that drew me in.
The story inside didn't disappoint.
5 stars for a job well done.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Sheryl Lister has done it again and she never disappoints. This was a good read from cover to cover. Well thought out plot and relatable characters.

2.5 stars. This was fine but honestly I was bored out of my mind and found myself really skimming. The premise of this book is that 2 exes have to come back together to work on a new construction project. She's a realtor/interior designer, he's taking over his grandpa's construction company so boom- back together. They hate each other for about 4 seconds because of prior hurts, then magically they decide to try after so many years. I hate when stories flip on a dime and I didn't feel any chemistry. This got a little steamier than I like but its relatively mild. I just felt no connection to the characters and most of them were pretty flat. The female friendship element is severely lacking and this was definitely just okay.
