this was a great sequel in the Orphans of War series, it had what I enjoyed from the first book. Michael Reit has a great writing style that I was hoping would continue. The characters worked well in the time-period and I was invested in what was going on. It worked well in the historical genre.

"Nicolas gracefully inclined and shook his head. “I’d like to believe you would do the same for me if the roles were reversed. I’m happy you’re moving on tomorrow. I’ll feel much better knowing you’ve safely made it to Brussels. They’ll arrange papers for you there, and then you should have no trouble making it through France.” He set down his glass and picked up his spoon. “Now, eat, before it gets cold.”
