I received this as an audio galley to listen to for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for giving me access.

This was a little less thrilling than I was hoping for and a little more no one tells the truth in a relationship. I wanted to enjoy this so much, but found that it lacked that spark that really gets you on the edge of you seat.

Overall, the story wasn't bad, just not what I want in a psychological thriller.

I loved this book so much! I really didn’t know what it was about when I started reading it, but I quickly was obsessed! The characters are well developed, and I couldn’t help but love them all!

How far would you go to protect your secrets??

Cass seems to have the perfect life. A great job, husband, and kids but when she receives an email from her husband’s mistress everything begins to spiral out of control. So when the mistress goes missing “perfect” Cass is the prime suspect.

This story has many twists and turns and will keep you guessing. Who do you believe? Every one seems to have a secret… will protecting these secrets be worth it?

If you like secrets, deception, and mystery definently pick this book up!!

Audiobook Rating: 3/5

I didn't realize Marie Still had so many debut novels coming out in 2023 but I am totally here for it after reading We're All Lying. Every character is in fact lying, but isn't this what happens IRL too? You can't tell me there is anyone who hasn't told at least a little fib, so I feel like the title fits everyday life and not just this drama-filled novel. We get a handful of viewpoints in this book which are Cass, Cass's assistant Alice, and Cass's husband Ethan, and through these 3 we have quite the story that touches on everything from infidelity to obsession. I recommend going into this book as blindly as possible and agree with the reviewers that say you shouldn't even bother reading the synopsis (just trust us).

I was fortunate enough to receive the book as well as the audiobook, but I have to tell you that I would go with the book/eBook for this one. While I wouldn't say I was even close to hating the audio, I just did not care for the narrator they chose for Cass. Her narration is pretty stilted and disjointed and I don't know if it was her or the writing, but some things that happen end up feeling incredibly abrupt and like they came out of nowhere. However, c'est la vie as they say, and I found nothing wrong with the pacing or the wildness that ensues. None of the characters are likable in my opinion, but I still managed to enjoy every single one of their viewpoints. I think We're All Lying is a very solid debut, and I loved that there were LOL moments thrown in too! I am going to be checking out Beverly Bonnefinche is Dead when it comes out for sure.

I received a complimentary copy and an advanced listening copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

We’re All Lying by Marie Still is a suspense/thriller that will have you putting the pieces together and trying to warn Cass of what will eventually end up going down.
Cass is the picture-perfect boss woman, married to Ethan her College boyfriend and they have two kids together. Everything ends up turned upside down when Cass receives an Email from a mystery person that shatters that entire image. The messed up part, it’s like the call is coming from inside her agency!

We see how this shocking event and turmoil sends Cass a little over the edge, with visits to her childhood. The broken fragments start appearing as Cass is unable to keep up with the lies she’s told. Hence the title of the book, We’re All Lying. Everyone had a lie they kept, from Cass to Emma, to Ethan and Alice. All the way to the crashing of events, when one of the characters is found dead.

The audiobook version of We’re All Lying by Marie Still is narrated by Jennifer Aquino, Melissa Kay Benson, and Rob Brinkmann. The book is divided into the point of view of the three main characters. You hear the side of Cass, the side of Alice, and the side of Ethan. It was fantastic, the details of the ending were unexpected but made the story all the better. A full-circle moment to the ending will shock the readers.

The novel We're All Lying was a fast paced, exciting listen. It tells a story of a woman who looks like she has it all together, co-owning her own company, children, a handsome husband, great best friend, the right look, car but in reality she finds that she has nothing at all and is maybe losing her mind. Most of the characters in this book have a secret and the main character has a big one also. If you like to be surprised and sitting on the edge of the seat then you will like this novel. I will say though, I did not really like the narrator that much.

Wasn't the best book. Plot twists were a little on the nose. Fell short. The narrator was good. Was a quick read.

I enjoyed that they had a male and a female narrator. That improved the story so much for me.
This book was filled with suspense. The ending was good. I will look for more books written by this author.
I receved this galley from NetGallley.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for accepting my request to audibly read and review We're All Lying.

Narrated by Jennifer Aquino; Melissa Kay Benson; Rob Brinkmann

This debut novel had highs and lows. Quite frankly, it was just okay. I feel like I should have seen flags in the synopsis. Successful business woman, so busy but finds time to have two kids, husband is lonely and doesn't like being ignored. If you are a new reader, you will enjoy this. If you are a seasoned reader you know he had an affair. Enter Charlie Brown's teacher-- blah, blah blah, blah. Cass (surprised at how cute?) thinks she should prioritize her husband. I don't recall if the he's a good father having an affair while I work leaving two children to fend for themselves was used in that order.

This storyline has been done. While my fear is it becomes antiquated, I wonder what will replace the trope? My review is sadly tired and exhausted. Cass in all her bravado and cuteness opted to not pass on profanity. Thus 2 stars and best wishes on your next. Consider losing the cussing, A 2.5 would have rounded to 3: A 2 stays 2.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

It seems like Cass has the perfect life, a great job and a handsome husband but she has secrets she keeps from everyone. She is not the only one it seems, her husband has a few and one of them just sent her an email. Cass has no idea who her husband is having an affair with or how long. All she does know is that the woman has long dark hair. Shortly after the email Cass starts being stalked.

I listened to the audio book and I thought that it was really well written and I really enjoyed to of the narrators but I did not care for the narrator for Cass. Her reading was robotic and that is why I knocked off half a star.

Thanks #netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review. I listed to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration. Loved the story and the complicated nature of everyone's relationships. Highly recommend.

Firstly, the narrator made it hard for me to enjoy this, for some reason it sounded very robotic and monotone and I couldn't get into the story. Secondly I don't think the writing is bad, I actually thought this was very well written but I just could not connect with this book and I found it a bit dull, the twists were a bit obvious and especially cliché with the cheating husband. However I think a lot of people will enjoy this it's just not the book for me.

This was an enjoyable book. It kept you guessing as to who the bad girl was. I enjoyed the narrator as well. She easily kept all characters separate and told the story in a way that was easy to follow along.

This is the first book I read/listen from this author, and I honestly have mixed feelings about it. Although the narrations was very good, the story was not so engaging. I was hoping for a gripping psychological thriller, but instead it felt more like a family drama. There were too many chapters around the main characters marital problems that slowed down the pace. Maybe after reading the blurb and the title I got high expectations.

Thank you to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for an audiobook ARC of We’re All Lying in return for my honest review.

Cass runs a successful marketing agency with her best friend. She’s married to her college sweetheart, has two great kids, and a designer wardrobe to die for.

We all know where this is headed, don’t we? 😜

A dirtbag gaslighting husband.
A menacing stalker.
A haunting past.

You won’t know who to trust in this twisty turnie domestic thriller.

Did I see the major twist coming? Yep…part of it.

While the first few chapters really sucked me in, I felt like the plot quickly lost momentum. There were multiple points of view, but their backstories were all hazy. Overall, the characters were either underdeveloped or completely unlikeable, so it was hard to root for any of them.

🎧 If you’re listening to this on audiobook, it’s sloooooow, so you’ll need to speed it up.

Read this if you like…

This was such a good book. I had me guessing until the end and most of what I had guessed was incorrect. The twist and turns on the book leaving you on your toes trying to figure out what will happen next and ask you the question at what lengths will you go to keep everything you love.

Normally I love thrillers. This one, not so much. The classic husband and wife with secrets trope but this one wasn’t done as well as others I’ve read. The twists were obvious and easy to see coming and the “twist” at the end felt very juvenile and had no prior indications. A lot of the twists and plot were just told to the reader outright rather than discovered or shown.

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.

I liked this but also hated this at the same time. I don't know why I get so sucked into books like this where I realllyy don't like the characters and question their actions the entire time... Overall an interesting plot though with some good twists. The narrators were good as well.

This is another recent thriller that I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars..I went with 3 stars because I felt the first half of the book was TOO fast paced (which is rare for me) and just felt a bit convoluted. There were several POVs which I typically like, but narration felt a bit stilted. I actually really liked the narrator but certain POVs just felt unnatural at times. One of the POVs that is thrown in really gave away the major twist for me because her POV just didn't really make sense to be there unless she was a major player down the line. I felt that the narrator should have included her a little less in the beginning and more down the line so it wasn't so easily foreshadowed. I thought the game of cat & mouse between the 3 key players were interesting but a bit confusing as well. This did keep me entertained for the most part. I thought the ending was a tad predictable but overall pretty good. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This one was a bit confusing off and on but I enjoyed it. Alice and Cass take you on quite the interesting adventure. And then there is Emma.
And the husband. I found him to be very unlikable. Honestly I didn’t love any of the characters but they made for an interesting thriller. Narrators all did a great job on this book as well.
