Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for this book.
This was a quick and fun read and while I didn't loved it it was still quite enjoyable.
I'm a sucker for second chance romances with forced proximity and this one delivered that.
I'm genuielly interested in reading more books from the author.

Cute. Second chance love story. Loved all the quiz facts throughout. You can tell the character has a passion for the game and the knowledge. I was rooting for Eli.

This is ideal for fans of The Ex Talk!! Let’s Get Quizzical is a romantic comedy you don’t want to miss out on. I enjoyed every minute of this.

This book is romcomish, it’s funny when it has to be funny, it’s romantic when it has to be romantic, it has two characters clearly well identified as characters, they have their personality and some people took time to find the mmc charming but I got him from the start

3.25⭐, 2🌶️

This is a really cute romance that gave all the adorable rom-com contemporary romance vibes. I gave it a lover rating because I just personally wasn't enjoying it - it felt very obvious and simple of a book and there just wasn't anything special I connected with. Charlie's views on dishonesty just didn't feel realistic as an adult.
Honestly, my favorite part of this book was all the random tidbits of fun facts I learned.

🧡Second Chance Romance

Thank you NetGalley and Alcove Press for an eARC of this book, in exchange for my honest review!

This was a quick, easy romcom read! I struggled to get behind Charlie’s black and white view on lying and the judgmental nature it made her have (even with explanation as to why, that’s what therapy is for!) but overall it was a fun sweet story about second chances with a dramatic subplot and a nasty television producer. Both Eli and Charlotte have their stuff they need to work through to get their happily ever after and it was nice to watch each of them grow by the end of the book!

Let's Get Quizzical is a fun, fast-paced second-chance romance centered around a game show. The FMC, Charolette, gets picked to be on the show and locks eyes with one other contestant, her high school sweetheart, Eli. They ended things on bad terms, so when they are paired together live on the show, it is a bickering mess ( THAT I LOVED AND ATE UP!). They are both in financial trouble and forced to work together. Speaking of force, the central trope other than second chance is forced proximity. Between the game show and the hotel room, tensions were HIGH. I enjoyed the pacing of this book and liked how the chemistry and tension started immediately with no slow burn. With a unique plot line, I recommend this to all romance lovers.

Thank you, Kelly Ohlert and Alcove Press, for the ARC in return for an honest review.

I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. This was requested when I first found out about NetGalley and I had requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before they were archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!

I really loved the premise of this one but unfortunately it fell a bit short for me. While I enjoyed some parts of the book, the pacing was a bit off and I really struggled to connect with the characters which made it a bit difficult to read and I found myself skimming. I do think it was more so a personal preference on writing style as opposed to it being bad.

This was fun! I loved the quiz show aspect, and the high school lovers turned enemies turned teammates was a fun concept.

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

I wanted to read this book because I loved thereally authors other book "To Get To The Other Side". By this cover I expected a nerdy kind of romcom but it's not at all. This is such a good second chance romance story that addresses many issues. I don't think its a romcom at all, but a good gritty romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! So impressed with her work.

unfortunately, i just don’t think this author is for me and that’s okay. this story had lots of potential, but as with this author’s first book, the heroine ruined it. she was very immature to begin with and she only grew at the end bc she basically got permission from her grandmother to change her morals.

the second chance romance was all tell and now show. i would have loved some flashbacks to build the chemistry between the MCs. the reason for their separation was silly and i can’t see grown adults still thinking and pining away like that after a 13 year separation.

i loved eli, though. then again, i loved the hero in the first book, too! also, i got a bit of whiplash with the spice considering the first book was closed door.

romance: two open door scenes

thank you to alcove press for an advanced copy. my thoughts are my own.

If you like cheesy, second chance, rom-coms, this might be the book for you!

Charlotte is a family-centric person who is close with her parents and grandmother. But due to her grandmother's unexplained illness, they're all in financial trouble. Given that Charlotte has always wanted to be a contestant on a game show, it seems like the best solution to come up with a lot of money to pay for Grandma's medical treatments.

Eli has been making up for his father's mistakes for years. While his father's heart is in the right place, it's been hard to make ends meet with an ex-convict in the family. And now that the house is falling down around their ears, they've got to find a way to make a lot of cash fast, while staying on the right side of the law.

Ultimately, Eli and Charlotte end up as competitors and then teammates on a game show. The only problem is, he broke her heart back in high school. And he's never forgiven himself for it.

While it seems like there's so much potential for this storyline, the cheesiness really detracted from what could have been a sweet love story. And Charlotte's black-and-white view of right and wrong doesn't help the situation very much.

I enjoyed the story, but quickly realized not to expect a lot from it.

Thanks to Kelly Ohlert, Alcove Press, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Looking for a cheesy romcom? Let's get Quizzical has got your covered. I think the story and writing both had the right amount of all cheesy elements to make this a "are they endgame or not" read! Of course, some relations take place right when things are falling into place, of course, the plot is riddled with cliches...but it is all packaged in a very endearing manner.

As someone who only recently got interested in quizzing, this was fun to read and ticked a lot of boxes for me.
The book also keeps its distance from smut so I am sure a wider audience will be picking this one!

I really wanted to like this book but it felt so far fetched and the stakes where just ridiculous. I do like the premise of the competing game show but it was taking far too long to get to that point that I lost interest.
