"Zero Waste Hero" is a worthwhile read for those new to the concept of zero waste and sustainability. It provides a comprehensive overview of how to reduce waste in various aspects of life. The book's checklists are a notable feature, simplifying the information for quick reference. However, if you're already well-versed in the zero-waste lifestyle, you may not find this book to be particularly groundbreaking. Despite its limitations, it's a decent starting point for those looking to embark on a journey toward a more environmentally conscious way of living.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

This book gives a lot of useful information on how to cut back on waste. I really liked that it is divided into sections, such as "baby," so you can easily reference an area that would be helpful to you.

I received a Kindle version of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

DNF - Did not finish. This book seems like a great introduction to reducing waste, but as someone who has been working toward that goal most of my life I did not find it useful.

A very educational and informative book on going zero waste/ cutting back on your waste production. Definitely worth the read. I think everyone needs these tips!

I am a sucker for reading almost any zero waste type book, so having the opportunity to read Zero Waste Hero through NetGalley was amazing. While I did not learn much new from this book, I did appreciate what Black had to say. I think her Checklists were super helpful because the most pertinent information was all in one place. She writes about how to green up 6 categories: Kitchen/Dining, Bathroom/Personal Care, Laundry, Home/Decor, Baby/Kids and "Out and About." Black wrote in very general terms and was good about not naming one brands products over another. At the same time, it was hard to relate or see in my mind some of the items she wrote about (recycled ocean plastic razors...didn't know this was a thing!). That's where the Checklists come in, as she links to products specifically (the links appear to take you to Amazon...I only clicked on 2 before I stopped). I will say at first I enjoyed the friend-like writing style because sometimes books that are too technical and science-like are hard to read and absorb for me, but she became very repetitious with her informal language and words and it grew old. I think this book is worth giving a shot, but if you already know a lot about zero waste, sustainability, etc., perhaps this isn't the book for you.

I feel like this is geared to someone who has very little eco-conscious behaviors already and are starting fresh. Switching from plastic to glass containers, not buying fast fashion, and switching from candles to essential oils is nothing new. The only part that caught my attention was the information on composting.

Very informative and full of ideas and tips on how to live a more environmental friendly life. Waste less and reuse more, saving money whilst helping the planet. It's a small book that could be a huge help for many.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to access this ARC.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange of my honest review.
I am a bit disappointed about this ebook. It gives good tips to reduce waste and offer some alternatives. I found it really brief and not really appealing to read. There is no pictures, that support the book. The checklist are not really list that you can tick, it is more a summary of what is written into the book, not really pleasant to see neither. Yes of course it offers great changes to go zero waste, great, but they didn’t need to go extra minimalist for the book and it’s content. I think that if you want to attract more people to read it, a little bit of picture with an example to support the idea could be good.
I was also a bit disappointed about the DIY ideas. There is some suggestion of DYI in the book but no recipe attached. I am used to do some zero waste DIY, and you need some sort of quantity, especially when using essential oils for beauty product. It make me feel that they suggest some ideas, but after you have to make your own research aside. Some easy recipe and tutorial could have been a plus to help for those DIY.
When reading it, I thought that the idea present in the book could have been find on internet with a simple search, this book didn’t really bring novelty or made me want to buy the book, or offer it.

This was a well-written title, but it left a lot of room to explore and research. I would have enjoyed having specific recommendations or recipes included. It was a good compilation of things I knew and a good starting point, but I would have preferred a more advanced title.

I rather enjoyed this book.

It was a quick and easy read. It was informative without being too detailed and becoming overwhelming.

I reenergized me in my quest to leave a smaller carbon footprint. Plus a lot of the suggestions will save me money. It’s a bonus, literally!

It’s a surface level eco conscious book to get you on the right track.

I like that this book was short and quick to the point, but it didn’t really suggest anything that hasn’t already been said in similar books. I would’ve liked pictures and links to information sites.

Less of a “here’s how to go zero waste with concrete ideas” and more “general ideas for zero waste and you do your research for more”

The checklists at the end of the book were the real showstoppers in this book and those were really helpful. 3.5 stars
