This is my first time reading a book by L.J.Sellers. I actually chose to read this book because I wanted to try a new author and the blurb of the book seemed promising, as stories set in the backdrop of memory loss have always appealed to me. This book is a stand-alone, with a small role played by Agent Dallas, the titular character of Seller's Dallas series.

The story opens with Remy as she tries to understand and remember who she is and was. She is still recovering from a lightening strike accident that happened a few months before and has lost her ability to remember most of her past till her accident. The story actually travels on many timelines, with the present, interspersed with events from the past, as and when Remy remembers them. Told from the POVs (Point of Views) of Dallas and Remy, the reader is also treated to a highly non-cohesive series of events owing to Remy's extremely spotty memory.

Remy, from what she could see around her in her house and the people near her, gets the feeling that she is either in hiding or is fleeing someone. Just when the reader thinks things couldn't get tougher, Remy is kidnapped and kept hostage by a group of people, whom she thinks she might have had connections with in the past, but is unable to remember any of it. Who are these people? What do they want of her? Will she be able to remember her past and also save herself?

The story starts off with a brisk pace and travels unrelentlessly without ever slowing down throughout. The author manages to keep his reader's hooked into the story through the alternating timelines and the blank slate of Remy's memories. Seller has a crisp and brisk writing style which makes for an interesting and engaging story. The only problem I had with the book was the fact that the book doesn't delve too much in the character's minds and hearts. We never really learn what drives them nor understand what made them choose the way they did.

Otherwise, this is a solid thriller with some extraordinary twists and an entertaining story. And I absolutely enjoyed it.

Her past seemed hidden, pieces come back, would life and her memory ever fully come back. A therapist now referring her to another Dr. She couldn’t go thru this again. Going to her car that choice was taken from her, when she was kidnapped. The head of a crime family wants to use her for his own revenge.
Remi now realizes she had been in hiding fearing for her life.
Was good to read a story by her again, having read all those she has written.
Readers will enjoy this story with a good twisted plot to draw you in.
Given ARC by Net Galley and spell binders press for my voluntary review.
