I very much connected to the mother Belle. I can be overprotective at times. Loved the plot, the authors writing style had me turning the pages. So impressed loved it.

acqueline Sutherlands debut novel The Coffin Club was my absolute top read last year. So i was so excited to get a copy of her second book Twin Truths. I am so glad i did.

This is at times a dark read, i found myself trying to guess all the way through what the big reveal would be, i wasn’t disappointed there were a couple of thing’s that i have never heard of before but 😱.

So what’s the book about, it surroundsDavid and Belle and their twin daughters Kit and Jess. Belle is the one telling the story so you have to believed everything she says. Its Christmas time and the girls are due home from university for the holidays. But Kit brings a surprise with her a boy known as Ivo she is head over heals in live with him. He seems very polite until he has Belle on her own then the tension goes up a notch. Who is Ivo? What does he have on Belle that could destroy her whole family? How fat would you go to save your family?

Overall i liked the characters they are like your normal average family, early on in the marriage Belle slipped up, she had felt trapped and bored she needed a bit of excitement and she went out and got it. But it wasn’t long before she realised what she was doing was wrong she loved David and spent the next 20 odd years proving it.

Now she could lose it all, she needs to find out more because she will not let anyone take either if her girls. Right now Kit is saying she wants to ditch university and go travelling with Ivo.

Belle is a strong character. She swims in the sea early every morning of the year. It helps to keep her mind focused. But you could feel her vulnerability about her daughters coming off the page. Every mum who has raised their children and seen them leave for university or to live with a boyfriend/girlfriend/get married goes through empty nest syndrome as Jess and Kit are twins they both go off at the same time. It’s hard to deal with, the silence in the house. Obviously when they are coming home for a few weeks of the Christmas holidays the house will be alive again, Belle is so excited until she realises things have changed.

This is another great Psychological read by Jacqueline Sutherland, go grab yourself a copy its out now and if you haven’t read The Coffin Club then definitely grab a copy of that as well.

See if you see the twists coming.

I was keen to read 'Twin Truths' as I had heard such great reports about Jacqueline Sutherland's first psychological thriller, The Coffin Club- and I was so glad I had the chance to read it, I was hooked and couldnt read it fast enough!

Belle and David's 18 year old twin daughters Kit and Jess are coming home for Christmas after their first terms at university. Belle has missed them terribly and is desperate to have some quality time with her girls when Kit drops the bombshell that she wants to bring her new boyfriend Ivo with her. When the family find out he's an orphan, and that Kit is madly in love with him, how can they refuse him an invitation to join their family celebrations. But there's more to Ivo than Kit is aware of, as ties to Belle's past emerge. Ivo is an over-familiar and intense guest but Belle doesn't want to upset her daughter.

The story is told entirely from Belle's point of view, with some interesting insights into what has happened in her past, some moments where her life could have gone one way or another. Some of the twists were impossible to see coming and radically changed my view about what was to come further down the line,

i really enjoyed the sea swimming element of the story too, Belle and her friend Nancy swim every day, and there was great detail given about the power of the sea to support or destroy you - Im not sure it made me want to become a sea swimmer though!

Belle is an empty-nester, about to turn 50. Her twin girls are coming home for the Christmas holidays after their first term at separate universities. Belle has a loving husband David and an irascible mother-in-law Morag who lives on site. Quite suddently her daughter Kit asks if she can bring her boyfiriend Ivo home for the holidays. Kit is head-over-heels for the smooth, charming Ivo but there is something off about him. Quite quickly he raises Belle's hackles and it seems that he has some hidden agenda. The tension ramps up as long-simmering secrets threaten to be unearthed. Really enjoyed this!

This is a book that will keep you up all night as it is a book that you just cannot walk away from until it is finished. The suspense is just crazy. I stayed up all night just to find out if Bella wins the day.
You must buy this book and have the best roller-coaster ride of a book that I had read this year.

What an excellent read! Set in the delightful Southwold, Belle (approaching 50) is an enthusiastic, daily sea swimmer, looks forward to her twin daughters coming home for Christmas from their respective universities.

This part of the book is so well written describing her feelings as the girls were both in their first years, and. of course, one of them brings home a boyfriend!

The plot thickens with fast flowing writing which helps create a tense and eerie household. Other characters are original and believable, with the missing dog storyline very effective. No more spoilers in this twisty tale.

Overall, I loved it, and thanks to Net Galley and OneWorld Publications Point Blank for the chance to read and review.

I read The Coffin Club last year and it was a really nice surprise to read such a great book, therefore I was so happy to be approved for the author’s second book. I can safely say that this one didn’t disappoint either! The story focuses on Belle who is excited to be reunited with her twin daughters on the Christmas break from university. Only one of her daughters brings back her new boyfriend, Ivo, but is he really as charming as he first comes across?

I ended up reading this in a day as I couldn’t put it down. The book was character driven, which I can sometimes become tired of, but on this occasion it worked really well. Although I worked out most of the twists it didn’t detract from the story and you slowly see the darkness and suspense build. I will be recommending everyone read this! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this early copy.

If you love character drive novels this is right up your alley. It will also have you thinking about who the people are you let into your life and home and how much you really know about them. Be careful who you trust….even your family!

This was such an amazing read! The plot is really unique and the writing just flows you get carried away with the story and the moral dilemmas Belle has to work through. I can often find character led thrillers are a bit dull and drone on but this one kept moving forward at a really good pace and I couldnt wait to see what was about to happen next. The characters are original and realistic. They're well rounded and relatable. The twists are hinted at quite blatantly so there isn't any jaw dropping moments but there doesn't need to be, its still really engaging and keeps you totally invested. Personally I would wonder how a mother would be so chilled about knowing what she knows...... no spoilers...... and not stop it immediately but hey, each to their own I guess lol. She's not the kind if character that makes stupid decisions just to drag out the drama though and I was just so invested in her journey to keep her family safe. There is an eerie tension throughout, and the feeling of nit being able to escape the danger. Overall, I loved it and would highly recommend
