The Right Wrong Match is book 2 in the "Love in Mirror Valley" series and focuses on Luke and Daisy. Daisy is best friends with Ivy, Luke's sister, and they have grown up in close proximity their whole lives. Daisy has also had a crush on Luke since childhood though, seeing as he was with the same girl throughout that time, never told anyone.

Daisy is a likeable character - she's so sweet, you could rightly be worried about getting a cavity from her. But it works in this narrative - she's an over-achieving, people pleaser who has strong ties to her community and her friends. Luke is advertised as being grumpy, however, this doesn't really come across - he's more reserved and doesn't overshare like Daisy and Ivy d0 but, otherwise, seems perfectly pleasant to people around him.

Thanks to a glitch in a dating app, all of Daisy's matches turn up for a date at the same time - this leads to an impromptu single's night, which brings in significant funds the community seems to so despearately need. Based off the success of this, Daisy becomes the town "event coordinator" and Luke is roped in to help her with the budget. It also turns out that Luke is one of Daisy's online suitors...

If you like Happy Ever Afters and don't mind #instalove over any other trope, then this is the book for you. It's a cute romance with enjoyable characters and a fun setting. I genuinely look forward to reading the other books in this series and more from this author!

A sweet, light fluffy romance. Daisy is on a mission to go through each and every romance trope ever written to find her HEA. Luke is trying to move forward from having been left at the alter with a very guarded heart. Will they, won’t they, small town romance with some good friends to help them get there. Easy listen.

This is a super sweet rom com and I really enjoyed it. I don’t typically like when they fall really fast, so that kind of bothered me a bit. I do feel like we’re given a satisfactory explanation for that though- which was redeeming. I really enjoyed this one.

3.5⭐️ rounded up. Sweet little romance! I liked the characters and the narrators were fantastic. Would recommend as a spring break or beach read to anyone looking for a feel good story!

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this arc!

Daisy has a fun and a bit quirky personality and Luke, while a bit stuffy, seemed to appreciate Daisy pulling him out of his rule following ways.
Best Friend's brother. Grumpy/Sunshine. Dating App.
There is a lot going on in this book, however it flowed perfectly.
This is an adorable romance story that at times seemed like a slow burn, however the details, build up, and various storylines (What is going on with the town finances? Why is that person back? A few other people who could be potential couples...) create depth and breadth.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media who provided me with a copy of this audiobook. In exchange I am giving an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

"I'm all his and he's all mine"

I would like to give a big thanks to NetGalley, the publishers and mostly the author Sara Jane Woodley for
writing such a sweet and fluffy book!

✅ Friends to Lovers
✅ Best friend's Brother
✅ Childhood Friends
✅ She Fell First but He Fell Harder
✅ Dual POVs

The Plot
This book grasped my interest from the very beginning! The Plot wasn't as cliché as I thought it would be since
in a way this book is a friends to lovers which many people aren't actually a fan of but I am certain that so many
would love this book because even though they already knew each other and us readers didn't get that
development, there was still a big development between the two but there is also a big development with the
plot itself which does keep you interested. I understand that the community center is a big part in this book and
plot but I felt like a few more pages to explain its importance to the characters individually would have helped a bit more

The Characters

Daisy
Daisy was such a well written and cute character. All the effort she puts into helping others and putting others
needs before her own was very inspirational. I really enjoyed reading about her background and how she is the
person she is now because of all she had been through. I liked how close she was to her sister and how their
relationship was so strong in this book!

Luke
Luke was such a sweetheart in this book! Again, I liked how the author explained his hardships so well and how
it shows that his past made him who he truly is now. I loved how we see him slowly letting go of what holds him
back in life and his relationship with his sister and her husband aka his best friend is just *chefs kiss* E
This book is officially the second book in the Love in Mirror Valley series but can totally be read as a stand
alone although if you read the first book, you will find out a sneak peak of something that happens to these
characters and how that effects them in this book.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It’s fun, it’s entertaining, an easy read, really, especially since it REALLY feels like Gilmore Girls, especially Luke and Lorelai (I mean the guy IS literally called Luke). I enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine trope, for once the grumpy wasn’t some kind of a**hole guy, just mean to the main character. Plus I like he’s audio narrator, he’s voice is a little soothing and not too annoying. I can’t really say the same for Daisy’s and, I’m sorry about this, but she just sounded too American. Now on Daisy: she’s not the brightest fish in the sea (you can’t have the bright personality and brain lmaoo) and I genially did not care about her. Finally, the plot was just too much for a sweet rom-com book! We have the brother/sister’s best friend/best friend’s sibling thing which confused me to no end! Then we have the anonymous texting thing, they’ve been in love with each other for ever but it’s a little TOO much and obvious and ON TOP OF THAT you have the ‘forced to work together’ thing. And I just think it’s too much. Plus they’re so oblivious to how they feel about each other and I don’t have the patience for that. Honestly, the only reason I kept listening was because of the Luke/Lorelai vibes and it delivered on that. It’s not terrible and I would recommend if you’re looking for a book to disconnect your brain and listen to something that won’t require much brain power. 3 stars.

This was a cute, lighthearted romcom. It's perfect for readers who like small-town romances, best friend's brother, Hallmark movie vibes, grumpy guys, and a mild spice level.

This was such a light-hearted, fun, and adorable romance! I didn’t realize it was part of a series, and now I definitely want to go back and read the first one! I love small town rom-coms and this one made me smile to myself through most of the book! I definitely recommend.

A really sweet, clean romance! Y'all know I'm not a
*huge* fan of clean romances but there are a couple of series that I make exceptions for, and this is one of them (more on the other to come at a later date ).
I fell hard for Luke! The jump he made from grump to swoon worthy hunk was incredible.my man has a way with words.
The chemistry was amazing!
There was a small "secret" that came out and I'm SO happy that it got resolved quickly and it wasn't a big miscommunication/dramatic thing.
Also, fun fact... I read the first book in this series (stand alones, but have intertwining characters) and didn't realize this was the second book until about 60% in ©. They might be the same series but they have different "feels" and I actually liked that a lot!
Tropes you'll love: Grumpy/sunshine, best friends older brother, accidental dating site match, "I'm not dating right now" ...trust me, you'll love it!

Read this sweet little romance for: childhood crushes, dating apps, meddling siblings, and charming banter.

Daisy has had a long time crush on her friend's grumpy older brother, and through a dating app mishap, Daisy might finally have a chance with Luke. If you're in the mood for something light-hearted that leaves you with a smile this is it.

Told from dual POVs, Sara Jane Woodley’s The Right Wrong Match is a very cute friends to lovers romance. When I first started listening I did not know this was the second book in a series, but fear not you absolutely do not need to have read/listened to the first book to enjoy this one. Daisy is a sweetheart, a real girl next door type. Unfortunately she has never been able too find her Mr. Right. Growing up she had a crush on her best friend’s brother, but she completely dismissed that idea long ago. She’s now using a dating app and is surprised that she is actually interested in a guy. It’s an app that encourages singles to get to know each other slowly, so no pics and minimal data available from the start. When the option comes available to actually invite her mystery man out on a real date, Daisy hesitantly decides to go through with it, but a glitch in the app sends her invite to everyone in her sphere of influence on the app, meaning dozens of guys show up for her date. The one she was actually interested in was…(come on, you know it already, right? So say it with me) her best friend’s brother Luke. Even though it was quite a while ago, he’s been the talk of the town since his fiancee left him right before their planned wedding. So he’s gun-shy about getting back into the dating scene and as such has used his middle name on the dating app. (Daisy had been using her Grandmother’s nickname for her on the app.) When Like discovers he’s been falling for Daisy it throws him for a loop and he doesn’t confess he’s been the one she’s been talking to right away. This is a real cute, sweet romance, and I loved the main characters, as well as a number of the bit players (and it’s clear who the next book in the series will be about.) If I have any complaints (and it would be a minor one) its that there is never a major crisis where I feared the budding relationship would come crashing down. Yes, there is an incident that occurs, but honestly by then we knew just how crazy the two of them were for each other. But since I’m a sucker for a cute romance it didn’t bother me at all. I’ll definitely be going back to read or listen to the first in this series and looked forward to future volumes as well. Both narrators do a fantastic job. I’d like to thank Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to and review an advanced copy of the audio version of The Right Wrong Match.

The Right Wrong Match
by Sara Jane Woodley
Pub Date: 07 Mar 2023

After receiving this audiobook, I noticed this was book two in a series, so I found the first installment and listened to that first. I am glad I did because both books were cute perfection! Yes, you could listen to this as a standalone, but I think to get the full experience it would be more enjoyable to have the backstories as well.
Luke was left at the altar (storyline in book one) and Daisy is Luke's sister's best friend. There are a few tropes, Miss Sunshine VS Grump, best friend's brother romance, secret identity on a dating app... the combination was fun and so sweet. This was a solid Hallmark-like romance, and I appreciated not a lot of drama, especially when the ex-shows up back in town.

The narrators did a good job bringing the characters to life and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Another adorable romcom. I really like small town romances like this and it was cute getting to know all of the quirky little side characters. Didn't realize when I requested it that it's part 2 of a series that just started, so I'll have go back and read the 1st one.

The Right Wrong Match by Sara Jane Woodley

Daisy is on a mission to go through romance tropes until she finds the one and Luke is her best friend's older brother, who got dumped on his wedding day and is her childhood crush.
Both Daisy and Luke are on a dating app disguised with other names, not knowing that they've been talking to each other.

This would have been a better book without going through the romance tropes list. It just felt weird and corny. I did like the character Daisy she did a lot for the little town they lived in she really put her heart into the town.

Narrated by Justis Bolding and David Bendena did a good job bringing the characters to life. I just felt like the chemistry between the characters was missing they seemed to be better off as friends that is how it came across. I would recommend this romance to people who like corny romances this will bring joy to you. I would like to read something else from the author.

This was definitely a “cute” RomCom book, but honestly there wasn’t a whole lot that kept my attention through the story.

I liked the woman narrator, but I didn’t prefer the male.

After a couple of intense books, it was nice to have this one in the mix. This was a sweet and charming story about Daisy who is determined to check off her list of dating troupes. She joined her friend’s new dating app and there is a glitch where she accidentally sends an invite out to all of her matches to meet at a local bar. Daisy realizes this and invites all of the single girls she can find. Daisy still attends and sees a familiar face, Luke, who happens to be an old high school crush, and her best friend’s older brother. She sits down and talks to him only to find out much later that he was actually her match. I loved the game that Daisy plays throughout: Friends, First Date, or Married. I used to play the same game. Each of the characters were likable. There were a couple of romance troupes mixed in here, grumpy to sunshine, best friends’ brother, grand gestures, and small town romance. While there were some kissing scenes, a little bit of steam would have been nice to be mixed in throughout the story. This was a quick read that I finished in 2.5 days. If you are looking for a palate cleanser, this one can do the trick!

ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for sending me a copy of this audioARC. This was my first discovery into Sara Jane Woodley's writing and I can say I will be seeking out her other works, especially the first in the Love in Mirror Valley series.

This book is a classic contemporary romance. Enough twist and turns and tropes to keep it fun and light hearted. I was drawn in by the "Best friends brother" concept and seeing Luke and Daisy interact honestly was everything I could hope for. I was sold on them from the first "Friends, first date, married" game.

While the book didn't have any downfalls, it also didn't have anything that really pushed it over the top for me. The writing was beautiful, I loved the characters, the third act "breakup" was different than was we typically see. To be honest if I had to try and pinpoint it for why it wasn't a top read for me is that I don't do well with the miscommunication trope, and Luke at the end assuming like men often do, had me roll my eyes a bit.

If my friends are seeking a fun, low stakes romance with not a lot of angst, I think this one is perfect. And the things that lifted it up for me will have me continuing this story. I'm hoping the author will continue next with D and Noah's stories.

This was a sweet love story. I liked Daisy and Luke although she fought too hard to stay away from him. It started out interesting enough but about halfway through I started losing interest.
