This was a very fun and fast-paced read! I love the romance between the witch and the witch hunter! It was a sweet forbidden romance! I also love the world-building! It was very creative and spell binding! I can’t wait to read more books in this series!

Really enjoyed this one. It was an interesting and engaging take on witch hunt trials with my favorite witch and witch hunter romance at the center. I liked the insight into both main characters with the dual POV, and liked, too, that they were both easy to root for and flawed characters. With that cliffhanger, I'm very much anticipating reading book 2.

The first in a Duology by authors Sara Raasch and Beth Revis, Night of the Witch hits the familiar enemies to lovers notes but with enough surprises to keep me hooked until the end. I will definitely be picking up the sequel to see how the story is wrapped up and where our characters find themselves. I would recommend this for fans of witches and witch hunter storylines as well as the romantasy genre.

Dark, magical, and full of rebellion. A fierce witch, a slow-burn romance, and a fight against oppression make this a gripping read for fantasy lovers.

Thank you for letting me read Night of the Witch. I think this just may not have been for me but it was not bad.

⭐️ 3.5 / 5
Night of the Witch is a dark, atmospheric historical fantasy set during the 1590s Trier witch trials. It follows Fritzi, a witch on the run, and Otto, a witch-hunter hiding a dangerous secret. Their unlikely alliance quickly turns into romance as they work together to uncover a deadly conspiracy.
I really enjoyed the setting—grim, immersive, and rooted in real history. The dual POV adds depth, and the romance brings heat, even if it felt a bit rushed. Some parts of the plot dragged, and I wish the side characters had been more developed. Still, the story kept me hooked, especially in the final chapters.
If you’re into enemies-to-lovers, historical fantasy, and morally complex characters, this is a strong start to a new series. I’ll definitely pick up the sequel.

I just finished Night of the Witch by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis, and let me tell you — this book is a rollercoaster of emotions, secrets, and jaw-dropping twists.
Set in 1591 Trier, part of the Holy Roman Empire, the story follows Fritzi, a witch who survives a brutal attack on her coven, and Otto, a hexenjäger (witch hunter) with a secret agenda. Fritzi is determined to find her only remaining family member and bring the witch hunters to justice for the lives they ended. Otto, on the other hand, is plotting his revenge against the people who tore apart his family years ago.
Their paths cross when Fritzi mistakenly casts a spell that sends Otto’s sister into the magical ether, painting her as an undeniable witch. Otto is forced to arrest her, and their fates become intertwined as they team up to stop the hexenjägers and find Otto’s sister. Their journey takes them from the city at the heart of the hexenjägers’ power to the wild and mysterious Black Forest, uncovering a horrifying magical plot at the center of the attacks.
The chemistry between Fritzi and Otto is undeniable. Their reluctant truce fueled by their common enemy evolves into a complex relationship filled with trust, betrayal, and unexpected feelings. The authors do an excellent job of weaving historical elements with fantasy, creating a rich and immersive world.
What I loved most was the exploration of themes like vengeance, trust, and the blurred lines between good and evil. The character development is top-notch, and the pacing kept me on the edge of my seat.
If you’re into historical fantasy with a strong romance, complex characters, and a plot that keeps you guessing, Night of the Witch is a must-read. I’m already eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series.

Night of the Witch was... better than I expected. The writing is a bit stilted at first and the characters seem way to set in their ways. But I found myself getting more and more invested in the story as it went on.
I was definitely more interested in the plot than the romance. Unfortunately, sometimes it felt like Raasch was much more interested in the romance. It made the book a lot longer than it probably needed to be.
I enjoyed Night of the Witch, more than I expected to, but I'm not sure I'm invested enough to continue the series.

If you love witches, magical suspense, and a l light romance, then this books for you! It kept me entertained throughout. I’m a big lover of the witch X witch hunter romance and this one seemed fresh and had an appropriate level of spice that didn’t seem to be overdone. Excited to get into the second book!

Really enjoyed this story! it draws you in right from the start. It is written with a great flow and you constantly want to read the next chapter to see if Fritz will save her loved ones and herself, I already bought book 2 and I'll be excited to read it, If you enjoyed books like Divine Rivals and Heartless Hunter I think you will enjoy this one as well!

This book was so fun! I love an enemies to lovers and witch/hunter is one of my favorite ways to do it. I love when we get dual POVs for witch/hunter because it keeps the suspense going while also waiting on them to all find out what you know which is so fun. Although pacing could be improved, I had a great time reading this!

The premise of this one intrigued me I was hoping that I would really love this one, but unfortunately, I set it down after about a third. Would be willing to try another book by the author.

Thank you so much Sourcebooks Fire,Sara Raasch; Beth Revis, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Just from the description, the plot sounds incredibly intriguing, and this book delivered! I utterly and completely devoured this book in a matter of hours because I loved it so much. I’m already planning to re-read the book too, because I need book 2 already! The ending was infuriating & frustrating, but done in a skillful and masterful manner. I loved Fritzi and Otto together; they’re enemies to lovers vibes were spot on. I loved their tension and chemistry with one another. The pacing and worldbuilding were excellent too. 5/5 stars and highly recommend this book!

This story follows the witch Fritzi, a survivor of the brutal attack on her coven and determined to find her only surviving family member and take revenge on the hexenjagers for everything they put her through and all the lives they’ve taken. At the same time, Otto, a hexenjager, is plotting is own slow revenge after the wrongful death of his mother on the hands of the hexenjagers. Otto and Fritzi form a reluctant alliance with little trust to try and defeat their common enemy , to find their revenge and Justice.
The plot of this book really intrigued me and I had a good ish time overal in the world itself. Unfortunately everything felt very forced to me, every move every action every push towards romance…I could have well done without it. The story unfortunately doesn’t flow as well as I hoped and I had to put it down then and again because I just got very bored. There were quite some good twists but not enough for me to rate it higher than 3 stars.
Might still pick up the second book though

While it wasn’t a book for me, I think Night of the Witch is a solid read for anyone who enjoys brooding and immersive historical fantasy steeped in unique and compelling supernatural political intrigue and lore.
Thank you Sourcebooks Fire ,Netgalley and the author for a complimentary copy of this ebook. I am leaving a voluntary review. All thoughts and ideas expressed are my own.

Holy crap this author can do no wrong for me. I cannot wait for book 2. I know I'm late to this but the first was harder to sell in stores, but now that both are out I will handsell!!

This one was interesting. Kind of a historical fantasy- witch and witch hunter in 1600 Germany. I found it had a good plot and the characters were likable. I would recommend this and look forward to reading the next book.

Absolutely adored this book. I’m a big fan of both Sara and Beth and I cannot wait to read the second book!

was not able to get into this book at the time it was due to be reviewed and was not able to finish reading. i am grateful to have been given the opportunity to read this book early and have heard nothing but good things about these authors.

Love love loved this book! These authors completely knocked it out of the park. A fantasy set in historical Germany? Count me in!
