A new title in the Star Wars High Republic series, this one aimed at Middle Grade readers. In a contest to find and chart new hyperlanes for easier travel between planets, Jedi Padawon Rooper Nitani is asked to join a small team. Only to find out that the crew they join isn’t planning to find the hyperlanes, but Planet X. This was a fun audio book, narrated by Amber Lee Connors. The team consists of young adults trying to prove themselves and not get caught for stealing, because their pilot isn’t supposed to have the ship that they are taking. But finding Planet X isn’t the only thing happening during the contest and decisions have to be made. Definitely one for those that like adventure stories and Star Wars.

I LOVE Star Wars books and this one was wonderful. Audiobooks are the best from Star Wars - they always enhance them with sound effects, voices and dramatics.

This novel takes place during the Golden Age of the Jedi - long before the movie franchise era. It is the age of exploration and adventures. Three friends are charting a new course to a new planet: Planet X. The Planet is a rumor, but Dass is convinced that the planet not only exists, but that he's been there. The crew is young and inexperienced, but that makes it even more of a wild ride.

If you love Star Wars and you want a fun Jedi adventure to a new planet: this is it!

Always love another good star wars story. This new phase of stories is getting better as I can place myself in that time period more and more. The carry over of characters is nice. The pace was pretty good. An enjoyable book for sure.

Star Wars: The High Republic: Quest for Planet X audio book is a fun, fast paced, very entertaining, space race story that features more of the Path of the Open Hand and Jedi conflict. This Star War adventure novel is set during Phase II of the High Republic era where the great Hyperspace Chase to chart a course to Planet X is about to begin.

Planet X reminds me of so many great ideas in other books, films, and television shows. Planet X serves as the MacGuffin of the story and continues to drive everything forward till the conclusion of our tale. This mysterious planet that no one in the Galaxy believes exists even has two prospecting families clamoring to find it: the Graf family and the San Tekka clan. We get to witness these great rivals frantically try to find Planet X. We even get to meet a member of the Graf family, Sky Graf, who is good and kind. Sky is completely different than any other member of the Graf Clan we've met in other High Republic books and comics. Sky actually tries to do the right thing and isn't trying to come up with new schemes all the time.

Planet X is an interesting concept that gets revealed little by little as the story moves along. Some of the tidbits that are mentioned about Planet X remind me of Dagobah and even Mortis from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars show. Planet X feels like it's not only a location in this story but also a character with unique Star Wars abilities. You need to listen or read Star Wars: The High Republic: Quest for Planet X and see if you agree with me.

The Path of the Open Hand also play a big role in Star Wars: The High Republic: Quest for Planet X. This story takes place shortly after the battle of Jedha and you get to see some of the aftereffects the battle has on the Galaxy. After the battle of Jedha, The Path of the Open Hand get involved in the search for Planet X and we also get to see more of The Mother as she flees from Jedha to return to Dalna. I really enjoy hearing other points of view on the Force. It's great to finally see other groups beside the Jedi and Sith who are also Force sensitive and have such different opinions of the Force and who should be allowed to weld the power of the Force. It would be so entertaining to see new Star Wars stories featuring more of these Force sensitive sects from the High Republic era.

Star Wars: The High Republic: Quest for Planet X the audio book is awesome. The sound effects and music made me feel like I was tagging along on the journey to find Planet X! The enhancements in audiobooks always make Star Wars fantasy adventure books even more enjoyable to listen to! Amber Lee Connors also did such a great job voicing each character in the story. She changed her tone just enough to give each character their own unique voice. I hope Amber Lee Connors gets to narrate another Star Wars audio book soon!

Star Wars: The High Republic: Quest for Planet X the audio book is terrific. Please listen to this audio book or read The Quest for Planet X. The story is fun and very fast paced.

Trust in the Force.

Stay Awesome and keep reading.

A super cute, very fun and engaging story that will be familiar to fans of Star Wars, even if they haven't yet ventured into the High Republic!
The focus on younger characters will be deeply exciting for younger readers. The audiobook narrator was great and engaging!

Quest for Planet X is a fun, action-packed, adventurous Junior Star Wars novel set in the era of the High Republic; known as the golden age of the Jedi. If you aren't aware, the High Republic materials take place hundreds of years before The Phantom Menace and explore the set-up and development of the galaxy.

This is Canon and is part of Phase II of the High Republic materials release. Specifically, Phase II takes place 150-years prior to the first release from Phase I, Light of the Jedi. This is a time before the Republic has fully developed it's vast communications network. Planets and various star systems aren't as connected as they one day become. It's really the Wild West time in space exploration.

This story mainly follows three characters: Dass, Jedi Padawan Rooper and Sky. They enter the great Hyperspace Chase with the goal of mapping a course to Planet X.

Planet X is a mysterious planet that many do not believe exists. 12-year old, Dass, has been there before with his Dad. In fact, their ship, the Silverstreak, is still there. Dass would like to reclaim it. 15-year old, Sky, will captain their mission. They have their own reasons for wanting to find Planet X, which is slowly revealed over the course of the story. Dass convinces Padawan Rooper to join them on the mission for two weeks. He feels like Rooper's Jedi status will only help them on their way; perhaps keep them safe.

It's a stressful adventure from the start as it becomes clear that their ship, the Brightbird, was perhaps taken from Sky's brother, Helis, by less than upfront means. Helis claims Sky stole the ship and he wants it back, by any means necessary.

The kids are flying against the odds, but nevertheless they are determined to find Planet X. The stakes get higher though when they have a run in with members from the ominous shadow group, The Path of the Open Hand. The members of The Path are Force-Users who oppose the Jedi. They try to get Rooper to join their cause, claiming the Jedi are corrupt.

There is so much happening in this story. The characters are great and I loved that amidst all the chaos, we really got to know them and their motivations. While they were all trying to forge their own path in the best ways they know how, I liked that they grew to trust and rely on one another. They showed great personal growth and teamwork over the course of the story.

The fun thing about Middle Grade, or Junior, Star Wars novels is that it is really one event start to finish. You see the problem and solution. While it doesn't add as much to the building of the world as say the Young Adult, or Adult novels, it's still a satisfying and engaging read. Don't get me wrong, you do learn things in here that contribute to the larger picture, it's just lesser in scope than the more advanced novels.

I listened to the audiobook of this story and again was struck by the overall production. If you have never listened to a Star Wars novel released by Disney Audio, I highly recommend it. It's an entire listening experience. The narration is always phenomenal and don't even get me started on the music and sound effects. It's so freaking fun, truly bringing the stories to life.

Thank you so much to the publisher, Disney Audio, for providing me with a copy to read and review. This was a ton of fun. I have been loving the High Republic materials and am looking forward to picking up many, many more.

This is a big step up from the first of this age range for phase 2 of The High Republic series. Quest for the Hidden City was fun, but Quest for Planet X is an extremely fast paced adventure that feels more necessary to the overall story. More Path of the Open Hand reveals are included and it helps bridge The Battle of Jedha to what will come next in the more mature novels that will wrap up phase 2.

"Quest for Planet X" is the next young reader book in Phase II of Star Wars: The High Republic. In the timeline, it follows "Quest for the Hidden City" and has many of the same young characters. Tessa Gratton does a great job continuing the storyline. The story is engaging and fun, but it is a story where many things happen, and yet, nothing happens. It has the feel of a Goonies-style story where a group of young "explorers" must achieve a goal to save what they have lost. They learn many things along the way and are entangled in the conflict of the galaxy, but their individual and communal achievements do not necessarily advance the complete THR Phase II meta-narrative. Overall, it was a fun read, even if it will not be remembered as a high point in the series.

Audiobook: Amber Lee Connors is a phenomenal narrator, and anyone who is a fan of listening to High Republic books will greatly enjoy her rendition.
