Super cute! This was pretty standard, but I loved the healthy communication (especially around the 3rd act conflict).

It was a fairly quick read, so definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a quick romcom.

I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series!

3.5

The Right Wrong Match is the second book in the Love in Mirror Valley series. This can be enjoyed just fine as a stand-alone but as someone who liked the first book, having the knowledge of the characters will make this one so much better.

The first book followed Ivy and James, now we have Ivy’s best friend Daisy, and both Ivy’s brother and James' best friend, Luke. I did like Ivy and James in the first book but I loved Daisy and Luke in this book, especially Daisy. Daisy had me constantly laughing out loud with her commentary on herself. She was such a funny lovable character.

The small-town charm is present and done well. I have read a lot of small-town romances and Mirror Valley is up there for one of my favorite small towns.

If I had any complaint at all it would be that it was extremely predictable. It’s not a good complaint because you come to a book like this to feel good and most of those stories are predictable.

Even know this can be enjoyed as a stand-alone I really recommend starting at the beginning. You will appreciate this so much more if you do.

Sweet contemporary romance with a mix of so many tropes, best friends older brother, unrequited, dating app mixed up identity, the list goes on. It was really cute I have never read any books by Sara Woodley before but I already checked out the first in this series from the library. I will definitely be following this author. And I would recommend this book. I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrators did an excellent job!

I knew from The Next Worst Thing that Daisy and Luke were meant to be! They have such great chemistry! I loved Daisy trying to force certain tropes to find her HEA. It was stinking adorable how Luke made sure to embrace Daisy’s passions! I am definitely super excited for the next one in this series!

This was a very cute story. I didn’t realize that it was the second in a series but that didn’t hinder my reading experience. I thought Daisy and Luke were very likeable characters and thought they were a good
match. My one complaint is that they were a bit too boring. Everything worked out too neatly for them and I kept hoping for a little more passion and romance for them. I still enjoyed it though!

I don't always go for a clean-romance, and I certainly didn't know this was part of a series. All that aside, I thought this was so cute! I loved the premise, the dating-app aspect (I'm wishing for that app to be made in real life). I personally think there could have been more detail (like more to the first date scene, more to the characters themselves, etc.). However, for me not knowing it is a wholesome read when I am very much not a wholesome reader, this was definitely enjoyable!

Thank you to netgalley and dreamscape media for this advance listening copy for this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was adorable. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and premise. My really concern had to do with the audio recording. The voice actor who played Luc is voice didn’t fit that of the character I was envisioning. And it was annoying me most of the time. When daisy spoke I had no issue and enjoyed her.

I gave the book 4 stars because of the audio voice but I no I would have given the book itself a 5 star review if u had read it and not listened to the audio recording.

Daisy had a crush on her best friends brother, Luke, in high school, but they couldn't happen for many different reasons. They are both now on a dating app (her by choice, him forced by his friends). After a technical incident, they are now collaborating to plan singles fundraisers to raise money for their sinking town.
This second book of the Love in Mirror Valley series was a really cute small town, best friend's brother, grumpy sunshine, childhood crush romance! I love small town settings. Although I didn't read the first book, I consider this can be read as a standalone as I was able to follow all along, but I will definitely go back now and read it because I loved this one! It's filled with solid characters with good development, and the third act breakup (which can sometimes be very annoying - I know it's part of the recipe, but...) was handled very well. The audio book offered a great dual POV narration.
loved the trope list

“You’re always nice to me”
“I’m only nice to you”

I love a good grumpy sunshine book and The Right Wrong Match definitely delivered. Daisy and Luke are 100% opposites in most ways. Daisy has had a crush on Luke since they were kids but worked hard to tamper down those feelings. Which worked out well until they’re forced to work together to try to save the community center in their small town (love forced proximity). Luke doesn’t want to date anyone, especially after he was left at the alter by his ex fiancée but Daisy breaks through his barriers without even realizing it. I love how real and honest the characters were with each other. They had beautiful communication (thank you to the author for no 3rd act breakup). Also loved all of our side characters!

Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is so cute! I loved it.
I‘m currently in the worst reading slump but I always listen to audiobooks at work and I‘m so glad I chose this one.

Luke and Daisy are adorable together and I was rooting for them from the start. (I didn’t read the first book, so I didn’t know anyone before but I‘m excited for the next!)

Daisy felt very relatable, bit of a people pleaser with a big heart. Love that she‘s just doing random jobs. It just shows how difficult it can be to find something you‘re really passionate about and I loved it.

Luke on the other hand, he‘s a little grumpy but in a very loving way. I loved how he just opens up to Daisy, even tho he‘s usually the strong one and not used to it.
He‘s just amazing and I hope he‘ll be in the next book as well!

I really enjoyed the addition of the dating app and a big plus for me is a book where the characters actually communicate with each other!!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

After reading The Next Worst Thing by Sara Jane Woodley, I was excited to read to Luke and Daisy story in The Right Wrong Match.

Daisy has a crush on Luke Brooks since high school and Luke is still getting over left by his fiance right before their wedding a year and half earlier.

This was a cute read, but I felt a little disappointed that it wasn't as good as the first book in the series.
The narrator for Daisy was great, however, I felt the narrator for Luke just fell a little flat.

I'm excited for the next book in the series.

A sweet, homey kind of friends-to-lovers romance.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this audio. I was really surprised how the story developed from the wedding that started with a blind date. And then after some coincidences thr main characters starts to use the same app. Someone discover they are connected by mystake and from then it is even more curious to see how will develope on and how will happen. I was so in love.

Thank you, NetGalley for this advance audio copy of The Right Wrong Match in exchange for my honest review.

An accident on a dating app lands Daisy planning singles events for the whole town. It seems simple enough, until the town council forces Luke (the exact man she is trying to no longer crush on) to play cupid with her.

This one has all the tropes! Brother's best friend, small town romance, grumpy/sunshine.
It's told through dual POV, and was a cute "sweet rom-com" so don't expect any steam from this one.
I really liked both Daisy and Luke and rooted for their happily ever after.

What wasn't my favourite were the two narrators.

This was my first read from SJW. while it's not my usual Book preference, im so happy i picked it up. It was a sweet, non-spicy change of pace for me! but noahs voice?? Oh mannnn. And then Daisy was just absolutely adorable and while i wish Luke had realized all those years ago... they would have been different people and leading different lives if things had played out any differently. BUT. dont get me started on the ex. Or the fact that essentially nobody knew about Daisy and Luke Dirty little secret?? (Who has to knooooowww *if you sang that in your head, you are my people*... (i should add that the 'mystery' part of the story was also entertaining.. but a little underwhelming. Though in all honesty. I was here for the romance.. not the plot 😂😂)

Now.. speculation time.. Dee and Noah! Seriously i kept "watching" their interactions and just waiting for the tension to snap. Guess im goin to the next book!!

Such a fun book!
I loved the main characters and and pretty much all of the side characters as well.
This had plenty of humor which I loved. I also enjoyed that it was romantic, but still PG.
The plot was a bit like You’ve Got Mail so if you liked that show you will like this book.
The narrators were fantastic- I liked having both a male and female narrator.

Daisy has a list of dating dos starting the book out with one of them, which is getting set up on a blind date. Her blind date turns to a disaster, but her long time crush Luke Brooks helps her out. Luke is serious and has been the center of town gossip for awhile.
Luke and Daisy are thrown together for a project, which makes them become closer.

This was a light-hearted cute read. Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy.

Daisy has had a crush on her best friend Ivy’s brother, Luke, for years and is finally starting to put those feelings to rest. She finally decides to look for love and uses a new dating app her sister Dee helped create. After many conversations with Aaron on the app Daisy sets up a date to meet him. The problem is that the app send the date information to all the men Daisy had been talking to. This glitch causes Daisy to become an event planner for the city and with the help of Luke she may help many couples find love, including herself.

This is a friends to lovers warm cute romance. There are obstacles but none of them are overly stressful, even an ex showing up doesn’t turn Daisy into an insecure hot mess. Daisy is pretty confident and there is good communication between Daisy and Luke in how they feel about each other, their past, and how ex’s fit into their current life. It was enjoyable to have that kind of open honesty and not the typical romance trope of massive miscommunication and misunderstanding. This was a very easy listen. I presume the very end of the book sets up a next novel with the story of Noah and Dee.

The narrators were good and brought the characters to life. I started listening at normal speed and then increased it to 2.0.
