The author brings a very different approach from other books already published about the women disciples of Jesus. Her approach focuses on identifying and describing, in each of the 4 Gospels and in the book of Acts, how the actions of women help define what it means to be a disciple. Holly's research is impressive. The book is already worth it just for the bibliography and footnotes (she engages with excellent books and authors, as well as the best academic journals, and various theological approaches). Certainly, one of the best readings I've had, and material that will be part of my mandatory references on the subject.
